"I just happened upon this restaurant when I was looking for somewhere for my birthday with friends. All the reviews talked about brunch, but dinner was great too. The staff was also very friendly and when I mentioned I was there for my birthday they wrote that around my lava cake dessert. It was a very sweet gesture and I would go back the next time in DC."

"Peacock Cafe is my go to restaurant for family special occasions. I've celebrated mother's day brunches, graduation lunches, and birthdays there. The food is excellent for health conscious foodies, which we all are in our group. The wines are excellent and the atmosphere is relaxing so I never feel hurried through the meal. It feels much more like a European restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a delicious, relaxing dining experience. Let the festivities begin."

"Very nice informal brunch place in Georgetown. Service was great and very friendly. Food though was exceptional and the gem of this restaurant. Simple stuff like eggs were very well made. Pancakes were perfect done not too sweet or syrupy. Wish we had more room in my stomach then. A surprise was the chicken sausage, which was the best I ever had."

"This was our first time to this restaurant and won't be our last. The lamb burger was awesome. It is a friendly atmosphere and we even saw the owner walk around and greet each table outside. Extensive wine list and cocktail menu. The mojitos looked yummy. Lots of options on the weekend brunch menu. Can't beat the location (off Wisconsin and footsteps from M Street). A parking garage right next door, and a pay parking lot in front of the restaurant. Definitely a must try if you haven't been."

"The food was delicious and healthy! I had the cod with a sweet-sour sauce with figs and almonds and spinach on the side. My date had the veggie burger, which he said was good. I appreciated that the restaurant's menu highlights gluten-free items. It makes it a lot easier for dinners like myself with gluten allergies to figure out what to eat. We can eat more than salads at Peacock Cafe! In fact, even some of their desserts are gluten-free! We really enjoyed the ambiance at the restaurant. We were seated right by the window so could see outside without having to endure the heat and humidity. Service was also very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend."

"We've only had great experiences at Peacock, and the record continues! Shahab is the consummate host -- always warm and welcoming to regulars and new customers alike. Also, ask for Marija (pronounced "Maria") if you go. She's very knowledgeable about the menu offerings, and is more than willing to make recommendations if you need them. I enjoyed the lightly-battered fried calamari for an appetizer, followed by the shrimp and spinach tagliatelle with saffron lobster cream sauce and sweet peas. My friend had the Peacock salad and the "torsh-o shirin" cod. We shared the chocolate volcano for dessert. Everything was delicious. Oh...great cocktail menu and wines by the glass, too!"

"We ate outside recently for lunch on a work day. The waiter did not write down our order, got it wrong when he repeated it back to us and there was predictable confusion when the food came out. A meal was missing, another was not correct.

"I went for Sunday brunch and the atmosphere was a see-and-be-seen vibe. The noise level was unbelievable, people literally yelling at each other to be heard. This restaurant has a serious noise issue that needs to be addressed. Would not return because not a pleasant dining experience at all. Also, I ordered the signature Eggs Benedict which came cold and rubbery and the side of shoestring fries was hard and stale. Clearly my dish had been sitting around for a while. This place is the most overrated restauurant I have been to in DC and the best thing about it is you can go next door to Cafe Milano, still be paying the same expensive amount but be served fresh food."

"The Peacock Cafe has the best breakfast/brunch in DC. Recently Chef Maziar has added Persian fair to the brunch menu (as he has to the dinner menu - the pistachio soup is absolutely fantastic and the Thursday all-Persian menu is a dining delight). "Though the three loud women beside us were distracting, the flavor of the food was enough to drown out their Sirenian screeching. The nachos with vegetarian chili was a prefect non-meat appetizer that was able to somehow simulate the filling qualities of a hearty chili without killing Lenten observances. My huge Hawaiian swordfish was cooked to perfect yet served on a pallet of overly-aromatic rice with an over-powering smell in itself. My father's portion of pistachio encrusted cod looked and he assured me it was wicked good. The prices seemed pretty high, but the staff was super-professional and seemed to genuinely like their job, which makes up for it. I would definitely recommend and come back with parents when I move here next year"

"Had lunch here with two friends, and one infant. We made a note in the reservation that we would need room for the stroller and they were extremely accommodating. The server was fantastic and responsive, even helped when leaving to get the stroller up the steps and out of the restaurant (for parents with strollers: there are two or so small steps to get into/out of restaurant).
The food was fantastic for lunch, if a little pricey (but it's to be expected for lunch in Georgetown). I've had lunch here once and dinner twice (once for my birthday, oh my goodness was the filet delicious!), and it's been fantastic every time.
Truly a great place to eat, and we even get catering from here for my office sometimes."

"Went here for the first time for an early sunday brunch. I had the Steak and Eggs with string cut french fries. It was very good. No compaints. Also had a banannachino drink from the fruit bar. Did not expect to like the bannanna/coffee combination as much as I did. My mom had the Duck Hash (fried potatoes, duck meat, duck eggs) and a drink called red zinger (beet,ginger,apple, ?). I tried the duck and it was excellent. Not at all the greasy meat I remember duck to be. Instead it had a deep, mellow taste. I also tried the drink but it was not for me. The atmosphere feels slightly upscale, but still very friendly and accessifble. The waitress was very attentive and freindly. Had a great meal and a great time. I would definitely return."

"We love Peacock for brunch, but found dinner to be a little lacking. The food was fine - nothing noteworthy, nothing especially tasty, nothing we'd order again or recommend ( with the exception of dessert). We ordered 2 appetizers, 1 salad, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, so we had variety across the menu, but really only liked the cookie and ice cream for dessert. "Let me start off by saying that it was perfect! They are a cute little restaurant that was perfectly fancy for the occasions. The service was great! Our server was very concerned with how things were but she wasn't hovering. She also tried her best to accommodate to the gluten-free. She also stood out in the rain and flagged down a cab for us. It was truly great service. The menu was also excellent. There are many gluten-free options, including gluten-free pasta. It is an overall great menu with a wide range of prices that are very affordable. The only thing that I can think of that was bad with the Peacock Café was that they could not substitute for the bread for the gluten-free folks. Overall I loved the Peacock Café!!"
