"The waitstaff service has never been notable at The Heights, but that changed last night with my server. She was VERY much on top of everything and quite friendly!"

"The taquitos were nothing like the ones you get at 7-11. They are open face and you only get two tiny ones in an order. If a table of four ask for them, you would expect the waiter to mention that there are only two."

"Waiter was very friendly and efficient. Enjoyed my eggs benedict which came quickly and the bloody mary was quite innovative (spicy!). Get there early to get a table or reserve.
The front desk staff was not nice at all - no reason for them to be this way when it was an otherwise very pleasant experience. I would have rated this an excellent restaurant except for this."

"I appreciated being able to sit at our table before the rest of the group had arrived -- it makes me crazy when other places won't let you sit until everyone has arrived. So thanks for that."

"Always on target! This venue has an amazing fusion of excellent service, great food and a casual environment-----I could wear a tux or jeans and feel quite comfortable.
I enjoy getting to know the staff, and it is obvious that they make major investments in their community. Was served by Suma (sp) last night, who was quite delightful, and it is always a pleasure to cross paths wtih Kyle, whose transition to management does not preclude him from saying HELLO.
Again, this dining option is consistently more-than-wonderful!
John"

"We had 12 family members visiting from out of town ranging in age from 7 to 81. They were able to accommodate all 14 of us in a secluded area so the eldest could hear and join in the conversations. The food was good and priced well. The waitresses provided excellent service and very friendly. The Heights is definitely a good value and a gem in Columbia Heights."

"The drinks and food here are very good and reasonably priced for the quality. They have a fun cocktail menu/drink list. Really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes appetizer and the brownie sundae dessert!"

"Really nice place to enjoy a casual dinner. Food was really good and the service was friendly and prompt. FYI There is a restaurant near the Marriott Wardman that is called New Heights. This place is much more expensive and has a limited menu. Do not confuse the two. Heights is a much better choice in every category."

"Pretty average food. Had the lamb burger. The lamb gyro at Cava is better and cheaper. Nothing on the menu stuck out. Items were typical of what any home cook can make."

"food was fine although the fried things had kind of too much bready stuff on them and their true flavors did not come through as much as they could have."

"I went to The Heights to celebrate a friend's birthday, which happened to be on Valentine's Day. We were nervous about bringing a group of ten anywhere on Valentine's Day, but the restaurant was more than accommodating. The food was delicious; our group ordered many variations of the burger, chicken gnocchi, curry, and several appetizers. It was a practical option for a group of 20-somethings to go out for a special occasion (without emptying our wallets entirely)."

"Good place to take a group for brunch, since they have tons of options for brunch food and "food food." It wasn't the best thing I've ever eaten, but it hit the spot. The number of choices for bloody marys and mimosas is amazing, so it's worth it just for that."

"I found nothing wrong with the Heights but it was eminently forgettable. Nothing on the menu leaped out and said "order me" but what I ordered was good. My first cocktail, ordered from the bar, was good. My second (same) cocktail, ordered from the waiter at our table, was not nearly as tasty. Our waiter was omnipresent - except when we actually wanted something. It's the kind of place I would go if I loved in the neighborhood and didn't want to cook for myself when I got home but didn't want to work at deciding what I wanted."

"We went for a very hungover brunch this past Sunday. I literally made our reservation from the back of a cab well after 4 am. Though we were a few minutes late for our 10am table the host was friendly and got us seated promptly. The major draw for me was the build your own bloody Mary bar which did not disappoint. We ordered French Toast sticks for the table, and various brunch entrees. Everything was tasty, the Turkey Hash, Fried Green Tomatoes and Potato Pancakes were standouts. However, a few other entrees were under seasoned. All together it was a great experience, we'll definitely be back!"

"The staff was very accomodating and friendly. Our server made some recommendations regarding menu choices, which we followed and turned out to be excellent choices. I had the calamari as an appetizer and the portion was actually big enough for me to share with members of my party. I also have a new favorite drink, the Stoly Doly."
