"Resturant was nice but very busy. Its understood because it was Mother's day. We sat near an smelly food service station. I put my back to it so I couldnt really see what was going on. It was a nice place. We travled 55 min. to get there. Would I do it again, not really.Overall, it was an OK experience.Mother's day brunch was OK. Nothing outstanding. Just OK."

"Rosebud's too crowded and noisy to take a date, but definitely take friends or family parties. The noise isn't deafening, since there's no music playing, just a lot of diners in a high-ceiling, circular room. It's as loud as any busy, mid-level restaurant. We were five. To paraphrase F Scott Fitzgerald, bigger parties are more intimate and private. You won't hear the conversation next to you. Somehow, Rosebud's layout allows for pockets of intimacy. No one hears yours either. Rosebud's appointed with chandeliers, warm, stone-evoking walls, and white paper tablecloths rather than red-checked, better than most Italian joints in the suburbs. Perfect service and huge portions, but way, way overpriced for noodles! Dishes start at $20."

"I first ate at Rosebud over 20 years ago, at their restaurant in Little Italy, in Chicago, W. Taylor Street. I was very impressed by what I had back then. So, 20 years later, I finally got around to returning. I am a garlic freak. There was, and maybe still is, a restaurant, in the North Beach section of San Francisco, that touts their intense garlic flavor. And Rosebud is similar. Both the appetizer and my main dish were robust with garlic.
I don't often find Chicken Vesuvio, but it was on the menu, and I ordered it. It was phenomenal.
My fiance had the Ravioli with meat sauce and meat balls, and her's was also exceptional.
We shared a dessert which was also delicious, and most adequate.
We both brought home leftovers."

"We were able to get a reservation through Open Table at Rosebud in Schaumburg on Mother's Day. We did have to wait a little while for the table still, but we were able to enjoy a drink at the bar. The food was outstanding and the service was great, even on this busy day. Thank you for a wonderful Mother's Day dinner! Can't wait to return again."

"I've eaten here a few times and my one complaint is that it is often noisy. This time they kept me waiting about one-half an hour for my table but gave me one in a quiet side room which was great. The food always has ample portions and is tasty."

"The food at Rosebud is consistently good. The dishes are nothing modern, but good old classics like chicken marsala and veal saltimboca. If you are very old-world Italian, they have a neckbones special! The only downside is that the menu is a little pricey for what you get."

"We went the day prior to Mothers Day and had a reservation. We were seated an hour and fifteen minutes PAST our reservation. I think people like to hang around longer for family meals. The manager was gracious and comped the appetizers. Other than that, food was great, servers were a bit overwhelmed due to crowd, priced right for amount of generous portions."

"My wife and I were married at Rosebud Old World Italian 5 years ago on May 10th. We enjoyed ourselves and the food so much; we decided we would go there every year for our anniversary.
The service, form the bus boy thru management is exceptional. This establishment and it employees truly know how to treat a customer like they would a guest in their own home.
The quality of the food is top-notch along with their wine selection. The food is always consistent, served at the proper temperature, and delicious.
Recommendation: If you cannot decide between steak, and pasta, you should consider the “Grandmas Gravy”. This dish combine’s fall apart tender pot roast, with pin wheel pasta,andjust enough gravy to not be over powering."

"The restaurant was great. However the wait was too long. We had a 7:30 reservation - reached 7:20 and we had to wait till 8:35. I would recommend that they do not take reservations if they cannot fulfill it at that point of time.

"The noise level was so loud that the 8 of us could not have a conversation. Tables were also too close together marking it almost impossible to get in and out. It was the night before Mothers Day but we have been there before and it was just as loud. Lunch is a better option Do not think I can get my family to return there again"

"We had dinner here Friday w/another couple. The tables are tiny; we had our candle removed. Altho we all had side plates, the server poured oil and parmesan cheese in a plate in the middle of the table and my husband couldn't reach over everything to dip his bread. The lighting shd have been darker. It was noisy but not as bad as others have said. The food was just ok. I had the vodka linguini and was glad I ordered a side of meatballs bc all i got was a big bowl of linguini with sauce poured over it.. The pasta fagioli tasted like it came from a can and was lukewarm. The meatballs were excellent. The featured martini with citron vodka was awful. My absolut/tonic was watered down. Meh. Not worth the $300 we spent. But our server was great!"

