"Great food and good service. Ambience is fair because we came out smelling like grease - worse than a Korean barbecue place. They need to upgrade their ventilation system in the kitchen."

"The service is impeccable, the presentation of meals is amazing, and the taste is Michelin-star worthy. I had the artic char with an added side of sauted cauliflower and my taste buds were in heaven."

"Absolutely loved every morsel we ate from each appetizer, entree and dessert. Great ingredients, creatively combined, and perfectly executed. Combined with a wonderful staff, it was a truly fantastic meal. The only draw back is that the tables are small and close together, but hey, that's the Village."

"I booked this restaurant off the back of reviews, and am so glad I did. I was entertaining guests, and we all had a lovely evening with amazing quality food. My only criticism was that the food came extremely quickly, so our evening was rather shortened. I would not hesitate to come back."

"This was our first time at Market Table and we will definitely return. Every single food item was absolutely delicious. The service was attentive, but not hovering. It's a cool place, but even our tween kids and grandparent felt comfortable there. Just a great dinner."

"Because our party of six was not able to be seated together at the reservation hour, they comped our bottle of wine and appetizers and everything worked out beautifully! Would definitely return. Food and service were great!"

"Tasty and very well prepared food. We shared the carpaccio to begin with, then had the duck and the pork as our main courses. We didn't get to try the desserts but we will definitely get a couple next time we go back. Our waiter was helpful, pleasant and very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine selection. The restaurants has great features like the open kitchen, the exposed brick walls and the large windows offering a beautiful view of the village."

"No alcohol served here, only beer & wine. Our server was VERY pushy. We ordered beers and wanted to talk and catch up. Waitress came over every 2 minutes to take food order. She had no personality, made our meal unpleasant. We told her it was a special birthday, she didn't say, do anything. Our food was just ok. The squid (appetizer) did not taste fresh."

"We absolutely loved the Market Table, it is a small, romantic restaurant, with great food and friendly staff. I started with the beet salad, which was very good. I would never have thought of pairing horseradish cream with beets, but it worked beautifully. For the main course, my husband had the pork tenderloin and I had the sea bream. Both were delicious. We ordered a side of french fries, and they were the best fries we've ever had. We really enjoyed this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone. Great wine list too!"

"The staff is generally responsive and friendly. In spite of the obvious huge turnover and large crowd here, no one rushed us or was unkind or unskilled. The food was excelllent: we had the octopus, the duck, the fish. Cavatelli in pesto was somewhat overpriced and dry. That was the only quibble. Highly recommended!"

"Market Table is a charming, West Village restaurant with excellent food. Every bite was delicious. Duck, Artic char, and Pork loin were all ordered. All choices were excellent and the duck was the best I had ever tasted. Service was very attentive, friendly and timely. Noise level- perfect. Could hear all members at our table easily."

"Food and service were wonderful. They will cater to gluten-free diets. They have some really great vegetable side dishes, healthy and delicious. You will probably be sitting very close to someone you don't know. The entrees were a good size, and you could tell everything was fresh."

"Apart from being very noisy (not my thing), it was a terrific restaurant. Very seasonal -- ie, in April, sweet pea soup, sweet pea risotto, etc. Big views onto Carmine St from plate glass windows. Service excellent."

"We had a great time. The restaurant is located on a street corner and has 2 whole walls of large windows which gives it an open feel. I love the relaxed atmosphere of the place with red bricks. The service was friendly and efficient. We started with the beet salads and the pea soup. Then the halibut, bar and porc tenderloin entrees to end with the panna cotta with rhubarb and the sweet potato smores. All of those were excellent. The music was not too loud and we could talk easily. I would definitely love to go back and recommend it to friends."

"This place is a foodie paradise. I always order "chefs choice" and am always pleased. This time was no exception. My first course was the poached egg warm salad, followed by the duck breast. Each were perfectly paired with wines that seemed to be vinted just for the menu. For dessert, the chocolate terrine was heavenly, but my table mates raved about the blueberry cobbler. The atmosphere, service and staff are all top notch. Market Table is a "must visit" whenever I'm in NYC."

"How disappointing! After raving about many dinners at Market Table, I returned after a 9-month hiatus. My pasta was so woefully overcooked that it had the texture of pap; I left most of it on the plate, and the waiter wasn't savvy enough to ask about it. Fried clams were heavily battered and flavorless. Small islands of redemption: the octopus appetizer was delicious, while duck posole was flavorful but a tad oily. A nicely-gilled steak was very good, but hardly showed any culinary insight. The wine list continues to be delightful, but I've sadly had to cross Market Table off my list of places for a reliable adult dinner."

"I thought that overall Market Table was a good restaurant that was moderately priced with fresh, tasty ingredients. Their main course selection is great and I would go back again to try some of their other mains. However the appetizer selection is lacking I must say. We got a nice cheese plate however instead of an appetizer. The restaurant is small but the ambiance is nice. We ate at sundown and the sun was shining right in my face which was less than ideal but overall I thought it was a great dining experience."

"With its exposed brick interior and corner windows providing views of the Village sidewalks and brightening up the room, Market Table is my idea of the perfect Greenwich Village bistro. The constantly changing locally-sourced menu is a delight for foodies and the wine list is terrific."

"Our waiter, Cayleb, was as knowledgable, and articulate, as he was handsome. He was attentive, without being overbearing, and made some excellent suggestions, that would not have tried otherwise. He made the whole experience extremely satisfying. We were visiting from out of town, but this place was not your typical tourist hangout. There seemed to be just as many people from the neighborhood as visitors like us. The crowd was eclectic and sophisticated. The ambience was stylish, and warm, without pretention. Not only was Cayleb excellent, but the rest of the staff was polite and helpful. Would recommend Market Table to anyone who appreciates interesting, and tasty, food in a cool, and sophisticated setting."

"Overall I would rate this a great dining experience and would go back. It’s nearly the same menu as the Little Owl and the same quality of food, wine and service. The ambiance was nice, somewhat romantic, not too loud, and our server was knowledgeable, attentive but not hovering. I went with my girlfriend and we had a great bottle of wine to go with the meal. My only complaint is that the appetizers were lacking in flavor and didn’t compare to the entrees or dessert. Why they put french fries on beef carpaccio is beyond me. If they were going for a spin on a hamburger, I would say find some other way of being creative. The appetizer special (crab, shaved sweet potato, caviar. . .) was also fairly bland."
