"This was our first time at this restaurant. What a gem! We had the filet mignon & scampi (perfectly prepared), minestrone (superb), salad wedge, garlic mashed potatoes & grilled asparagus. I must say it was one of the best meals I have ever had. We chose to sit in the lounge in front of the large stone fireplace, very romantic if that's what you are looking for. The best part of our experience was our server Gina who with her gracious personality & attention to every detail made it all worth while. She and her assistant kept our glasses filled and removed used dishes promptly. This restaurant is not inexpensive, but well worth any special occasion."

"My family really wanted prime rib and we were originally planning on Lawrey's but it was far and we found the Sycamore Inn and decided to try it. We did like the ambiance of the place but the food was only ok. The clam chowder soup and wedge salad were delicious but the Prime Rib was a bit tough and chewy. A little dissappointing. The server was very nice, and her assistant was always quick to fill our water glass but they didn't refill my son's drink until we asked. Towards the end of the meal we had to ask again for one more refill for my son which she acknowledged but never brought. I wouldn't say we hated it, and we'd probably be willing to try it one more time but it won't be the first place we think of."

"My family has been several times in the past ..but it is not as elegant as in the past...The huge flower arrangement was artificial..the main dining room is more crowded with tables, and there were no centerpieces other than a small candle(on Valentine's Day!)I also disappointingly need to share what my 24 year-old daughter sensed wadidn't drink the wine... a scam. A dramatic presentation of a 2nd glass of wine was presented to my daughter..and I thought "how nice"someone bought her a drink..she suspected something and and didn't drink it...lo and behold..the 2nd unordered wine was on my bill....a scam by the restaurant...I had them remove the charge...a very unprofessional act!"

"Alan and I had a great time. It was our first time there on Valentines Day. I originally asked for either a window or fireplace seating as this was my first time and had no idea what the inside/place looked like. We were immediately greeted and was seated by their large fireplace. Very nice place for a romantic dinner. The food was fabulous and the service was great!"

"Upon arrival I was initially by the sign and the outside appearance. Thought it looked really cheesy. Walking in the front door just added more to my concerns, like what did I book. But the waitress took us to the main dining hall where we ended up at ease. It was not as elegant as most fine dining places that I go, but it was alot more comfortable. We ordered the food at it was extraordinary. We were passing all of our entrees around the table. We ordered the Chilean seabass, prime rib, rack of lamb, and the porterhouse. Very pleased. We all agreed to come back, but next time dressing down to casual jeans and a long sleeve shirt than business-casual."

"Overall the ambiance was nice and the decor was outstanding. The tables were a bit crowded together to get more people to fit in a room. The waiter was extremely nice, but the food took a long time to get to us...more than ordinary. Overall the food was great though, except the salad-Sycamore salad was drenched with dressing-I should of asked for the dressing on the side. We had steak and chicken, scalloped potatoes and green beans. It was delicious including the bread and special butter. The souffle was wonderful too. The seats were not that comfortable though. It was a pleasure to be there."

"We have eaten at the Sycamore Inn several times in the past few years. It has become a favorite place for special occasions (40th anniversary, birthdays etc.) The food is as good as Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, and better than Morton's or fleming's. It is on a par with Boa in Santa Monica but friendlier. We have always had wonderful service. We highly recommend Sycamore Inn to serious diners."

"Would have rated much higher if quality of beef was better. Recommend that the restuaurant change their source of beef.

Shared the Poterhouse. Good size yet thickness of cut was not to standard size as competitors. Quality of beef not to standards of competitors.

Yet the cream spinich was outstanding. The clam cowder was also exceptional.

Brought my own wine. Feel a $20 corkage fee is a bit step. $10 should be the charge.

Overall a good steak house. Not an exceptional steak house. And due to fact they are asking top dollar felt the value slipped.

Further, would recommend a dress code for patrons. This would be the first step in several this restaurant could easlily put into place to bring up the image."