"We had a reservation but still had to wait 55 minutes, then were seated right in front of kitchen. Manager apologized and offered to buy our appetizer/dessert. Servers were good. Food was prepared with very heavy sauces, with no lighter options. As it is "old world Italian," this would be expected, but I do think they should have one or two lighter dishes. The chopped salad "with jumbo shrimp" contained only two shrimp, and they were watery and fishy tasting. Despite manager's considerate apology, desserts were on bill."

"The Brushetta was below average in my opinion: The bread was hard, and crumbled to pieces when cut.. The tomatoe did not have any onion lighty chopped and mixed in.. My experience is that the gread is lightly toasted and should not discintrigate when bitten, or cut into.
The Caprese Salad presenatation was odd.. Served on a bed of mixed greens I had never seen before. That aside the Balsamic Vinegarette (aged I am sure, but lacking flavor) Perhaps even too old beyond the expiration date?? But certainly did not enhance the taste...
The noise level was ( the answer became/translated "energetic" on the above survey.) It noise was absolutely loud, and off the charts. We were a table of four and it was extremely difficult to track."

"The food was amazing but the prices could of been lower. The waitress could of been more attentive. Took forever to get water and bread. "Had an 8 PM reservation but wasn't seated until 8:30PM. Waiter offered us a free appetizer which was nice. Enjoyed the Baked clams, especially the sauce that came with it. We each had a steak (one was Vesuvio and the other Italiano). I would recommend both. For dessert I had cannoli's which were good but my partner had tiramisu which she REALLY enjoyed. Martini's were a bit pricy for quantity given. All in all, we would return again."

"Although the food was quite delicious and the service was very good, I would not recommend Rosebud at this location unless you like an extremely loud atmosphere. It was difficult to have a conversation with my husband because there was so much surrounding noise from the other patrons. I likely will not return to this restaurant in the future, but seek out another with a quiter atmosphere."

"We apparently went on an unusually busy night. We had to wait 20-30 minutes, even though we had a reservation. They did give us a free appetizer (without asking or complaining). Food was great Our guests commented that it was the best italian food they had had. Service was also very good. My only negative was the noise level. "We are a big fans of the original Rosebud on Taylor Street, and had tried the Rosebud in Naperville (before their fire) and wasn't as happy with it as the Taylor Street location. The Rosebud Old World Italian was great. Beautiful dining room, and very crowded on a Saturday night. The food was excellent, and the portions as large as we remember from the past. The four of us had a wonderful evening. My only complaint......the noise level. Very, very loud. It really goes beyond "lively". Must be the gorgeous high ceilings."

"This is the second time for my husband and I to come to Rosebud. The first time we came was our very second date (5 years ago) and we never came back until now because the service was so bad. This time, we decided to give it another chance. Lo and behold, the service has not improved. The bus boys were more talkative and attentive to our needs than our waiter was. All in all, our waiter was just always a few steps behind on everything. A bus boy brought me a drink refill followed by another refill by my waiter, so I had 2. The bus boy also took our food into the kitchen to get it wrapped up and must have forgotten about it until he saw us fidgeting in our chairs and ran to the kitchen to get it. Finally, we were able to leave."

"Great night out. Staff including hostess and wait staff really pleasant. Someone in our party order the special 'Baked Chicken Siciliano' I think it was called. It was fabulous and was enjopyed by almost the entire restaurant including other patrons. We laughed, took pictures and then enjoyed some of it, but mostly taking it home. It was huge but made for great conversation with everyone. Nice presentation of all entrees. We all enjoyed our meals that were ordered and will definitely be back. I personally went to work the following day telling all how good the food was and what a nice experience we had with other patrons as well as the employees (the hostess was a sweety) just sorry I didnt get her name to pass on to you."

