"We love the Sycamore Inn. The food is wonderful, and they treat you very well. We thought we had normal luncheon reservations, but we failed to read carefully, and we walked into their Mother's Day brunch buffet. We are not fans of brunch buffets, and this was no different. The design of the dining rooms does not lend itself to a buffet; although, they do their best to make it work. The food was good, but certainly not up to their usual, off the menu standards. We definitely will return, but next time we will be careful to go when we can have a normal sit-down dinner of their great food."

"We come to Sycamore at least 2-3 times a month, we usually sit in the more casual bar and have a smaller portion size and the half price wines - a great deal. It's funny how to go to a place 30-40 times a year and no one ever recognizes you. . . . but I digress.
We did the Mothers Day Brunch for the second year .. . . food was typical Sunday Brunch fare . . . very reasonably priced - included unlimited champagne and one bloody mary per aduit; a very good deal at $35.
Service was the challenge. Champagne was slow coming back around. We waited literally 15 min for coffee, Asked for the check - it was wrong both times. First time was too many people for our table, next time was too few. It took 15 min to get the check after asking."

"Out of food. We have been going to sycamore for a few years and have enjoyed. .however this mothers day was bad. .I never got the crab..they were out and didn't refill, my omelet was awful. .and our waitress seemed like she had too much of something ...and could not hear anything we told her...got everything wrong!"

"Went on Mother's day. Ate in the upstairs part. To many stairs for my elderly parents. Stairs are outside as well. Had to go up and down the stairs to the buffet quite inconvenient passing by the server's station and others. Upstairs part was nice ambience but a very warm on this hot day. The AC was of little effect because the door had to stay open guest going up and down to the buffet.
The food was outstanding. Very kinds of meat and great flavor. Cheese cake was devine. All in all go on a lest busy day and dine downstairs and believe your experience will be fantastic."

"We decided to go to Sycamore Inn on Mother's Day. Once seated, we were greeted by Steve -- a gregarious, upbeat server who was more than pleased to tell us about brunch. There was such an attention to detail with everyone. From the server to the carvers, from the host and greeters, to the Chef who came out to greet the guests during our meal. It was very warm and inviting and the food was amazing!!!!! What can I say??!?!?! Sycamore Inn has sold me and I will definitely come back. My daughter made the comment that one of the reasons why she doesn't like a brunch is generally the food. But, she had nothing but good things to say about the food and wants to come back. Thanks Sycamore Inn for making my Mother's Day extra special!!"

"It's been 20 years since we've been there and it's better than ever! We LOVED it. The food was fantastic, the service was about the best we've experienced. The atmosphere was kind of "Roaring 20s Classy" and so very nice. It set the mood for a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Although it was a little pricey, it was worth every penny. We will definitely return."

"My husband and I decided to go to the Sycamore Inn to celebrate our birthdays, as we have always loved it and hadn't been in years. Although it's said you can't go back, we were not disappointed in the least. We started with "house flat bread", which was delicious. My husband ordered the salmon, and I ordered sea bass. We thought the fish was cooked perfectly, and unique and tasty sauces were used. My sea bass had miso and a tomato salsa. Dinner is ala carte here, so we also ordered sautéed spinach and sautéed mushrooms, which were perfect. We decided on a chocolate soufflé for dessert, which was wonderful. My only criticism: although we didn't opt for the free birthday dessert, it would have been nice if our birthdays were acknowledged."

"The ambience of the main dining room is unique in the Inland Empire. The armchairs invite leisurely dining and relaxed conversation. The staff is attentive but not aggressive. "The prime rib was excellent. I usually cannot finish 10 ounces of steak, but it was so good, I ate it all (no doggy plate). The asparagus, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and mushrooms were also very good. I highly recommend this place.

"Came with another couple-first visit for all of us. I recommended it, so was nervous about whether it would be worth the money or live up to the reputation. No need to worry, though - it was amazing! Best porterhouse steak ever tasted. Atmosphere perfect. Had a drink in the bar before dinner; happy hour can't be beat, and the bartender was great! Oh, and the stuffed mushroom appetizers...mmmmm...."

"I decided to take my wife to Sycamore Inn for our anniversary since we've been here about 5 years prior. Their old fashioned decor hadn't change much which made it quite charming. I wished their service didn't change much as well. Upon entering the restaurant, no one was there to greet us. We were a little confused but eventually I found the host stand to check in. The service was sub par, especially in a place where entrees average about 40 dollars a person. The waiter was not very friendly and he didn't even introduce himself. Food was good when it eventually came. We do have to commend the man who kept our drinks topped off. He was very friendly and we wished he was our head waiter. We will not be coming back."

"They couldn't get my order right, but they were very pleasant and I was pleasant as well as we worked to get my order on the table. I ordered New York Strip Sliced. First they sent out a New York Strip Steak. Then they brought out the sliced order, but it wasn't cooked to well. Then they took that back and charcoaled it because it had the sauce on it. Overall, the way they handled it was great, great staff, but it did put an unpleasant note on the dinner experience."

"These people know what a restaurant is supposed to be about. The service was great--attentive without being oppressive and very knowledgeable. And the food, oh wow! My steak was not only of the highest quality, but cooked to perfection. My wife loved her sea bass with the tomato jam on top--a terrific combination. We will definitely be back!"

"Food was very good and the presentation was nice. My husband really enjoyed the prime rib and Onion soup. We both had the soufflé for dessert and was a very nice way to end the meal. Service was extremely slow and the wait staff was not very friendly. The dinning room wasn't terribly busy and it looked to be fully staffed. When you don't have good service it doesn't mean we will never be back, but there are other very nice restaurants nearby that we would look at first before considering this one again."

"Loved the history of the old place and the food was excellent. However I was very disappointed to find that the Primetime Specials,which were an excellent value, are only available in the bar. We were not told of this before we sat down and had to pick up our things are relocate to the bar. The dining room menu is very expensive and resulted in a full bar and not one diner in the beautiful dining room. Time to adjust the prices in these troubling economic times??"

"My wife and I decieded to spend our 26th anniversary dinning at the sycamore inn. My wife enjoyed the vegetarian dish,a choice of three of their side dishes. I my self ordered the rib chop,a 22oz bone in ribeye recommmended by the waiter and a side of their garlic blue cheese bacon mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection but had to much gristle. The wine pairing was good as well as the two raspberry martinies but not strong enough to offset the fact that they did not recognize our anniversary that was clearly noted in the reservation."

"EXCELLENT MEAL AND EXPERIENCE. I would reccomend anyone to try Sycamore Inn for the history, the food, the service and overall warmth one feels once inside. Erin and Jeff made us feel like we were the only couple that they were serving that evening. Polite, attentive, always with a smile or hint of laughter. My wife and I were WELL PLEASED! The stuffed mushrooms melted in your mouth just like their beautifully prepared steaks. The creme brulee was the best I ever tasted at any establishment except for the one my daughter makes (hers is THE BEST). We will definately be back."