"We both got the small filet, side salad and a baked potato. The steak was nothing short of fantastic. We also had wine and a top shelf margarita. The margarita was good but i was shocked at the 17 dollar price of it. This is an expensive restaurant that is for sure. Dinner for two cost us 160 dollars with tip! The food was great, the service was great. All in all I would rather go to Fleamings though. The price is about the same and the ambiance is a little better. If you have never been you should give it a try. But be warned about the margarita:)"

"We visited this Upland Staple on January 2nd. The food was great (Steak and Shrimp Scampi)
The "family style" side dishes was a little misleading, we interpreted as large portions but their definition is a seperate plate for each side so the family can share...a little pricy but a ggood experience none the less. I hear the $10 specials in the Bar and on the "veranda" are good as well. WE will be back to try those as well.Cheers!"

"We had a reservation and it meant a reservation. We were seated immediatly. This was on New Years eve and I had an early reservation so I thought that was the reason, but no, I sat in the lobby for a little while enjoying the fire and watched as others entered and were seated. There is nothing worse to me than having to wait after taking the time to schedule a reservation. The meal was exspensive and I cannot see myself going there often but the quality was very good. We could have shared a meal and had more than enough food. Thank you for an excellent dining experience."

"I have been to the Sycamore Inn three times - and each time it was a winner! My husband had the prime rib and loved every bite. I had the prawns and scallops with creamed corn (on the side) and was very pleased! For dessert, don't pass on the creme brulee. It's heavenly.

As a side note: the service is outstanding here. The waitstaff are very attentive and do their best to create a pleasant dining experience."

My steak was perfectly cooked at medium rare, tender and delicious...I almost felt guilty adding a dab of the excellent Bernaise sauce. "The quality of the meal was not as good as the last visit. The prime Rib was a bit tough and the side dish's were barley at room temperature. "Traditional steak house fare....very personable service. People in the neighborhood seem to use this as a "special occassion" type of restaurant, it always seems to be be pretty busy. Two of us had the prime rib....it was outstanding. Cooked perfectly....great seasoning....very nice. The potatoes au gratin were fantastic!! Creamed spinach pretty average...I think I'll try creamed corn next time. We also had chocolate and grand marnier souffles....nice.... It was a very cold evening in the city...don't know if this was the reason...but the food was not hot...all evening. From the soup to the coffee...seemed to be cold. Service was very nice...our server had a great personality...made some nice suggestions, and always seemed happy."

"DON'T EVER GO FOR THANKSGIVING. THE ENTREE WAS EQUIVALENT TO A "BLUE PLATE SPECIAL". TURKEY,STUFFING,MASHED POTATOES,GREEN BEANS,SWEET POTATO,CRANBERIES, AND GRAVY ALL SQUISHED TOGETHER ON A SMALL DINNER PLATE. CHOICE OF SOUP OR SALAD, MINESTRONE SOUP WAS VERY GOOD. CAESAR SALAD WAS ONE THIN LAYER OF ROMAINE, ONE CROUTON AND SOME SHREDDED PARMESIAN CHEESE. THERE WERE 2 THIN, SMALL, RUBBERY PIECES OF WHITE MEAT COVERING THE GRISTLELY DARK MEAT AND STUFFING. "We did Thanksgiving at the Sycamore Inn. We are not turkey lovers, so the prime rib was our choice. It was excellent -- prepared as requested, flavorful, tender, and generously portioned. The creamed spinach side was also very good. We left feeling we had eaten a generous meal, but not overeaten. Servers were attentive. The restaurant owner dropped by our table and chatted. We would go back."

"Went for a special birthday. The food was outstanding. We started with the Sycamore salad. I loved the dressing and the candied walnuts. Next, she had a filet mignon that was cooked to perfection. I had the grilled salmon that was slightly crispy on the outside and perfectly moist on the inside. We had the garlic mashed potatoes and creamed corn sides that were absolutely delicious. We finished up with dessert. She had the house special dessert and I had the bread pudding. Both were excellent. I highly recommend the Sycamore Inn for any occasion."

"Wonderful place to eat! There is a lot of history in the Sycamore Inn and they simply have some of the best beef in all of the Inland Empire.
