Fine dining quality food and service presented in a relaxed and contemporary
atmosphere. The cuisine draws inspiration from all Italian regions. It is our goal to offer wines of typicity and value. 40 selections are offered by the glass, as well as a small, but well thought out half-bottle selection.
"Had never heard of this place. Not One Market in terms of ambiance, but food and service were awesome. Lasagna is always the true test of an Italian rest for me. This was the best I have ever had. If you want great food in a small and comfortable atmosphere, this is the place"

"We went here with a group of 24 people on a Sunday night. It was easy to make reservations and when we arrived everything was ready for us. It is a small restaurant with a small wait staff but was surprised at how efficient Antonio, the waiter, was with our large group and surprised at how fast the food was ready. We took up the majority of the restaurant. The dim lighting and surrounding were great and the food was excellent. Every dish that we had was really good and got to try several of my friends different dishes that were also excellent. Then came the bill which I was shocked at how inexpensive it was. By far one of my favorite dinners while in San Francisco with all of my friends. Absolutely don't miss this one with a group!"

"While I would not say this restaurant is a great place to take kids, we did. There is no kids menu but the staff was happy to suggest some alternative dishes for our kids. The food is excellent and I think it's likely a lovely place for a romantic meal. While the staff welcomed us, if you take kids, take them early since most patrons are probably expecting a quiet, chaos-free meal."

"We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner when we received it! The table service was good, the staff was hustling the whole time. It seemed the slow down was in the kitchen. We will definitely return to experience the delicious food."

"Vicoletto hosted us for a 13 person birthday party. We had a large table in a semi private room. We were surrounded by walls lined with fantastic wine. The food was fantastic, except since we started dinner so late they were out of a couple of dishes and our first choice in wine. It was very busy upstairs so our service was a bit slow. Only other negative would be the lack of a full bar. I probably wouldn't have booked the reservation had I known that. The wine list was fantastic, we ordered a few bottles and really enjoyed the choices. All in all, Vicoletto was a great place to celebrate."

"Vicoletto's food was great, and they seated us as a large group in a semi-private wine cellar. It was the perfect setting to catch up with a big table - we had a fabulous time!"

"Outstanding in every way! Our waiter was a gem, the food tasted wonderful. The waiter recommended the burrata...creamy and exceptional. The gnocchi was the best we ever have tasted. They offer gluten free pasta which was light and flavorful. We will be a repeat customer any time we are in town."

"I took my son here for a late Easter lunch. They were under staffed for the amount of diners they had, so the service was very slow, but friendly. They had one greeter/waiter and a busboy. We were seated promptly and had bread and water right away. Then things slowed considerably. After we ordered drinks and small plates, we received our drinks waited 45 minutes for our small plates (salad and meatballs). My ice melted in my sparkling water and I never received a refresher or was even asked if I needed anything until after our small plates arrived. It took another 30 minutes for our entrees to arrive and the food was just ok. My son had the stuffed pork, and although it was tasty, it was very tough. My lobster ravioli was fairly tasteless."

"I have dined at Vicoletta each year for the past 3 years during visits to San Francisco. The food and service are excellent and the ambiance is modern Italian. All in all, an exceptional restaurant."

"The place is easy to miss for first timers (we drove past it once and didn't see it blending in with the other restaurants in the area). Parking is hard to come by so plan to arrive early. Went on a quiet weekday evening and the place, although not full, was definitely not empty either. Staff was attentive.
Tried many of the items highlighted in other review sites, such as the Mozzarella Burrata, Lobster Ravioli, and Squid Ink Spaghetti. Was not disappointed. The surprising star of the entire meal was the Rasberry Panna Cotta, which we almost had to fight for the last spoonful.
The entire experience was surprisingly delightful."

"Service wasn't great. Had to ask twice to get bread, the waiter didn't inform us of items on the menu that had run out. And it's a short menu, so even a single item not being on the list makes the selection that much more limited. The dessert we ordered was delicious, but our waiter who'd been flirting with the girls next to us, brought them a free dessert (the same panna cotta we ordered) just 2 minutes after we'd got ours. Felt like a slap in the face. Cute atmosphere. Appetizer was fantastic."

"wish they had better vegetarian options. Their only entree, the porcini and homemade pasta, was not good. The pasta was in itself very lackluster and did NOT go well with the porcini and sauce. The porcini was aromatic as it should be, but over-masked by bitterness and improper management of flavors. The special cheese used should have been in greater quantity as it actually helped tie the flavors together. But they gave in such moderation, the rest of the dish was very boring. Either way, the pasta was still lost even with the cheese.
The balsamic eggplant, very sophisticated and balanced.
The mozzarella, can't go wrong.
niose was VERY noisy.
nice, dim, modern ambience.
service was great."

"Very nice place to have a quiet dinner. Off the beaten path a bit in North Beach. Food was good; didnt have all your typical Italian dishes (chicken parm, spaghetti meatballs, etc) offered different, more unique Italian options. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. Our waiter was exceptional."

"It was the 3rd time we've been to Vicoletto. Many of the menu items are Calabresse style (Southern Italy and renowned for their sausage). There were 4 in our party. The maître D, the bartender and our server were very friendly and efficient. For starters we had marinated grilled eggplant, which was delicious. They make their own pasta. This was the second time that I had the gnocchi with sausage.. Others in our party had lobster ravioli, veal tortellini and pasta with fresh crab meat. We shared the pasta dishes and they were excellent. For the main course, we had braciole, again, a second time for me. We all liked the panna cotta for dessert. It's hard to find an Italian restaurant with Calabresse dishes. I'm looking forward"

"We dined here for the first time because of Dine About Town. We enjoyed the ambiance and the service. And I liked 3 out of the 4 dishes we ordered. The veal dish, however, was overcooked and my boyfriend did not enjoy it at all. He ate barely half of the dish because the meat was very chewy and ended up throwing the rest away."

"Came here for Dine About Town and the main pork entree was overcooked. Overall, we were not very impressed since we had a better experience just 3 blocks away 2 nights ago."

"My wife and I found the food and service at Vicoletto top notch. We took advantage of the SF Dine Out promotion and had a wonderful 3 course meal at a very fair price. I had the short ribs, lobster ravioli and tiramisu for dinner. All courses were really yummy!"
