Bar Boulud
Bar Boulud is Chef Daniel Boulud’s casual wine bar and bistro located across from Manhattan’s Lincoln Center. A sumptuous array of house made charcuterie complements classic bistro cooking at both lunch and dinner. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner seven days and offers pre- and after-theater dining as well as a four-course weekend brunch for $32.00. Outdoor dining is available on the Broadway sidewalk terrace seasonally.
We offer a 3-course prix-fixe at lunch for $29.00 and a $45.00 price fixe menu for dinner, as well as a la carte options. Three private wine themed dining rooms adjacent to the walk-through wine cellar are available for private events.

"while previous experiences were fine..this night for 2 after theatre was awful. a bunch of young males suits (relatives of owners?) out front w/ no idea how to run a restaurant. food was mediocre( escargots a classic? out of shellsw/ cheesepuffs alongside/ and the main course took so long to be served we were ready to leave. there are better restaurant choices to be had in the neighborhood-skip this"

"We chose this restaurant to have lunch before a matinee performance because of it's good reputation and convenient location . Our server was polite but distant and didn't make much effort to describe dishes more clearly. We made the mistake of ordering a la carte instead of the prix fixe menu. The couple who was seated after us got their complete prix fixe meal quickly. We got our soups, the potato and chilled pea, fairly quickly and they were delicious. Despite a 12:30 reservation, the salads had not arrived by1:20. When we voiced our concern, the staff did respond quickly and apologetically, but we had no time for dessert/coffee. The shrimp salad was uninteresting- just some cooked shrimp on a bed of lettuce with a nice dressing."

"I had lunch alone and they did not flinch. Great, unobtrusive service. Had the fixed price lunch and thought it was worthy of all the praise his establishments get. Took a tip from the NY Times and had the pate. Best ever. Can't really describe how it was rich, but not heavy. I don't usually go to the same places twice when there are so many i havent been to....but will have to repeat this one!"

"I brought my mom here for a special mother daughter brunch for just the two us. The food was amazing, the dessert (ice cream and sorbet combo) was out of the world and the service was attentive without being intrusive. I have been here for dinner but the brunch was a real treat. I had the Croque Madame and my mom had the omelette. I would pop back here in a moment. For what we got for food and service I felt the prices were fair."

"We chose Bar Boulud as our final dining experience in New York and it was a great way to finish out 2 weeks in the city. Looking across Broadway to the Metropolitan Opera House was lovely.
Our waiter was excellent and able to provide a great recommendation that paired with our food from the 'Discoveries' wine list.
The food was excellent. The chicken liver salad with poached egg for appetizer was delicious. The chicken and duck mains were cooked superbly and the desserts were a highlight.
Overall, an excellent dining experience to finish out time in New York."

Wines and liquor are overpriced.
Unlike maitres d's and waitresses in many supposedly lesser restaurants, not once were we asked "is everything ok". We doubt that anyone really cared!"

"Stone pebble wall panels captured in wire baskets and a long barrel vault provide a contemporary setting with an ancient feel. Lots of great choices on menu, but all three of my party had a Prix Fixe dinner. We each had a different entree but all three had Pate Grandmere for a starter, which was excellent. Excellent meal, in a great atmosphere and very convenient to Lincoln Center. We will go back again and work our way through this menu."

"Ack. Went for lunch at Bar Boulard with 3 others.I recommended it based on my delicious experience with DB Moderne, and knew it was close by Lincon Center. I was embarrassed by the end of the meal, because it was really just below par of anything special. One had the $29 lunch PreFixe lunch, of a decent pate appetizer, followed by small piece of blah fish, followed by a miniscule dessert of store bought cherries over a tiny scoop of ice cream. Don't misunderstand here, these women are all small eaters, perpetually on diets and believe in portion control. I had unimpressive salmon club missing its avocado. The lower end white wine was $50 a bottle. Cost of lunch $70 pp. Last month we had an amazing lunch with wine at Le Cirque for $60 pp."

"I found this experience disappointing. The foie gras was really pate with bits of foie gras similar to what you get on an airplane. The duck was very good. Dessert menu was almost all ice cream or sorbet. The petit fours were boring."

"Loved the menu revamp and didn't know what to try first. We opted for the duck for two since it was only offered this day.

"Everytime I go I give it another chance and this time I was let down once again eggs florentine one of the order people in the restaurant it wasn't even hot? I put my hands directly on the fast iron skillet it arrive in and showed the waited its not even hot let alone warm? The bread isimpossible to cut with a knife it's bizarre they actually brougjt me a new order slightly hotter but the brew is still nt toasted and te crust is so hard and chewy you can't cut it? I was a chef at the original le cirque, the rainbow room and le cote basque so I'm am no novice but it just feels like eggs florentine should t be that problematic and ps my mothers meal was like warm a well...."

"Bar Boulud is a not to miss spot if you're headed to the Upper West Side, especially Lincoln Center. Make sure to start with the Charcuterie platter, ask your server for great paring, but maybe a nice Spanish red.
Nothing disappointed, including the creative desserts. Favorites: Raspberry Island (will burst in your mouth), and Elixir, if you prefer a creamy sensation.