"We always enjoy Rosebuds, food is consistent. It is VERY NOISY so be prepared. Most entrees can easily be shared between two, they are huge. Our server Victoria was great."

"A bit disappointed. Service was slow - at times we wondered where our waiter was. While my dining companion enjoyed the quality of their food, I made the mistake of ordering the featured seafood entree which was dry overlooked tuna steak that came with a few token stalks of broccoli. Priced at $27.95 it wasn't worth it. I considered sending it back to have it cooked properly but given the absence of our waiter I was afraid it would take all night. We have been to other Rosebud locations and have enjoyed them but Schaumburg needs to step up their game."

"My wife's lobster and crab risotto was like risotto soup and very salty. The salad atop my veal milanese was very salty as well. The staff seemed a bit green and uncoordinated. The seating plan was not laid out with proper paths to seat people, which resulted in the CONSTANT annoyance of staff and customers bumping our chairs throughout the meal as they seated and served. The overall experience was not worth the price we paid and with so many other options in the area we won't be back anytime soon. Probably why we could get in on a moments notice at 6pm on a Friday when we couldn't get a table at other restaurants."

"Had 2:15 reservation. We did not even know they had a brunch for Easter. It was not listed on their website. Some specials tat were listed on the website were also not available, and we were told we were looking atthe wrong website. ( we were not looking at the wrong website.)We could order the brunch if we wanted to, but at 2:15 they said they were not restocking it because it was being shut down at 3pm. We had to order from the menu, and the food looked like it was frozen, the stuck into a microwave to dethaw and heat it up. Waitress was eager but inexperienced or over loaded, as we had to wait for some time after we put in requests for things. Not worth the money spent."

"It was a little hectic in there and the food was a disappointment. I have been there several times before and the food was excellent. The layout for the brunch did not work well and everytime I went up for food they were out of several items. For the price there wasn't a large selection and this is the first time we left a brunch feeling hungry. The bloody Mary bar looked great though!"

"WAY TOO LOUD! I am young and love a good time but this was ridiculous. I could not hear the person sitting right next to me. The "singer" was annoying and the music was terrible. I guess if you are in a big group and want to sing, fine. The food was average but overpriced for the quality. The service was also just average. Took way too long to get food. I was also overcharged for a bowl of soup that was suppose to come with the special and didnt notice until I left. Will not be back."

"Great food, wait staff was helpful and always available. Place was way to loud on a Saturday night, and the meal took approximately an hour and a half before it was brought to our table. Food and waitress made the evening enjoyable, but the noise, and the length of wait was a bit much. Overall though, I will be back."

"From appearances upon entering the restaurant, Rosebud would seem to be a nice place for a romantic dinner. However, the raucous bar and costume-clad servers prancing through the dining room quickly dashed that idea. Undoubtedly there are those that enjoy this kind of scene, but I am not one of them. The food was not bad, but every single thing that I ate was nearly flavorless and individual elements could only be distinguished by texture. I had a similar experience in my last visit to this particular restaurant but thought it might have just been a bad night, so I went again. This will conclude my visits to this establishment."

"Food is typically good. I use them for business lunches and dinners. We also go there as a family. However for $40 a person plus additional for mimosas I expected more. Hardly any of the restaurants favorites were on the buffet and they couldn't keep up with the crowd.
If it wasn't a holiday I would have asked for my money back. Sorry Rosebud you blew it on the Easter brunch.

"I have dined at Rosebud many times and hosted a party there last fall in a private room and have always been a fan of this place. Based on my last experience there, I will not be recommending Rosebud to anyone. Our meals were really late coming out of the kitchen becuase I suspect the waiter got distracted and didn't put the order in promptly after he took it. We had to find a manager to assist and he did not exacatly exude "the customer is always right" attitude. Once the food did arrive, at least mine was disapponting and they brougnt my son the wrong entree. They did comp us with 3 desserts but I will think twice about dining there again."
