The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish.
Seafood Nation loves our outpost in Peabody, at the junction of Routes 128 and 114. Those traveling to and from the beaches in Cape Ann are known to jump ship for some fresh catch. And those considering a fishing trip, visit us instead.

"What if you don't like seafood? While the rest of the family relished their oysters, rainbow trout, and lobster bake, I had basically two choices: Filet Mignon or grilled chicken. (There is also a "vegetarian box" and some salads.) I chose the Filet Mignon and it was delicious!"

"This was a first Date.
The mixed crabcake dinner was delicious. We split a dessert which was featured that night. Bananas Foster. Turns out it was a recipe that neither of us enjoyed. Not similar to any bananas foster we had had before. It was more like caramel sause and ice cream. We would have chjosen something else if we had known. (The description did not explain it well). The waitress did not charge us for the dessert.
It did spoil a bit the enjoyment for the evening, but over all the meal we had was excellent."

Would like to see more colorful vegetable offerings though. The sole only had spinach and rice.. bland appearance on the plate. Dessert was perky -- key lime pie w/pomegranete sauce. Nice."

"I have been to legals over the years ,it has been a while since I was there . most food was good the fishermans platter, was just ok. heavy batter on most items, you could see the oil residue, the calimari,and clams were over cooked a bit, skimpy on portion when compared to other fish establishments, found it to be bland in taste. Menu is about the same, basic and boring compared to todays seafoods in most restaurants. did notice they finally upgraded deserts."

"My 84 year old mother just moved into the area from North Carolina (where there is a serious lack of lobster) and wanted to have LOBSTER for Valentine's Day! I am so glad that my husband and I were able to splendidly accommodate her request with an excellent lobster roll!.. All three of us enjoyed our lunch enormously and I immediately received a request (spell that order; my mother is a DIVA, after all) to return soon!
Our hostess was cordial, pleasant and welcoming; our server, Danielle, was delightful!"

"The waiter was great and the food was outstanding. I had the shrimp and grits. They had a great pre-fix going so I had a whole for 35 dollars, including a nice glass of sangria. Make reservations though. The place was packed. It still took us 20 minutes to be seated, een with a 7pm reservation."
