The only classic French restaurant in Vail for 40 years. The Left Bank serves up the finest French cuisine prepared from scratch from the finest ingredients. Everything is fresh never frozen. Select an amazing wine at a fair price from our world renowned wine list! Bordeaux's, Burgundy's or selections from California are sure to please from $39 per bottle and up.
"Had such a wonderful meal here! The speciality of the house an amazing shrimp dish, was outstanding. It has been on the menu for 45 years! Our server was so sweet and attentive. We could not make up our mind about dessert so ordered both chocolate and Grande Marne soufflés and the pear tart. All three were "lick your plate clean" good. The wine by the glass was excellent, too. By the way, try to get a table by the windows…the view is gorgeous!"

"Disappointing evening. This restaurant is a shadow of what it once was. The open secret as to how to prepare great traditional French cuisine is simple. Fresh ingredients prepared to order. Not one dish we ordered was fresh or prepared to order. Cuisine is promised. Food is served. The less said about the service, the better. One can only hope that the owners decide to make their retirement official and sell the venture to someone who understands that when folks pay $100+ apiece for a nice dinner, bland, warmed up, pre-cooked dishes do not meet expectations. The view of the creek is lovely. But there are many, much better alternatives within mere yards of this once splendid venue."

"Food was amazing! Service was excellent. The decor is not so great. Feels more like dated French country instead of Paris which the name would imply. Our server said they will be completely redesigning the interior to be more modern and contemporary to better match the food, the name and attract a younger hipper crowd."

"I've lived in the Vail Valley since 1976 and The Left Bank has always provided excellent food as well as fantastic service in a beautiful setting. They have a huge wine list featuring hundreds of delicious French wines. The 4 of us all ordered different entrees and everything was fresh and delicious, including the raw oysters that were some of the tastiest I've ever had. One of Vail Valley's best and most "famous" dining establishments, not to be missed on your next trip to Vail!"

"The restaurant has changed hands since I dined there in past years and rated it my favorite...service was friendly, but seemed unorganized...food choices did not include elk or calves liver (our favorites) ...our wine by the glass was painfully slow (arriving long after our meal was served). I've never sent anything back, but my beef tartar was too spicy hot to eat - the waiter said it was the fourth to be sent back that night and very nicely replaced it with a salad...I would not recommend the restaurant now...I wish the new owner well, but would suggest she look back at how the lady who owned it for so many years made it so successful."

"Although the place doesn't have the cachet of some of Vail's fine dining spots, and it's not cheap, the food and service really are excellent. Ideal for a quiet, romantic dinner for two, especially when a break from "chic" and "noisy" is called for."

"We enjoyed the food and the service. The tables were a bit close which made movement somewhat difficult and increased the noise level. The closeness also meant that conversations could be inadvertently overheard, even when one did not desire to hear it."

"My friends were not that impressed with the Elk course. Lobster bisque too much creme. Wine list very pricy. Daily special should be printed with prices, we got a real surprise when bill came."

"This is old school French food, though the duck confit/duck breast was just poorly prepared and in fact was probably not even prepared as confit but seemed rather to have been cooked in wine like a coq au vin. The restaurant has a nice ambience and strong wine list. One of the four of us very much enjoyed his main course and my wife enjoyed her salad. Overall, an okay dining experience with a disappointing main course. Strong wine list with reasonable prices -- especially relative to other wine lists in Vail!"

"We go here each year we are in Vail. Everything was fine with 1 exception: The roasted duck entree was over priced at $59. I know French food is always expensive, but this duck was not much different from what I cook at home for lots less money.
We will return next year-I won't order the duck."

"We were a group of five and visited the restaurant on a friday night of the presidents weekend. We were surprised to find the restaurant was half full when most other restaurants were booked out. The ambience is quite old fashioned and tranditional and thereofore seemed tired. The food was very nice , but traditional French with the waiters who wore quite old fashioned uniforms and stiff in their manner.
The meal was the most expensive we paid in Vail for the week and the most dissatisfied compared to where else we ate.
We were disappointed overall and felt this restaurant needs a makeover and uplift to be more contemporary."

"I gave a detailed review on Tripadvisor. The service was awful (we waited for more than 30 minutes for the first glass of wine, which was spilled while the server poured it and he didn't clean it up. We ate dinner with a red, soiled tablecloth. My veal chop ($56.00) was fatty and, for some reason, came to the table cut into two odd-shaped pieces. My wife got the surf and turf, represented to be a half lobster and beef ($46.00). The steak was average but the half lobster was actually half a lobster shell filled what what seemed to be an effort at lobster cake, which was bready and very disappointing. We told the waiter how we felt about it but all we got was the check and him saying he would tell the chef.
It was an awful dinne"
