Paul Martin's American Grill - Roseville
The menu at Paul Martin’s consists of dishes aimed at taking diners back to the American farm with meat raised in a humane and wholesome way, locally sourced organic produce, fish from conscientious fishmongers, artisan cheeses and cured meats from small local purveyors and custom-made bread from expert bakers. The California-centric wine list twists and turns, by glass or bottle, through the Golden State’s fruitful vineyards, with an occasional stop for an Oregon Pinot Gris or a Washington dry Riesling. And behind Paul Martin’s elegantly rustic bar is an interesting array of local craft beer and spirited cocktails with fresh garnishes. "My wife and I decided to show up to the resteraunt about 45 minutes early so we could sit at the bar and have adrink or two before we got our table. We had a total of five drinks and a half dozen oysters ($80).The drinks where good and oysters where great. The service at the bar was poor. The bartenders that didn't ignor us where rude and complained within ear shot of us about not getting breaks on time. We where seated for dinner as per our reservation time. The food was slightly above average and prices where reasonable."

"We were back at Paul Martin's for Mothers Day again this year. The food was yummy with standouts being the Grilled Artichoke appetizer with pesto sauce and the flavorful Shrimp Salad. I tried the Bay Shrimp Omelet on a whim and although it was good, it lacked the Hollandaise Sauce flavor I was expecting. If ordering this omelet, I would recommend getting Hollandaise sauce on the side. It's hard to go wrong with Paul Martin's, so make your reservations without reservation. :)"

"Went for Mothers Day, after the rush.
Took too long for her drink, it arrived after the apps did and was ordered well prior. The rest of us got ours well earlier. Not a great way to kick off celebrating Mom. Waitress was indifferent about it.
I ordered the Angus burger Med Rare, was a well done hockey puck.
Then took 15 min to pick up the check.
The place was not busy and service should have been better.
Very dissappointing to see such a once great venue go so far down hill."

"Paul Martin's is our favorite everyday restaurant in Roseville/Granite Bay. They have the Best G&T's with a full 2oz pour. We like to order several sides and one entree which we share. They automatically split the entree and it is always a generous split. Our 2 yr. old is comfortable here and likes the Mac N cheese."

"Service was outstanding. Food was great. Polenta was amazing. Only drawback was 10 year old boy seated right next to us who kept putting his feet on the chairs and at one point sat upside down with his bottom pointed right at us. Mother seated next to him didn't care one bit. If it wasn't Mother's Day, I would have asked to move. Very distracting."

"I was excited to try Paul Martin's because they serve fresh, locally grown organic vegetables and free range meat. The chicken skewers and hamburger were good with lots of flavor, and the sweet potato fries were very good, but the street tacos (beef) had fat in them. In fact, one of my tacos was all fat, no meat. I told the waitress and she brought me another order for no charge. However, she didn't check back with our table much to see if we needed anything else. I had to flag her down as she was leaving other tables. We ate off of the happy hour menu, which was reasonably priced, but the dinner menu is over prices for the food that I saw being served."

"This was my wife and my first time at Paul Martin's after hearing about it for a long, long time- nothing but great comments from our friends who had eaten there.
Well, after our visit we are in total agreement- great vibe, great food and drink- I was craving some ggod fresh fresh for dinner that night and my wofe and I just wanted a nicd dinner date to spend some quality time together- this place was perfect for both. I had the Cedar Plank Salmon and my wife had the Mahi Mahi- both great with fresh sides ... wonderful. Place was busy but we weren't in a hurry so no problem. Will be back!"

"My wife & I both love this restaurant. There was a slight delay in getting our table, but my request for a booth was honored.
Our server greeted us promptly. He knew the wine selection thoroughly, brought us samples quickly, and was happy to discuss the finer points of each.
I started with the roasted butternut squash soup. It was really delicious, exactly as I'd make at home.
I had the New York strip for my entree. The temperature was perfect, though the steak was underseasoned. That isn't usually an issue, and it will not keep me from coming back. The New York comes with a side of wilted spinach; that'd be better with smaller greens."

