"With the restaurant pretty deserted @ 5:45, we were seated at a dark and narrow two person booth. My partner had a "water station" above his head, which was uncomfortable due to frequent usage; someone regularly behind and above your head. Ugh! The food was mediocre. Grilled salmon was overly dry and the mashed potatoes and spinach came in a skillet(??!!) ODD. Service was fine. Pleasant waitress. Clearly, on a Friday night, the restaurant had many reservations for later in the evening. However, we felt we were given rushed seating/service. The restaurant is one of three or four in Westwood that is good for a pre-theatre dinner. I would not return unless it is my only option (though the others aren't very good either.)"

"I set up a birthday luncheon for six friends and one of them has hearing issues. There was a large group of fraternities there for Mothers Day, but we were very nicely accommodated in the small room to the front of the restaurant, where little sound carried and we were able to have normal conversations at a perfect sized table. Thank you for arranging individual checks for the group, as well."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my recent dinner at the Napa Valley Grille. I went with a date and we found the restaurant to be the perfect spot for our pre-theater meal before attending a performance at the Geffen Playhouse. I ordered the Natural Grilled Pork Chop mustard greens, cherry and sweet onion compote, bourbon apple jus with an appetizer of the soup of the day. My date had the Kale Chopped Salad quinoa, toasted almonds, parmesan, plump raisins, lemon-parmesan vinaigrette. She could not have the soup due to the cream ingredient, but our waiter happily discovered their was some gazpacho, and that made a good substitute. The wine choices were good, and I will say the ambiance was great and the noise level was moderate."

"Looking for a walk-to restaurant in Westwood is not difficult. There are many and they range from simple to fairly elegant. Napa Valley Grille trends toward the more elegant end of the spectrum without being pretentious at all. The short rib entree was rich and well- seasoned. The seared tuna was perfect. Ample wine choices by the glass. Only the lemon tart dessert disappointed. It's closer to cheesecake than tart and not very lemony at all. Our pleasant waiter agreed. Too bad he didn't offer that opinion first, but we didn't ask."

"We chose this restaurant for a business lunch and it was perfect. The food and service was excellent, and the menu had a good variety to choose from. The dining room had a spacious feel; the noise levels were at a minimum making it easy to discuss our projects. I will return again and look forward to have dinner the next time."

"I enjoy Napa Valley Grille very much. I had a friend in from out of town and we met there for lunch. The service is impeccable as is the food. It was a little noisy, but not too bad. The location is great except parking is difficult. They do, thankfully, have valet for $4.00 however. I would recommend it!"

"NVG is turning into a favorite, especially for brunch. The complimentary coffee cake is a nice touch, and the small plates format for the brunch selections makes it possible to try many tastes. We really like the Napa potato hash, not really hash, but delicious, and the piece de resistance is the butterscotch bread pudding with housemade marshmallow topping. This visit, the soup was a fantastic gazpacho, and other soups have also been very good."

"I took a few business colleagues from out of town here for a nice dinner . I wanted them to experience CA cuisine, wine and the farm to table concept perfected at Napa Valley Grille. Chef Taylor B's kale salad is simply amazing. Who knew kale could taste this good? We enjoyed mushroom aglonotti, lamb ragout, crab cakes and more - all so fresh (pasta made on site) and full of flavor. We topped the meal by sharing a butterscotch bread pudding. Now, I am not usually a bread pudding fan as many times the dessert can be dry... This was by far the best bread pudding I have had! It was smooth and creamy and delicious butterscotch, topped with a perfectly browned homemade marshmallow. Great meal, but had to hunt down server for check at the end."

"Service is impeccable! Chef Taylor will talk to you and ask you what you think of the food, but he really wants to know the truth. However, the food is delicious, so you will only be able to complement the dishes. The hand made mushroom agnolotti just simply pops in your mouth. It's silky and tasty, and probably the best pasta I have ever had. The Branzino is so buttery, and yet the skin remains crispy throughout dinner. We had a side of artichokes cooked perfectly, and a bread pudding dessert that's to die for. Make a reservation before going because they are always busy."

We came for brunch. My salad was good, but definitely overpriced at $16.
My mother-in-law ordered pancakes and an omelete. The pancakes were undercooked and the eggs were overly salty. Thankfully, the restaurant was accomodating in taking back her food and gave her a salad instead without much hassle."
