"This was my 4th visit to The Rivue. The location and view are outstanding, the food is good and the service is exceptional. We have always been very satisfied with the service, food and price. This last sitting on May 10, 2013, we had a party of 7. One of the seven meals, the Cog au Vin, was returned to the kitchen. This was the first time my father ever returned a meal. The chicken was very dry (although all dark meat was requested) and there was no sauce. Every other time Cog au Vin has been my father's choice for a meal, all over the world, it comes with a sauce. This version has no sauce. Regardless, the server brought him something else and we were not charged for this one meal. I will return another time."

"For an absolutely first class fine dining experience, Rivue offers it all. My lady and I were celebrating her birthday and were treated as celebrity by the staff at Rivue. The atmosphere was romantic , the service impeccable , and the dining was beyond delicious . The Rivue restaurant and lounge exudes class from the time you step off the elevator at the top of the nostalgic Galt house. The staff was as gracious and accomadating with what was a menu of taste , texture, and delight.The best dining experience and celebration my lady and I have ever experienced in Louisville. A true gem, Rivue will always be our first recommendation to friends and family for the ultimate dining experience, five star plus... *****+"

"We went their the day after derby and assumed it would be busy. For the most part it was, however they never reached capacity. I had requested a revolving window table when I made my reservations thru IpenTable. Whenever we arrived there were plenty of empty tables at the windows but we were told we could not have one. I feel that if I would have called them personally and made the request it would have been honored but since I went thru this site we were not good enough for those seats."

"We have lived in Louisville for 10 years and have never tried Rivue. We finally had the opportunity to this past weekend with some friends. The revolving restaurant sounded kind of kitschy but it was actually quite nice. The food was very good and our waiter was very warm and friendly. The actual time from being seated to leaving the restaurant was about 3 and a half hours. A bit too long and we were ready to go by the time they rolled the "complimentary candy cart" our way. Overall, it was a great experience and I would not hesitate to go back...I'd just make sure that we set aside enough time for the evening."

The only problem was that we were seated next to a family of 4 with 2 small children who were loud and the parents let them run all around. Not the restaurants fault but the fault of the parents. We were there for a romantic evening and it kind of got ruined by the kids. The parents should have handled their children. We have kids and grandkids and there is time and place for playing, its not at a nice restaurant."

"The same goes for EVERY restaurant: Either people start leaving the kids at home with sitters OR restaurants start providing no kid zones just like non smoking areas. There is nothing worse than dressing up for a special occasion, going to a a nice place and dropping that kind of money just to have it ruined by screaming kids running around like apes. Parents ARE responsible for their children's behavior and restaurant owners ARE responsible to their diners to provide the ambiance they advertise."

"We had seen mostly positive reviews but a few stating it was overpriced and not that good. We almost didn't go because of that. However, we were visiting Louisville for the first time and decided to go for the experience. We were very glad we did. We both had fish, which was excellent. It happened to be 1/2 price night for bottles of wine, which was a bonus. Service was attentive without being intrusive. We will visit again next time we are in town."

"The 25th floor at the Galt House has been up-graded and looks like a supper club from the 40's. The wood panelled walls, black granite floor, and the lighted reception hall table support that elegant feel. Piano player in the bar area with white leather seating jsut make it more so. However, the Lobby of the hotel does not have the "feel of an up-scale restaurant". That can be a bit disconcerting if you have never been to Rivue before.
Our dinner was very pleasant and the food was very good. Service was competent but not "professional" - maybe a bit to casual for an up-scale restauant. I don't want it stuffy but professional and attentive would have been appreciated."

"We went to Rivue for our Valentines dinner. We had reservations for 9pm, as we figured it would be less crowded and a more pleasant atmosphere. The service was terribly slow, and they were at one third capacity at best. The filet was great, the chicken was a leg and thigh. Very disappointing. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and were charged for a bottle and a glass. When I brought this up, he said "I thought it looked high, but I couldnt figure it out". There was 5 items on our check, how could he not see it. We felt it was intentional and he was hoping we wouldnt notice. He lost his total tip for that insult of my intelligence and awareness. We will not be returning. Next year we are going back to Vincenzo's. Very frustrating visit."

"Although I enjoyed my meal, my fiance did not. Her fish was overcooked and very bland, the couscous was mushy and flavorless. Our server was informed of the problem, he stated that he would be right back with a menu so she could order another dish. He did not return for some time. We thought it best that we just pay our bill and leave. The server was initially very pleasant if not a bit intense for a Valentines day dinner. He became noticeably aggravated when we asked to send back the poorly prepared fish."

"We were lucky enough to arrive while it was still daylight and leave after sunset. It was a beautiful evening looking out over Louisville and the river. The candy cart was great at the end of our meal, especially since we didn't order dessert. We enjoyed the experience so much that we are bringing out of town guests this coming weekend."

"The one word to describe the Rivue experience is patience. We had a 7:30 reservation which meant we would be seated by 7:52. The food was good, but it took sooo looong to get it! The atmosphere and the rotating restaurant cannot be beat, it was a very good experience to sit and enjoy the ever changing view. Overall, it was a good experience, but make sure you are ready to wait, wait, and wait."