"The night was great. My wife and I took a friend for her birthday who had never been there before. We started off with some cocktails, had a couple appetizers (street tacos & chicken and wings, both really good.The sauce that came with the chicken wings was really good). Dinner was also VERY good (Brick chicken, bleu cheese New York strip, blackened rib eye, and Hanger steak all excellent and good sized portions. The service was excellent. A birthday dessert followed up by a couple more cocktails on the patio. All in all very good We will be backed. Not cheap, but not over priced either."

"I've eaten at Paul Martin's on several occasions for lunch and dinner but never for brunch. This time we came for Easter Brunch and were again impressed with both the food and service! We actually shared the French Toast and Applewood Bacon Omelet because both items are very generous portions, have beautiful presentation and tasted wonderful! Our server was great too, checking on us at just the right times and treating us as though we were his only customers!

"We have been to Paul Martin's twice for dinner so we decided to try it for Easter Sunday brunch. We arrived on time and were promptly taken to our booth. When we asked if we could sit at a table instead(there were 3 in sight) we were told that they were already taken. We wanted a table because we had a handicapped family member joining us with a walker and it is much more convenient and comfortable to sit at a table. We sat at the booth and and our guest seemed very uncomfortable the whole time we were there. Meanwhile 2 of the 3 table that we saw emty were still empty when we left. I am very disappointed at the way this situation was handled. Customer service is obviously not their strong suit!By the way,brunch is also not their strongsuit"

"We visited on a Monday and right now they have a wonderful special. For $49 you receive a bottle of wine, two soups or salad, and any two entrees from the dinner menu. Prior to the discount our bill was $120 so it was quite a savings.
The food was very tasty and the service impeccable. Our server did an outstanding job, she even let us sample the wine before we selected a bottle from the special menu.
We also splurged and ordered dessert. I have to rave about their inhouse made ice cream. We had the pistachio, it was velvety with the perfect balance of sweet and salty (salty was the crushed pistachio nuts).
We are looking forward to going again...SOON!"

"The house smoked salmon was the best I've ever had. It is a must order. This is not your typical thin sliced out of a package salmon. It is a thick filet with a dark smokey exterior, very soft, moist interior. Perfect on the toast with horseradish sauce. This is a big app-enough to share. The beef on the other hand was a bit chewy, fatty, cheaper cuts. However, they were cooked correctly. Good chimichurri sauce. Some foods are great, some fall short. Good overall."

"We're regulars, and for good reason! Food is excellent quality, tastes amazing and is fairly priced. This is an upscale bistro, you'll find a lot of yuppies here who don't cook and like to drink, but I come for the food! Dressy or casual, yoou'll fit in. Service is excellent (only had one or two bad servers, dozens of excellent ones!). They also offer gluten free and are willing to accommodate allergies and requests!"

oil, it was crispy dark -- not quite black. In frying chicken you have to cook it slowly so the meat is cooked to the bone, the dark
meat was red at the bone. I chose not to mention this as I was not feeling 100% and did not want to wait until another dinner was
served to me. I just took the remaining chicken home. My husband had short rib and said it was good. I won't try fried chicken

"We are regulars here, I appreciate the food quality and use of organic food. The food here is consistently great, I've never had anything I didn't care for. The 'taste of Paul Martins' is fun to do with drinks at the bar. This time we tried their Prime Rib Sunday special. For only $25 we received a real Caesar salad (not cream soaked lettuce, this was the real deal!), a huge cut of prime rib (We could only eat half, it was huge!) and some amazing mashed potatoes. The meal ended with a blonde and homemade vanilla ice cream. For the quality of food, this was a bargain...
The not so good (keep in mind this was only this experience, not normal), our service was HORRIBLE! The waiter literally ignored us over and over, I had to shout to get his"
