"We spent our 2013 Mother's Day at The Ritz. The location and style of the restaurant was just what we were looking for! Great vibe with a 1920 feel and wonderful decor. Our first course (Mixed salad) was perfect could not of asked for anything more. I was disappointed to find no chicken or vegetation option on the main course menu. Unfortunately the kitchen was unable to substitute chicken for any of the fish or red meat and I ended up with plain pasta :( . Not what I was expecting for the 55 dollar price tag. Other than that the experience was fun and I know my mom and family had a blast."

"I have lived in the area for closed to 30 years and Ritz is THE restaurant to take out of town guests and special occasions. Now that the Irvine Co is evicting it, it is sad to see it go!
On the Mother's Day Sunday brunch the restaurant was BUSY! I had 8 guests in total and the service was bearable. The restaurant over sold their capacities and we felt the squeeze. Chairs were not the norm. The charter plates were missing at tables. However, the selection on the Brunch menu was still the same.
Somehow, the busy restaurant didn't give me the same old feeling of the OLD Ritz like the good ole days. May be it is time for the Ritz to close and relocate to another location. It is lacking the old glitters....sad to say but truth hurts."

"A step back in time - a restaurant with all the right stuff but probably would not appeal to the younger crowd that likes noise and anything 'trendy' - great bartenders - martinis, manhattans rule - not a piece of kale to be found on the menu - on the expensive side and the diners are generally old Newport monied folks. Such a shame that Donald Bren wants to give them the boot in favor of his favorite designer building and a spa. I was served the berst Osso Buco I've ever had and the wait staff is knowledgeable on all fronts. Great spot for a 'power lunch' as well."

"The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We often prefer the pre set Menu. The food and service is excellent. I always recommend it to my friends. I always was sitting inside, but my friends like the outside patio as well . I like the live music. Looking forward to go as soon as possible."

"Ritz is a very elegant old style restaurant, and I mean "old style" in a good way. Richly decorated with a very comfortable feeling and a wait staff that is second to none. For a special event, we went for a birthday, or any other time this is a great choice. The menu is varied, and they have pre fixe choices also that are a good value. The Ritz will exceed all you expectations."

"The Ritz is as much a landmark as dining experience. There were so many wait staff that I was never sure if we had one or 4. Not a problem, but a bit confusing. Food was fabulous and staff were attentive to requests. The soufflé was denser than I recall, but delicious. The one drawback, and it was MAJOR, was the live music. TOO LOUD AND INTRUSIVE. We came to celebrate my birthday, but conversation was virtually impossible with a one man broadway show."

"From the moment I entered this restaurant I was made to feel welcome, the staff was very accomodating after learning it was my first time here they gave me the best table available and my server Lisa was very nice and attentive, even giving me a tour of the restaurant before I left, I was already impressed before I even tasted the food. I started off with the Ritz egg which is truly a masterpiece of deliciousness, then I had the evenings prix-fixe meal which was salad, prime rib and dessert, each round was truly inspirational. I am now a devoted Ritz fan and wish that I hadn't waited this long to savor the excellence that is The Ritz Restaurant."

"The management of The Ritz challenged the community to support local-based restaurants. We made reservations for 6 through Open Table. We were placed at a table next to the band where we could not hear each other speak. When we asked to be relocated, we were placed outside on a cold evening. We were the only ones forced to eat outside. Not only was it cold, the service was atrocious. We had to go find a server to pay our bill. This was not our prior experience with The Ritz but it will be our last experience. In asking for community support, The Ritz has apparently forgotten that an important element of a successful business is good food and good service. Being a local restaurant does give them an entitlement to ignore these basics"

"This is the most wonderful place to have a beautiful lunch or dinner. Also, we were fortunate to attend a 60th wedding anniversary party at the Ritz a couple of months ago. Again, absolutely beautiful and service impecable!!!!!! I love The Ritz. "We've been celebrating our wedding anniverary at the Ritz for 19 years. This was our 20th celebration dinner. We had asked, in advance, for a nice booth near the live music. The Ritz did put us in a booth in the same room as the live music. However, we were so far away from the musicians, that we could neither see them nor hear the music. The noise from the other diners was such that we could barely hear our own conversation. My wife and I both agreed that this would be our last celebration at the Ritz. It is unfortunate since we have had many memorable experiences there."

"The Ritz Restaurant has been the epitome of Orange County fine dining for over 35 years. With restaurants coming and going every year, that says a lot.
My partner and I celebrated our 32 anniversary there and everyone from the hostess to the wait staff sincerely and respectfully congratulated us. The manager made a special effort to come by our table and make sure everything was perfect.
The crab, shrimp and lobster appetizers were amazing with big chunks of seafood. Both our steaks were cooked to perfection. Souflee was wonderful.
Everything about the evening, the food, the ambiance and the service was outstanding. I can't think of anything that could have been better."

"I went for OC Restaurant Week and for $20 had Greek salad, spaghetti & meatballs, and trio of desserts(flourless chocolate cake w/raspberry sauce, cheesecake, & ?). I also added a pomegranate martini. The restaurant filled up for lunch but still never seemed loud. My dining companion ordered lobster bisque, seafood mixed grill, same dessert. The atmosphere is opulent, old school, the menu is filled with a variety of standards that don't speak to each other but have probably made patrons happy over the years. The prices on the lunch menu range from $12-$18. The front of the house are all women "of a certain age" in black & white. I imagine they have worked there for decades. The Ritz is Old School, classy, & unique."
