"We had not eaten at Hemingway's in over a year. We were spending the night at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress so we decided to try it again. It was as fabulous as in all the years past.. Love the ambiance, the drinks, the food, the whole experience was very enjoyable. Recommend the Papa Doble, a delicious rum drink. Though the portions were not large, it was more than sufficient with a salad. We will definitely visit again. Shrimp Scampi, though not served with traditional scampi sauce, was very delicious. Loved the fried green tomatoes that accompanied the dish."

"The service by Victor C. was excellent - explaining all the courses and making sure that we were well taken care of. This was our second visit within five days so convenient when staying at the Hyatt Grand Cypress. We would definitely return - a lovely choice be it seafood or meat."

"Was the third time here and I'm 3 for 3 with an excellent meal. This time with another couple with a healthy skeptecism about hotel restaurants. This restaurant sits apart from the main hotel area and amongst a tropical paradise. The dining area's outside perimeter is full of angles allowing for many tables by the window to take in the tropical exterior. Service was good as opposed to outstanding; perhaps our server this time was less experienced. Prior visits we had excellent service. I had the ceviche duo appetizer which was just the right amount with two types of fish and a light kick to the light salsa preparation. My wife and I split the lobster tails bolognese which were very tender."

"My wife and I went to Hemingways for our 8th anniversary. We were greeted by the hostess with "Happy Anniversary", and seated emediatly, at a table overlooking the landscape and facing the sunset. I recomend the crabcakes and scallops. There was never any want for anything, and they were there for our every dining need. For the main course, the Chef Jason graced us with his presence and explained the intricacys of the dish. Last but certainly not least was a delicious chocolate cake and peanut butter bomb desert, decorated specially for us with happy anniversary in chocolate writing. It was a great experience and I would definitely return. It earned major kuddo points with my wife and I was extremely happy with the food, service, and price."

"This was our fifth time here. We always seem to come when we are celebrating something, this time my husbands 40th birthday. The food, service and atmosphere is always amazing. Must try the crab cakes,mthey are delicious! Try to arrive early to grab a drink in the bar, the bartender can recommend wine to go with your dinner. Overall it was a great experience and my husband had a great time!"

"Hemmingway's was recommended by someone who hadn't been there for a few years, but the menu was just as good as we were told. Tthe calamari was the most tender I'd ever had. The crab cakes with grits were fabulous and the snapper was excellent as well. Atmosphere was great - I would definitely recommend for a special occasion or romantic dinner. Price was also not bad for the quality. I will pick this restaurant first when entertaining friends from out of town and when I want to treat myself to a great meal."

"While stayin at the Hyatt we decided to have a nice dinner at Hemingway's. there menu had diverse options for seafood. There were four in my party and everyone was pleased with there selections. "We almost didn't go as there are so many other places in the Orlando area, however, we are glad we did. Our rib eye was overlooked but they were quick to correct it. Other than that, no problem. They even comped dessert for the mistake....peanut butter/chocolate cake was magnificent. I had the crispie snapper which was well prepared. Service was great. A very good hotel restaurant."

"We had a lovely meal at Hemingways and look forward to returning one day. It's quite expensive but most good restaurants are in Orlando. The food was well presented and service excellent. The menu was varied and interesting and the waiter more than happy to assist when choosing. I would have awarded Hemingways 5 stars but our coffee arrived at the same time as our dessert - this may be the norm in Orlando, I'm not sure, but I would have liked the option of having coffee afterwards."

"I actually went to Hemingways all 3 nights I was staying at The Grand Cypress Hotel. Two nights I had dinner alone while my husband was at a conference and the last night I suggested that he and I have a nightcap on their screened patio Being alone I felt very comfortable. I asked the servers each time if the Chef could accommodate my dietary needed of broiled and little/ no butter. Both nights the food was great! I did not partake in the bread offering however the presentation was beautiful and I asked the waiter take it away before I was tempted. It was garnished with a brown paper bag and a sprig of rosemary. I love rosemary so I am sure the bread with butter was amazing. I would highly suggest this restaurant ."

"Enjoyed the Mother's day brunch. Food was superb!! Waiter was ok. Don't know if he was new or had to many tables, but did not find him very attentive. Rest of staff was very friendly and helpful. So glad Hemingway's went back to serving their fabulous brunch for Mother's day. Hope they do it again for Easter next year. Thanks to Lindsey for notifying me about the brunch."

"I have eaten here over the years as I travel through Orlando for business. I bring clients for a dinner. I must say I was a bit dissapointed this time with the meal. "Certainly it was a pleasant experience. The view was a little closed in, but in classic Disney style. The decor was excellent and the mood very comfortable. The service was quite acceptable although the server was pretty down to business, which for many would be perfect, but at times I prefer a little more humour. The food was excellent and artistically prepared, although it was a little on the bland side for my taste. I would definately go back as well as recommend it to others."

"Hemingway's is our favorite Florida restaurant. There's nothing dark and stuffy about this place. Huge windows, light wood, bright linens. It's classy without being pretentious. Definitely family friendly. This is a great place to teach the kids the difference between "eating" and "dining." While the steak selection my wife ordered was excellent, remember you're in Florida ... go for the outstanding seafood! Remember to get your valet parking ticket validated."

"Great loaction in the Hyatt, but the food did not measure up. Crab cakes had too much filler, sushi snapper & tuna were without taste. Paella seafood was dry and not much flavor. "We enjoyed our seafood. Very clean and well decorated. Service was not as professional as we would have expected. Our waiter did not know the wine very well and sommelier never came to help us. Great bar area. Very comfortable."

"We have been going to the Hyatt for years. We were not able to book our rooms this year due to an overflow of conferences. We did make sure to come to Hemingway's 3 times during our weeks vacation. Every single member of the staff makes you feel so welcome. The food is amazing as well. Its an experience by itself. It is not cheep, but food and service like this is not supposed to be."

"Took group of four. Restaurant located in Hyatt Resort. Surrounded by tropical platings and cascading water and sits out elevated looking down on the garden and water. All windows with larger setting areas and clustersof smaller tables all with great view.
Food was great. I had a stripped bass special. Heavy on seafood. Good service. Moderately priced as four meals with a couple drinks was around $200."

"We had a wonderful dinner & celebrated my wife's 60th in style. Very glad that she did research & found out. Crabcakes were recommended by Victor as 95% crab & he spoke the truth. We have never had better. Papa H. would be proud to see his name so well used & his seafood so spectacular."

"The hotel is nice and the restaurant has a charm to it surrounded by gardens on the outside. Since this is at the Hyatt, appetizers range in the teens and entrees start in the high 20s and up. I ordered the snapper for $28 and it was above average. We ordered the crab cakes for $12 and it was around 2.5 inch in diameter and 1 inch high. It tasted average. In the end, I would not go to this place again since the price is high for average food. The atmosphere is great though. Last, when I made the reservation via OpenTable for Valentine's Day, there was a note that stated a rose will be given to each party but such was not the case since there was no roses given to anyone. Do not know if it was error from the restaurant or OpenTable."

"Nothing wrong with this place - except they added $2 to my bill ($47 vs $45), which I expect will be fixed in a day or two - but it just doesn't match the competition. Much better off dining at Roy's.
