"I took my mother for brunch on Mother's Day 2013. We were seated at a table with a great view of the streetscape. The staff were wonderful and gracious, and couldn't be more helpful. I chose this place due to its food reputation, and specifically for its extensive brunch offerings. (Many place offer fixed price with limited selection.) There were a variety of options, including oysters, mussels, and shrimp!! There were healthy vegetarian items, too. Everything was good, but nothing struck me as outstanding. We enjoyed a leisurely meal, and the staff did not hurry us. All in all, very enjoyable. The bill was large (as expected), so be prepared to pay for the ability to eat your fill of a variety of food."

"We were thrilled with the selection of fishes onthe Turner menu. Our server was friendly, accomadating and very knowledgeable. The waitstaff did seem a touch understaffed, as we waited a little while for both menus and our main courses. All of the dishes were superb, I would highly recommend the bay scallops with spaetzle!"

"We were seated immediately and the staff was courteous and professional and did not hurry us for my birthday dinner. I had the baked lobster which was perfectly prepared. We shared an order of mussels which were delightful, plump, and in a very good sauce. The Boston creme pie was very dry and non traditional. We will return again."

"Food was delicious. I had the New England clambake. The lobster tail was already prepped so it made it very easy to eat. The server was friendly but seemed to spend more time at his other tables. The wait in bwtween courses was a bit excessive. We were a party of two. A little disappointed that they did not place a Birthday candle in my sister's dessert when I ahd asked them to. Would return next time to Boston."

"The service was impeccable--very knowledgable and helpful waiter. The appetizers were OK--not exceptional. The entrees--both of them--were just barely warm when served. We sent both back to the kitchen for a warm-up. When returned, they were just barely warm again. My companion sent his back a second time. The manager took over. When the dish was preented--a third time--it was barely acceptable. The dish was Turner's bouillabaise and the large bread piece within it--meant to sop up the juices--was dry and hard and burned to a crisp on the underside. The broth--which should have been exceptional--was a lackluster. Too bad! It is a nice place; nice ambience and convenient for us. I wish the food had been better!"

"Our dining experience at Turner's was as expected, enjoyable and satisfying. The food is really good and the waitstaff is always friendly and informative. We ate in the section that is glassed in with a view of the street, which is almost like eating outside."

"Welcoming staff and attentive service. Easter buffet was really good and different from most brunches. Great breads. Only negative was too many of hot dishes were barely warm - need to adjust heating elements?"

"unimpressive buffet, which was not well suited for children (or even teens), and on Easter, let's face it, there are kids around, even at a downtown restaurant. then, they restaurant overcharged our credit card! wouldn't go back."

"Service lovely; menu has some gems. We four ordered steamed lobsters -- neither hard to prepare nor wildly variable among lesser restaurants. We could well have gone downscale for that order (and probably should have). But the clam chowder is justifiably famous, and a golden beet carpaccio with chevre was standout. Fried calamari was a little more al dente than some would like, with the breading not quite crispy. And while the gelato was nice, the Boston Cream pie is a nouvelle interpretation -- not a bad dish, but not sufficiently memorable to overcome the surprise of stepping away from tradition. Vegetable side dishes were notable, particularly the edamame succotash, which worked well as a substitute for the summer favorite. A-/B+"

"The food was not very good. The place was empty, and the waiter just hovered over us felt as he was annoyed with our decisions. Years ago it was my favorite seafood restaurant"

"The beet appetizer and clam chowder were very good. The bass was a bit dry. The tuna was good. The cappucino was a great way to end the meal. Thanks for a lovey dinner."

"Service was awful. Had to ask waiter for menu, he was rude and it was different from online menu. When asked about an item from online menu was answered "we don't have it" in a rude manner. Food was extremely overpriced and very poor quality. My entre was burned."

"Sea food was fresh and presumably local, which is a good thing. Preparation was by and large unimaginative. A typical downtown upscale, but "industrial hospitality" venue. Convenient, decent, comfortable, but not special."

"I went for the world champion clam chowder and it did not disappoint. I do NOT like a heavy, gunky, loaded with junk, clam chowder. This was the perfect consistency - not heavy but not too light either... beautiful clam flavor with a very subtle "bite" that was just lovely. Lots of clam. A few veggies but not too many. Just perfect.
Then I had the clam bake and that included a lobster tail, 2 lobster claws, clams, mussels over a light corn broth. Really, really, REALLY good.
Service bordered on being too attentive but was nice.
Good wine, too."

"The ambiance was great as the design of the place is really mellow and relaxing and it couples well with the music that is played. The noise level compliments this relaxed setting and it makes it a great place for a date as you can actually hear the person you are with. Great location as it is so central and near a lot of bars and places to go out afterwards.
The food was good and we actually had all of the specials as it was some of our favorites. I had the trout which was served over shrimp fried rice and was simple yet good and let the flavor of the fish stand out. They also were doing $1 oysters and that was a great day and had several of them. The food is a little overpriced, but still pretty good."

"With the reviews we read, we were expecting a much better quality of food, service and atmosphere. They didnt have the ingredients for 2 of the speciality drinks on the menu, took forever for food to come and our waiter was an equalivant of Herman Munster. Over all they got 2 stars from us ONLY because we were excited to be in Boston! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT ROMANCE!"

"The food was mediocre but it had a nice atmosphere. I ordered the salmon entre with potatoes. The fish was served on top of top of the potatoes with a sauce that made everything soggy under the fish. The presentation was nice but the potatoes had no seasoning and were only made worse by how soggy they were."
