"The atmosphere at Maggiano's is truly old style Italian. The wait staff are professional and know you are there to socialize with your family and enjoy a great meal, without having to ask them for anything, they just come and provide the service.

"I only went because mt husband choose this restaurant for father's day. They were not prepared. We waited for 30 minutes, before we got our salad. Had to ask for bread. Food was not good, ordered some else and the noodles were warmed up on the microwave, no sauce on the noodles. Has to ask for refill of water."

"We usually go to Maggiano's to celebrate special occasions. Previously we had a wonderful experience. This time the service was not very good. We had to ask for drink refills. We had to ask for coffee. When we got home we discovered that all our leftovers had not been put in the containers. Hopefully this was a one time occurrence."

"For a "chain reataurant", Maggiano's is one of the best. The 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. Servings are huge, so make sure you're hungry when you go. Among us we had spagetti and a gigantic meat ball, seafood canniloni and gnocchi. The canniloni was 'burned' around the edges however. After I pointed this out to the server, the manager immediately showed up at the table [less then a minute] offering to replace or 'comp' it -- mistakes do happen but they didn't let them linger.
Service can be a little hectic when the place is full, as it was but they do manage to remain attentive. We were there early on a Wed. evening, reservations may be a good idea at all times."

"Dinner was excellent as always but, the server forgot our drinks. We got through the bread and through our salad before we saw him again to ask for the drinks we ordered half an hour before. The food was amazing and I would never leave without eating the baked ziti and the tiramisu."

"We dined here for lunch on a Sunday. We were able to sit outside on their nice, but small patio. The service was great. And the lunch choices were delicious, especially the flatbread pizza. I would definitely come back as well as recommend this restaurant."

"Fifteen of us recently enjoyed a wonderful meal at Maggiano's - Durham. We were there to celebrate the retirement of a colleague and it was great. I had to change the reservation at the last minute and the staff at Maggiano's could not have been more accommodating. The food was excellent, the wait staff was superb. "My husband and I made reservations beforehand and arrived 5 minutes early, yet we still had to wait to be seated for over 25 minutes. Very disappointing. Fortunately, the food was terrific. We ordered the mozzarella appetizer which is one of the best I've eaten. For entrees, I had the Salmon Oscar and my husband had the Veal Steak; both were perfectly cooked and quite delicious. Overall, once seated, we enjoyed a pleasant, relaxed dinner."

"Atmosphere is awesome .. as well as the service !!! Its a bit pricey, but well worth it , I think. Since it was my 1st experience dining at Maggiano's ... I would definitely say that I would go again ! The Chicken Marsala was fabulous and was a large portion. My friend got the salmon and was very pleased as well. Our waitress was exceptable and so humble. Answered a dozen questions about the menu without hesitation , lots of patience !!"

"Maggiano's is my daughter's restaurant so what better place to bring her, family and friends for her 8th grade graduation. Our waiter (who's name I can't remember-sorry) was jut great. We ordered a family style dinner and all of the food was delicious - as always. Thank you Maggiano's for making my daughter's graduation dinner just perfect!!!"

"Im from NYC & frequently dine in Little Italy. I was apprehensive about the authenticity of Maggianos but man oh man what an amazing dining experience! I went with relatives and tasted a bit of everyones food, I loooove Italian fare and Maggianos hit the mark! The food was delicious, the wine was perfect, the Tiramisu was heavenly!! I left there overstuffed and very satisfied. Brought home the leftovers and they were just as delicious for lunch the next day!"

"Maggiano's is a good restaurant...there's no doubt. I like the deals there and...you never ever, ever leave hungry. They have the pasta(eat one take home another) to which you could have leftovers for a week afterwards. Took a bottle of wine with me. A corking fee of $15 was added to the bill. This is average for this area. A friend in California says $10 is average out there. The service was good to warrant a 20% gratuity. I still think restaurant's like Pop's in Durham, trilussa la trattoria in Chapel Hill are better but for traditional Italian it's very good. Make sure you have first priority seating by using Open Table. Otherwise on weekends, it can be a long wait for peak times."

"I have been to Maggiano's up in Tysons Corner in Northern, VA they have always had top quality service and food, and the Durham location is no different. The food was to die for, and the staff really made us feel special even though the restaurant had a 90 minute wait for walk-ins. So make sure to make reservations! Or Waitress was the spot by not bothering us when we did not need service, yet was there when we needed something. She treated our 2 year-old wonderfully, and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed to make my wife's birthday dinner wonderful."

