"This was my third visit. I love the food and the staff has always been very nice and down to earth. It is often noisy, that is the reason for my not-so-high rating on the ambience. On this particular visit the three at my table had to shout to hear each other and, no, we do not need hearing aids. Also, it was a great value for the delectable food and wine."

"A definite pick for foodies... The use of flavor and texture in all dishes is top notch! We had the chop salad (of course :), the pastrami short ribs and the WAC Mac and cheese. All were super!! For dessert we had the apple cobbler with Brie creme and duck fat ice cream...perfect. A little pricey but worth the trip and $$$!!"

"Second time to Cowboy Ciao in a month and was disappointed both times. This diappoiintment seems to be more about missed expectations than anything else. It seems that attempts to create menu items that are "out of the box" leads to regular misses. My guest was disappointed in the Reuben, my steak salad was ok, my wife's chopped salad was terrific,,,not surprising since the server indicated it is ordered by more than 2 to 1 over any other menu item. Bottom line: being creative implies that risks will be taken. If you are concerned about the misses stick to the old faithfuls."

"First time here... the chopped "Stetson" salad was AMAZING. Did NOT drink adult beverages, but wish I had... I did NOT like the soda's from Mexico, had a weird taste. Ended up with a water. We also had the Exotic Mushroom Stir fry, as the Mushrooms and Sauce were fantastic, I wish the Polenta was creamy. Also tried their Chicken and Waffles. The chicken and mustard slaw and maple butter was delicious, the waffles lacked in crispy texture and were a little dense. Overall, the food was delicious and I would go back for that Chopped salad alone. I am anxious to try their other menu items, because I think their chef has some definite "Yummy" skills in the kitchen! I will go back."

"Although the menu looks very exciting, our appetizers were not as good as we expected. Mushroom dish had a lot of cremini and not as many wild mushrooms, otherwise a very rich and indulgent dish (can't imagine the entree portion). The duck relleno didn't have that much duck in it, otherwise the dish was very tasty. Buffalo carpaccio was good, but the toasts were too crispy. Good drinks, somewhat slow service."

"Our group had a great experience. The staff was excellent, knowledgeable and very friendly. The wine list -- fabulous selection, wide price range, and all cleverly annotated kept us entertained for quite some time. High marks for presentation and taste beginning with my perfectly chilled martini gracefully balancing a lovely serving spoon holding a spicy devilled egg on the martini glass's rim to the flight of ice creams surrounding a chocolate wafter and marshmallow fluff we shared for dessert. Also highly recommend the unique chopped salad and the mushroom creation served over polenta! Crowded when we left yet we were never rushed and noise level did not hinder conversation."

"Heard the food was supposed to be great. It was good but nothing fabulous. Never really got comfortable.
The ambiance is more eclectic bar scene than yummy restaurant. Noisy, energetic. Hard to have two people across from each other at a wide table for four. We had a reservation but still got a table for four. We sat next to each other so we could hear without trying to top the chatter at the other tables. So our backs were a foot from those behind us and we looked across the main aisle at the people at the bar! Just a weird feeling."

"the food was top notch; the service noticeably slow, but amiable. But I won't be going back. The place was so noisy I had to shout to my wife and had a headache by the end of the meal. Every surface is hard and reflective and the din was unbearable. It ruined the whole evening. The table next to us was complaining about the noise, too. We mentioned it to our server, but she just shrugged."

"We came here on a recommendation and were not disappointed. We were told that the chopped salad was a must get, and it was definitely our favorite dish. It's unlike any other chopped salad I've had (it was better!). The salmon and basil really made it stand out. We also had the mixed mushroom and polenta dish, which was great. The duck relleno was good but it was huge - watch out if you order it as an appetizer. One of our group didn't like her drink and our server cheerfully took it back and replaced it was another, which we appreciated."

"Overall very happy and an overall favorite in town. Was a little disappointed with the pork dish, as it wasn't very flavorful. However, took a bite of the short ribs that another person ordered and it was excellent! Our entire group started with the chopped salad and we all loved it. Excellent wines and will be going back for sure!"

"The food was absolutely amazing! My dad, who is the pickiest eater I know even tried and loved many items on the menu that I thought he would have been scared of. Also, they served Coke Light which is one of my all time favorite drinks and I always thought I could only get in Mexico and Europe, it was phenomenal! "This was our second visit to CC and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, the service was sorely lacking, the timing of the food was poor and the place was just too crowded -- we felt like we were in the way at our tiny table for two. We were jostled and frequently felt like an afterthought. A shame, as the food is creative and well done. We shared our experience the following night with three separate local couples dining at another nearby hot spot. They all affirmed our feelings that service was falling off at Cowboy Ciao -- that it just "wasn't worth" the effort that the dining room presented. Two of three of them said they only went to the bar to eat now, as it avoided what was seen as a hassle in the dining room."

"The neighborhood ambiance really set the mood and being high tech rednecks, the decor was right up our alley. Alexandra was a perfect server. Recommended a great wine in our price range and gave us a taste beforehand. The food was off the hook great, kind of Southwest/Tex-Mex/French. The mesquite smoked pastrami brined short ribs were like melt in your mouth candy and the pork shank was perfectly tender and delicately seasoned. We never had to use the knife. We especially loved the fingerling potatoes with the Hatch chile shallot cream sauce. It was our anniversary and Alexandra compedk us a wonderful slice of cake that paired perfectly with the last sips of wine. One of our best meals together in 33 years of sharing."
