"We used to go to Rosal's a few times a month. We will never go back again after the terrible service we received on two recent visits. By the second recent visit with bad service, that was it. Too long to wait for the food, rude waiter with zero customer service skills. Owner said 'it is what it is' when we complained. Wow - good thing there are plenty of italian restaurants in Little Italy (Tuscany, Francesca's) Beware - the 'Fried Ravioli' is soup - nothing fried."

"I saw RoSal's featured on the Chicago's Best TV show. There are a lot of wonderful Italian restaurants in Chicagoland so to drive in from the burbs is not a necessity, but we did, and it was great!. Been back twice and enjoyed it each time."

"This place is awesome. You don't feel as if you are in a restaurant, you feel like you are in someone's home, which makes the experience even better. The food was simply amazing, everything is wonderful. The bread they give you with the best olive oil and parm cheese I've ever had. As a app we had the eggplant rolls one word describes them great, main courses were spectacular as well. Wine list was not huge but the glass of wine with dinner was very good. The portions are very big for the price, this place is a must return to. Overall this is one of the top 5 Italian places in the city, a must try."

"Loved Rosal's, my family was in town. They love Italian, my grandparents are from Northern Italy so they fell in love with the place. Great wine selection, staff and food. We got to meet the owner, who was outside hailing cabs for all his customers, great guy. Overall amazing family dining experience."

"So many times people recommend tourist spots in Chicago but it is harder to find the small locally owned restaurant that serves quality food. "My husband and I went to Rosal's to celebrate our anniversary. We walked in with 9:30 reservations and were seated right away. The staff, including the owner/manager were very attentive and helpful with answers and opinions about the menu. The menu off err rs many delicious options, so it was difficult to choose. Food was excellent with nice portions (we both had to take our meals home). Although it was close to closing when we were finishing, we didn't feel rushed to leave. Overall, it was a great experience."

"What I love most about RoSals is that the menu is really just a suggestion. You can get anything you want how you want it. You can change sauces, change ingredients and basically create your own meal. No one ever responds with "the chef won't be happy" when you ask for a dish to be customized. I have heard that before at other places and have not returned to those restaurants. The food is awesome and obviously prepared to order. Going to RoSals is like going to a friend's house for dinner. The staff is friendly and Joe (the owner) never fails to stop by and chat. He treats everyone as if he has known them all his life. Great Food, Friendly Staff and a homey atmosphere; what more could you ask for?"

"stuffed artichokes were extremely good. pasta dishes overcooked--nearly to point of mushy--sauce--bland, chickn vesuvio ( by another name) had dry chicken, thin sauce, too lemony, no complexity--- i remember this is much better spiced and prepared--it use to be a favorite, tehn we forgort about it, now it was disappointing. service was mediocre and a trifle aggressive.. unfortunate that a place which once was right on target has slipped----maybe the chef's night out?,"

"I wrote a Yelp review as well. Both our entrees were very very good (Rigatoni Diablo and Shrimp alla Anival) but the appetizer was fair and the desserts were offensive. Peanut Butter pie was still frozen and the tiramisu was one of the worst I've ever had. Ambience was so-so, wine moderately priced. We were really hoping to discover a gem, but we still have our favorite Italian gems on the North Side."

"My wife and I have been to Rosal's numerous times. We love to bring friends to experience the high quality of food and the friendly wait staff and atmosphere. Since every dish at Rosal's is cooked to order, they are great at handling special requests. For instance, my wife loves Fettuccine Alfredo So when she asked for a side of it instead of the pasta that came with her veal dish --- no problem. Rosal's is one of my very favorite Italian restaurants. My big mistake is that sometimes I wait too long to make a reservation and I find they are all booked up!"

"RoSals is one of the best fines and restaurants in Little Italy. Joe and Linda are wonderful and make the dining experience a real treat. I recommend RoSals to EVERYONE. The food is consistent each and every time we have been there and that's what I look for in meals, my favorite dishes are prepared consistent. The bread is out of this world and the sausage and peppers are worth the drive from the south suburbs.

"I have been a regular here for a while, coming in weekly. This was my last time. This time I was a few minutes late, I'll admit that. He recognized me, but told me that he had cancelled my reservation as I was 15 minutes late and he no longer had a table for me. I pulled out my watch and showed him I wasn't 15 min late. I then pointed to two tables open. He gave me excuses as to why he could not seat me. I asked if he wanted me to leave and he told me he would "see" what he could do for me upstairs. His tone was so condescending and rude. So rude that a server came up and apologized for his behavior. Never got an apology from him."

"Totally mediocre. I ordered a seafood dish and the shrimp tasted like they had been soaked in bleach! Yuck, and it was drowning in red sauce. My son had the lemon chicken or equivalent and said it was tasty. The service was poor. I never really knew who our waiter was. At one point, when our calamari was served I even had to get up from the table to get the bread that should have accompanied it.
I wouldn't bother you're better off going to a chain like Macaroni Grill or Maggiano's"

"This is a go-to Italian restaurant. The dining area downstairs is quaint and nicely lit. The food has always been outstanding, regardless of selection. The portions are guaranteed take-home size. The service is always impeccable. The prices are more than fair. It is truly a gem."

"Probably the best Italian food in the city and certainly the friendliest wait staff. HOmemade pastas and sauces are never heavy. The fried ravioli is an appetizer that is one of their signature dishes and so rich it could be the entree."

"We have been to Rosal's many,many times and it is always delicious. Very welcoming with good service, an awesome menu and a really good dessert menu. Would go every week if we lived closer. Had the Carbonara Chicken and it is just outstanding. My husband loves the fried spaghetti with shrimp. Started with the refreshing special salad.Just fresh,authentic food."

"This was our first time at RoSal's and drove in from Indiana. We could not have been more pleased. We read other reviews and they were correct, RoSal's is FANTASTIC!!! It's in the heart of Little Italy so you better like Italian food. They really had an extensive list of dishes to choose from and all of the dishes sounded wonderful. Our table was ready immediately when we walked in and our server, though young and a bit green about their wines, was nothing but helpful and knew his favorites on the menu. Our meal was outstanding. We will be coming back to this place for years to come. Great family dining experience and best of all, the owner Joe came up to us and personally thanked us for coming in. Classy and most appreciated."