My wife orders "add peperoni & sliced mushroom with extra pizza sauce (heated) on the side."
And I order "double sausage, onions & sliced mushrooms with the same sauce on the side."
Each time, either mine or her's is prepared wrong by missing ingrediants or putting my onions on her peperonis.

"Our second visit to a Maggiano's. Food was extremely plentiful and good. Ambiance a bit off - maybe because host was kind of withdrawn. Our waiter, Marcos, made it an enjoyable 33rd anniversary occasion. Maybe it was because we were there between 1:`15 and 2:30 PM, but I found the emptying and restocking of the wine section to be distracting.
So, we enjoyed the occasion. And I would say again that our waiter helped us enjoy the day because he took time to explain and support. If not before, we plan to visit in Boca Raton!"

"Went there for a special occasion. Caesar salad was lackluster. Hardly any dressing, store bought croutons and mostly stems of romaine lettuce (no good green leafy parts). Ordered chicken marsala, two tiny chicken breasts with a side of pasta. Over priced for the amount given. This was our third time dining at this restaurant. Enjoyed previous visits, but this time was disappointing."

"I am a transplant from the northeast, and was raised with a very shy palate. In other words, it was meat and potatoes in my house growing up, all the time. I have definitely expanded my tastes since moving around (Philly, Boston), but I still like really good food. We've been to tons of places in CH that are honestly too snooty for their own good; hence food that scares me! Even at some local chain type places (that get nothing but the hairy eyeball around CH)! Now, finally, a delicious and imaginative meal that tasted great too... Was that too much to ask??"

"This was me and husbands second trip to this restaurant and the food is awesome. I was a little upset about the time it took my food to reach me. I ordered my food and the table next did at the same time, but they recieved their food about and were eating desert before I recieved mine. I was later told by the waiter that he had put the order in wrong and that was the reason for the delay but it was only after so much time past. I just would have been happier if the waiter (once he realized his error) should have come over and explained what the hold up was. My first experience would be the only reason why I would come back but if my second time at this restaruant was my first I would not be going back."

"Maggiano's Durham is our go-to place for special occasions. Our son graduated high school on Saturday and we took our whole gang, friends and family...the food was incredible. Samantha our server was amazing, what a gem and a wonderful personality. Our glasses were full always, food hot each time, we never had to ask for a thing. There was another gentleman there assisting her who worked very hard and made us laugh. It's not just a restaurant, it's an experience! And, the only Italian restaurant my step-father from Siracusa, Sicily will go to - even though we have to drive almost an hour each way from Johnston County to get there. Grazie!"

"We went there for our anniversary and were treated extremely well. They gave us a free entree to take home and also gave us a free dessert (tiramissou) which was unexpected. The food is excellent and they give you really large portions, very good value for the money. The service is always first rate. The manager of the restaurant came over to our table to ask how we enjoyed our experience. You don't get that at most restaurants."

"Service was slow at best and the food was not near the standard enjoyed a dozen other times at other locations. Chicken Saltimboca seemed incorrect in every way. The dish was horrible by comparison to other times ordered and was swimming in a sauce that was a mix of tomatoes, parsley, marsala wine and butter. Something was mentioned but nothing done to correct the issue. We asked for smaller portions to avoid waste but we were served double portions on everything. Every dish we ordered was either swimming in sauce or over cooked. Yet, we gave up with things taking much longer than they should and wanting to get back to the hotel because of the next day. Not their best night from our seats."

"Maggianos is in the heart of Southpoint Mall. After a long day of shopping, Maggianos was a few steps from our favorite stores. We ordered various "flights" of food to share and at reasonable price points. The cocktail I had ordered was not to my satisfaction, without even asking, the manager asked if there was another cocktail I would like to try. I was served a raspberry martini, which is a new favorite at Maggianos. Always good service, and always at a reasonable price, with food to take home and enjoy another night!"

"After going to this Maggianos for over 10 years, we noticed that the spicach and artichoke dip recipe has changed. It wasn't as good as the first time. The last time the portion seemed to be cut in 1/2 but this time there was more of a basic dip than those we remember the first time that 'WOWED' us. The bread that comes with it has been as hard as a rock to bite into and we chose the table bread. There wasn't even enough of the over cooked bread to eat the dip with.It was a place would could not wait to go to even though it was over an hour away. It will be a long time before we travel that far for 'par' itialian food."
