"Mario's has become our special outing place. The brunch was excellent, as usual. The salmon was superb and the desserts added a few unwanted pounds. The lamb continues to be the best that I've had since Mom made it a few decades ago. The staff was courteous and our servers were friendly and attentive. I'm looking forward to returning."

"We went to Mario's to celebrate my son's graduation from college. Although we had to wait longer for a table than I would expect having made a reservation well in advance, I could see why Mario's is so popular after we were seated. Our waiter Jeff was attentive, the compact but well chosen wine list has a lot of options in various prices, and the food was excellent. Be forewarned - the portions are ample, and steaks come with a potato nest - you don't need to order a baked potato. The highlight for two of us was the crab and lobster bisque - proclaimed the best they had ever had! Highly recommend it."

"The only real complaint was that I asked for a table close to the buffet. I had my elderly mother who walks with a cane. I got a booth table which seemed like one of the furthest away from the buffet and we had steps just to get there. If we wanted another table it was going to be about a 20-25 min. wait. My mom managed okay though. She enjoyed the food very much. I enjoyed it also. However, the food could've been much hotter in temperature."

"I went here for a romantic evening and we had a great time. We had reservations for 7:00pm and was seated right on time. We decided to have the Bruschetta for an appetizer and was very pleased. We also shared a bowl of there lobster bisque and I must say its the best I have ever had. We have been all around the country and this takes the cake. My girlfriend had the chicken French and was delicious. I had the strip steak which was cooked medium rare but was not cooked to my choice of temperature giving it 4 of 5 stars . We will visit again for two people with wine and meals came to only $95 which is reasonable"

"Took my mother and father for St. Patrick's Day and had a wonderful time! My husband, children, and I have been to Mario's before, but it was a first visit for mom and dad. They raved about the experience and want to come again when they are next in town. The food was amazing -- but then again it always is! There were a number of Irish-inspired options. Service was fantastic. I only wish we could have heard the Irish band in the main dining room. They were terrific. Mario's is THE best brunch place in town -- possibly in all of Western New York!"

"The pork was overcooked. The food was not hot. The eggs benedict was piled on top of each other with some of the eggs off the english muffin. Not worth the price that we paid. The pasta was dried out. The vegetables were under cooked. Over all, a very disappointing experience. We were there to celebrate my mother-in-laws 91st birthday and she did not enjoy the food at all. On a positive note, some of the dessert was good. What bothered me most was the fact that folks were walking around in bluejeans and baseball caps on a Sunday afternoon in what is supposed to be a upscale, classy restaurant. I remember years ago my son tried to get a table and was told before he could be seated he had to remove his hat."

"The waitress was great, friendly and knowleedgeable about the menu and wine liat. My date had the Fettucini Bellagio and the pasta was "rubbery". I had the Cartoccio, the pasta was good but i was disappointed with the variety/amount of seafood. The clams were plentiful and there was a few mussels. I had 2 scallops, 3 shrimp and I needed a microscope to find the calamari --- just a couple tiny rings and possibly 2 minute pieces of tentacle. Although the presentation was good, I was disappointed in this dish."

"Have always heard great reviews for this place as it is a Rochester staple. It was my Wife's amd my 1st Anniversary so wanted to go somewhere new. Here's the run down.. hostess was really busy and ignored us when we were told to let her know we were ready after getting a drink at the bar. I'm ok if your busy but at least aknowledge the person in front of you by letting them know you'll be with them. Server was cold and they can really make or break a meal, wasn't rude just like she didn't want to be there. Two dishes were burnt, including their speciality grilled calamari. Rest of the food was mediocre at best for the price. Really, really disappointed as we recently went to Bazil's for the first time and loved it."

"As in past years we brought our son there for his birthday. It has always been his favorite restaurant and my husband and I have always loved it as well. Well we were very disapointed in the menu change. I mean it seems like the menu selection was cut in half. I have always enjoyed what a selection the old menu offered and I was so looking forward to a nice pasta dish and all that I could chose from was spagetthi and meatballs or some very rich cream sauce dish. Honestly they need to go back to the old menu. Why change what was working so well??"

"If you are looking for a quiet romantic restaurant this is not it. It is energenic, can accomodate large groups and the food portions are large (8oz. meatballs), fresh,( all pasta made on-site, and delicious. Excellent cuisine."

"This was our first visit to Mario's. Overall experience was good. However my soup was quite salty & could not finish it due to that reason. My husband said that his lasagna tasted funny so he did not eat it. He got the chicken parm, alfredo lasagna trio."

"Very good service with very good food. Usually if we want to get a quick Italian dinner we settle and go to Olive Garden. Compared to Olive Garden It was about a dollar more for the Chicken Parm here at Mario's but you get almost 3 times the amount of food than you do at Olive Garden, and its better at Mario's. We no longer will be going anywhere but Mario's."

"My wife and I arrived early for our reservations and very much enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere of the waiting area. Our servers were very polite and attentive. Several of the other patrons did not seem to adhere to the dress code all that well; I am fairly sure jeans, graphic tee-shirt and biker leather jacket does not qualify as "business casual". We noticed more than a few people dressed similarly which we felt detracted from the intended ambiance. The close proximity of the tables made it more difficult to carry on a private conversation. The Tour of Italy was excellent, especially the meat lasagna. The Delmonico steak wasn't anything special, however, the garlic mashed potatoes were fantastic."

"Went on Friday night after Valentine's day thinking it would be quieter, but it was very busy, especially the bar. The food was good, but didn't like the atmosphere as much. Bar was small but very cowded and loud causing you to have to weave through the crowd to get to your table. Tables also were way too close together. It was as if we were part of the conversations of the diners on either side of us."

"We were on a visit to see our son who attends Nazareth College. He was the one who suggested we go to Mario's for dinner. As he has heard that it is a great restaurant. My husband who loves steak had the strip steak and my son had the filet. Both absolutely loved what they had. I had the Gnocchi, which were delicious!!! Besides the food the waiter was wonderful too! We would highly recommend Mario's."
