"It is not at all elegant and obviously it is meant just for tourists who want to get the 48th floor 360 degrees scene of NYC.
I did not appreciate the prix fix menu.
The waiter all of a sudden came to me with a lobster dish he was going to serve to a nearby table just to show me their special for today although I didn't ask or even wonder how it was like."

"The restaurant is enclosed in a glass outer shell that obstruct the view most of the time .hostess was very rude checking us in.however the front desk person right in front of elevator is exceptionally nice and friendly.... His mane is Noel and the manager was also very nice . Bartender is very slow and our waitress is nice but not very attentive or quick. Gnocchi and crab cake was fantastic. Filet mignon and salmon was nothing to rave about. Overall below average ambience , food and service."

"We heard a lot about the restaurant and made a booking though we didn't find the prices on the web site of restaurant. It was a big surprise to know that the price is about 80$ per person for 3 course menu. Plus glass of wine and plus tip it gives about 230$ for dinner of two persons.
The food was very tasty but the size of the dishes was very small. So the value for money is very bad."

"Girlfriends and I ate here on a Saturday night whilst visiting New York - the only good thing about it was the view and our waitress! The food was good but had better, if you don't like being really cold, wear a sweater in case like us you are sat under the air conditioning units which circle the whole floor of the restaurant and which it seems they cant adjust - nor were they willing to move us! I would recommend going here only for a drink to experience the view or possibly lunch!"

Food is good, service pleasant, Somellier chose wine for us for each course and it was excellent. We had fixed price three course for $79, wine with each course $30 each. Yes it was expensive but for my birthday or special occasion, first time in NYC it was wonderful. We booked on line before leaving England and Darlene responded immediately and asked if we wanted flowers or champagne etc. Greete on the night with Happy birthday from front of house, which was nice! "We went on a Monday night at 7:00 pm and the welcome and overall service was very good and we weren't rushed and in fact we were able to eat in comfort without pressure of there being a second sitting. We managed two and a half revolutions of the restaurant before paying. The food was excellent as was the wine.
Disappointing were the overall views of New York and the Hudson river. We were also advised that dress attire was business casual but this was not adhered to and there were a lot of people in well worn jeans and trainers and if you were making this a special evening out to celebrate then you might be wondering why you bothered."

"I had read some differing reviews about “View” but we were really well looked after and the food was better than expected. The view from the restaurant was fantastic even though we didn’t get a seat right at the window, the ambience made up for it though. As a group of 9 our food was delivered hot and in a timely manner. The cost wasn't cheap but the food was really good and the "Birthday cake" was a nice touch which my wife really enjoyed."

"The dinner was good but the view was not really what we expected. We had visited the RC before so we had hoped for something similar. Sometimes we just saw into the buldings around us. So we thougt that the pricelevel was a bit to high.

"I recently visited the View restaurant at Times Square with my wife to celebrate our anniversary in connection with a long weekend in NYC. I had visited the restaurant once before, some 5 years ago. The place is very special due to the 360 degrees view, and we were lucky to get a window table (i had asked for it in before-hand). The quality of the food compared to my last visit was not the same. Rather OK instead of Great... The experience was a disturbed by several groups of guests, some with small children and most people not adhering to the dress code (business casual). It felt like the View has become more of a finishing point of a Manhattan day-tour, rather than an exclusive dining spot.
Still worth a visit, though."

"The food was pricy and not impressive at all! And the fact that if you had a reservation you HAD to have a 3 course meal but if you don't have reservation you don't have too? Now I know where I will tell people NOT to go! A so called tourist trap of the worse kind!"

"We came into NYC for our anniversary and really wanted to dine with a beautiful view of the city. Unfortunately, all you really see is the backs of unfinished buildings and a small glimpse of the river. Way too expensive for food we could have gotten in larger portions and higher quality somewhere else, and the view did not make up for it. Sorry, no recommendations here."

"WE celebrated our friend's birthday before theater. Staff was attentive and made sure we were on time for a 7PM curtain.

"We ate on the level where you have wait service (not the buffet floor that can be chaotic). It was an early dinner (6pm) after a 3pm show, so it was not crowded. We went there for the view and was not disappointed. The food was surprisingly good, and the service was quick and attentive. It is expensive though. Still, for what it is (mostly geared to tourists given the location), it is NYC's only revolving restaurant, with fantastic views, and fairly good food."

"Based on the prices versus the value of this restaurant you are definitely paying for the real-estate in stead of a dining experience. The fact the restaurant revolves is a nice commodity, but even with window seating you are unlikely to be impressed. The food was decent but for $100 a plate I would expect more.Plus, it was a VERY awkward close to the meal when our waiter or cashier "coincidentally" presented the check with forged total bill to include an additional tip amount for them. I would have expected this type of service it the back alley restaurants of New York, not the top of a prestigious hotel."

"Only bad thing i would say is that our waiter was kind of rude to myself and my wife for the first 25-30 minutes of our dinner. Besides that little complaint everything else was beautiful. Food was delicious and the view was perfect, we sat down just as the sun was ready to set and it was very romantic for us."

"My friends and I went to dinner here after seeing Jekyll and Hyde. We did the pre-fixe menu...3 courses for $79 each. That price does not include drinks. It was still a great deal! The food was delicious and the portions were just right. Also, the service was outstanding! Our waiters were engaging and friendly. I would definitely go back again."
