Churrascaria Plataforma
Churrascaria Plataforma is a Rodizio style restaurant. Rodizio is a method of serving meat that originated in the south of Brazil in the early 1800's. The concept is to serve a wide variety of different cuts of beef - sirloin, baby beef, top round, skirt steak, short ribs, brisket, rib eye; pork - ham, pork ribs, sausage, pork loin, suckling pig; chicken - chicken legs, chicken hearts; turkey - wrapped in bacon; lamb, fish, etc. in succession, to each diner individually right at their table. A meal typically begins with a trip to the gourmet salad bar, which features a variety of vegetables and composed salads in addition to four hot dishes. We also serve a selection of side dishes at your table. The main course, the highlight of the meal, will start when you flip your coaster-sized "chip" from the red side to the green side, signaling the meat cutters you're ready to be served. Winner of Three Consecutive NYC Health Dept "Golden Apple Award".

"We've brought large groups (10-30) to Plataforma on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. Salad bar is excellent, meat is top notch and the place has a very friendly ambience. How can you go wrong with unlimited picanha? A very fun place to have a good meal, if you like meat."

"Went for lunch. The Maitre'D (Dino) had an initial rude interaction with us, throwing us the pen to write on a paper required to choose the side orders, never apologizing for it, just to start our lunch experience... Nobody asked for our side orders preference after we started the meat. I had to ask for somebody to pick up the paper. The restaurant was not crowded, there was no rush but food service ran very low. I had to ask for the variety of cuts and they never presented all of them. I asked for pork ribs and they brought it very late, close to when I was ready to finish. I asked for additional polenta service and it was never brought to the table. We requested to talk with the Manager and he did apologize for the situation..."

"My husband has been to similar type restaurants in Fort Worth, Texas and Charlotte, NC. He was happy to find a Brazilian Steakhouse in NYC. We were both extremely pleased with the the service, and quality of the meal. Everybody was highly attentive. The manager personally checked in with us at least five different times. Everything from salad bar, steak selections and desserts were delicious. The native Brazilian drink they promoted was very good and the band playing in the front center of the restaurant was just enough. A unique experience I would highly recommend ..... and go HUNGRY!!!"

"A great overall experience. The servers were very nice and helpful. I was personally looking for a specific dessert wine and although they did not have this exact one, my server brought me 2 different ones to choose from, and both were exactly the taste I was looking for. "Excellent food in amounts that will defy the physical properties of your stomach. Only drawback is that the prices are increasing to a point where it's now less expensive for a meal at Peter Luger. Bear that in mind as you enjoy their unlimited protein and salad bar."

"this was not our first visit to the churrrascaria platforma we go at least once a year the service is impeccable low key unobtrusive and very very professional nobody here is ever going to say "hey guys can i getcha somethin else" as they do in so many restaurants these days the salad bar is wonderful such an artistically displayed variety of foods the little rolls that are put on each table are made in heaven by angels and small enough that if you have two you don't feel like you've overeaten the meat selections are brought with great enthusiasm and with friendly service we loved it as usual & before i finish this little review let me say that the creme brûlée & the chocolate cake were both absolutely out of this world delicious"

"A great place for meat eaters. The various meats were all abundant and outstanding taste. The meat runners are very pleasant and helpful. The unlimited salad bar is teriffic, but I thought it was peculiar that there was no Hearts of Palm which is a major veggie in Brazil. This was my 5th time here and I will be back in the future."

"Food was good, but not phenomonal. We got there a little early on a Thursday before a show & we felt like the waiters were vultures! Someone was always standing over us, which was very annoying. Some people may call this attentive service but I felt that it was uncomfortable. Salad bar was just ok - nothing great. We found that the better meat came when we were finished eating & so stuffed. Overall, liked the concept of this type of dinner but would probably try somewhere else before I came back here."

"We booked this as a pre theatre dinner. It was great and the best we have found in the theatre district. What a show! Traditional Brazilian serving of a variety of different meats served table side by cheerful waiters. Spectacular salad bar. Food fit for a Kings banquet. We plan to come back even if we are not going to the theatre. This is a unique and special dinning experience!"

"My boyfriend and I went for Valentine's Day a few days late. I was nervous it wouldn't be romantic but the fun made up for what it lacked in out right romance. We had an amazing time. It was super fun and the food literally never stopped coming! Our server; Angel was great and managed his many team mates incredibly well. Our glasses were never empty and our plates were always full! It was overall a great experience and we will be back!"

"We ate a late lunch, early dinner before a 6:30 Sunday show. The staff was extremely friendly (particularly the maitre d' who treated the kids as honored guests). The food was good and perfectly cooked. I am an aficionado of rodizio and churrascarias having gone to many across the US and Canada, both chains and locally owned. Some churrascarias over salt their meats but not Plataforma. All were very tasty and well seasoned. Also, the pace of the rodizio was well balanced. Others sometimes either overwhelm you or leave you with vast periods of waiting. We had a nice meal and never felt rushed.
The only downside to the lunch menu is the limited variety of meats. Their dinner menu is more expansive. We will definitely return."

"What can I say... This place never disappoints! The food is off the charts...the service is five star. The salad bar is jam packed with gourmet selections that range from octopus risotto to sushi. If you have never tried a Brazilian BBQ... This is the place to try. You won't be disappointed... Promise!"

"The service was excellent (hostesses were a bit frazzled, but waiters and manager MORE than compensated for their inefficiencies). Out food was delicious from beginning to end and staff were friendly and extremely attentive. I didn't have any complaints except that I wished I had more room to eat more meat! Love plataforma and will definitely be going back!"

"I came there hungry, and left barely able to stand up. Food was very good and way too much. The funny thing is they warn you not to eat too much at the salad bar, because the main course was coming."

"It's a real meat fest, so you better like grilled meat before you go. That said, the quality of the food is terrific, each meat has a different taste, which is not the case in some other restaurants like this one. It is expensive, but for a special occasion it is worth it. Just bring a good appetite and don't fill up too much on the extensive and excellent salad bar."
