Fearing’s Restaurant opened at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas in August 2007 and was named No. 1 in Hotel Dining by Zagat’s 2009 U.S. Hotels, Resorts, and Spas Survey just 15 months later. "There were outstanding parts of each plate.
The antelope was okay... not seasoned enough for me. The rabbit enchiladas, however, were amazing. Ribeye was good... the mop sauce was great but the flavor of the meat was nothing off the charts. The corn bread pudding was delicious, however. There are superb parts to each but together, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting.
I think the problem is when your restaurant makes the top 100 in the United States, the stakes just get higher and the expectation is just too much."

"Very crowded with large groups attending conference at hotel. Maitre d' did best to accomodate after we rejected the worst table for two in the room.(only one not yet occupied). Nicely seated in table for four after mentioning chef Fearings name. Excellent tacos with great salsa verde. Steak (It is Dallas!) was very nicelly seasoned, but the halibut had some many flavors and garnishes going on it was hard to concentrate on the fish. (Reminded me of the old Jimmy Schmidt days at Rattlesnake Club!) Adequate wine list at reasonable prices, a few astronomically high priced bottles top the list. Might go back when the room is not so busy.. Can't Dallas handle a full house?"

"A great restaurant, a must-eat-at when in Dallas. Dean is a great host, knows food, loves his guests, and suggestions are always right on the mark. The staff are all great, knowledeable and so incredibly helpful. The first courses are fabulous; a taste teaser of what's to come. For the main cousrse last visit I had the pork chop (off the menu); never before have eaten pork as moist or flavorful. The only down side is that I may never be able to eat pork anywhere else. The accompanyments went perfectly (I don't even remember what they were). My daughter had the bone in rib-eye...so flavorful...wow. And the accompanying jalapena bread pudding is so good. After all that unbelievable food, we couldn't think of passing up desert...fantastic."

"Elegant, delicious, outstanding Southwest cuisine!! From the Mopped Ribeye to the Salmon and all the out-of-this-world starters, simply the best! The desserts are as yummy as they get and there is no stopping the imagination of Jill, the pastry chef. And you can't enjoy all this deliciousness without an incredible wine to top it off - just ask for Paul and he will take great care of you! Dean can't do all this without some help - Eric, Sous Chef extraordinaire, is right up front! The staff at Fearing's makes you feel at home and doesn't miss a beat!! Friendliest place ever! Can't say enough about Fearing's!! Love it!"

"I chose this restaurant to celebrate Mother's Day and had an excellent experience. I called ahead to have flowers on the table, and they were very helpful, offering a variety of price-points and flower options for me from their floral provider, Bella Flora. When we arrived and were guided to our table, the bouquet was amazing. It had several flowers that neither of us could name but were absolutely beautiful. As for the food, it was perfect although one could hardly expect less from the restaurant within the Ritz-Carlton. The service was wonderful, from the door-to-door valet to the gentleman who unobtrusively and continually filled our water glasses. This was not my first experience with Fearing's, and I sorely hope it will not be my last."

"We decided on this restaurant for our Anniversary celebration and was so glad that we did! Dean Fearing gave us an Anniversary Card signed personally and came by our table and spoke with us for a few minutes. The entire evening was elegant but also with a casual feeling of not being 'stuffy' at all. This restaurant cuisine is unlike any other and is well worth the money spent especially if for a special occasion. We will definitely return."

"I invited my friend to celebrate his 50th birthday and t was a smash hit at Fearings! The staff was so fabulous bringing a glass of champagne from thin air and then seated us a t a wonderful table..they are all great. Then the action began with the most incredible food, service and fun!!
My friend being a foodie has dined at every name in Dallas with 5 * but he did not realize he just had the best dining experience of them all in Dallas at Fearings!!
So it was a great day for me as I made the best choice as well as for him!

"The service was precise and timely, yet not rushed. The waitress could not have been nicer. On her recommendation, I ordered the classic tortilla soup, with its 30 year history of fame. Unfortunately it was a bit too spicy to my taste, and I mentioned it and it was immediately replaced by a safe Caesar salad. The main course was salmon, done to perfection as ordered (medium rare) on a bed of crunchy polenta cake and spinach with a spinach taco that was to die for. Having no more room for desert, I was still given a tasty chocolate bon bon which melted in the mouth. The nice touch of free parking was a bonus. I would definitely make this a destination restaurant."

"This is the sort of place where waiters are always standing by to pull out and push in your seat. This is a fancy restaurant in every sense of the word, with prices to match. The waiters hover obediently and the entrees are priced at $44-48 each. The buffalo steak I ordered rare was cooked to perfection. Appetizers were equally superb. Antelope is also offered on the menu. If you are looking for a special place to celebrate a special occasion, this is it. For anything else, it may be a little over the top. This is NOT a casual restaurant."

"Main Course was delicious, Buffalo tenderloin. Appetizer was oysters, not bad. Somalier had good advice on wine. Service was by committee, which was effective but the experience was not personal. "In Dallas for a conference and a little research suggested Fearings for dinner. We were greeted by Dean Fearing himself and he answered our questions about the menu. We split an appetizer of crabcakes, duck and lobster tacos that was excellent. My husband had the antelope with rabbit tacos and I had the halibut in lobster sauce. Both were excellent. I wish that he would open a restaurant in NYC!"

"Our experience here was quite dissappointing. The service was excellent. We never needed to ask for anything. The food on the other hand was not worth the money we paid. The Lobster bisque was quite good but the "famous" tortilla soup tasted liek it was out of a can. It was sour and didn't have alot of flavor. My husband ordered the filet and chicken fried lobter. The filet was tender but didn't have any flavor. The lobster was so rubbery he had a hard time cutting it and chewing. I ordered the bone-in ribeye. It was ok, but honestly, I've had better steak at chili's and it wouldn't have cost me $50. The sides that came with the steak were great. But that was not worth the money. Again, overall, very dissappointing."

"There is an option to dine in a quiet room, which I very much appreciate. At this price level, I don't want to have to shout. You will have to forgo your diet for this meal, but it is worth it. Servings are huge, including appetizers. The fried Blue Point oysters are served on spinach in the shell, in Fearing's version of oysters Rockefeller, and they are the best fried oysters you will ever eat. Service is more casual than, say, the French room, but every bit as attentive."

"Fearings continues to be our favorite restaurant in Dallas. The food & service are always consistently excellent. Andrew their sommelier always has a great recommendation for a tasty bottle of wine. Our favorites are the Lobster Nachos (on the bar menu but you can order in the restaurant as well), Quail, Buffalo & Nilgal. Every dessert we have tried has been delicious but the banana pudding with biegnets is my favorite. Also, they have the best coffee in Dallas, very hot & with warm cream. I also love that Dean is always making the rounds in the dining rooms to make sure all his guests are happy. One more interesting note is that they have 3 different rooms that all have a different feel. Our favorite is the one closest to the kitchen."

"We requested a reservation for 5 simply in a quiet part of the restaurant at lunch for a business meeting. We arrived to find a beautifully set table in a gorgeous wine room which could be shut off from the main dining area noise while retaining the outside light and view. The staff was attentive and kept the doors closed and the music down in the wine room so we could proceed with business. The food was creatively spectacular and very reasonably priced. My only regret was that it was a work day and there was no time to linger with a nice glass of wine; or two. Fearing's is truly a Dallas gem where the details are all correctly addressed."
