"Space inside was cramped and packed. I think the overall experience would have been much improved is we hadn't been seated 45 minutes after our reservation.
Our waitress was friendly and provided a complimentary plate of proscutto for our wait which was nice, but it was another 15 minutes after we sat to get water for the table.
The food was good, with subtle flavors. If you're used to the intense tastes around LA, this is not the place to go for food. I liked the Raviolo ordered but I felt it was lacking, almost watery.
This was supposed to be a nice night out for my boyfriend's 30th birthday, and overall I'd say we were not thrilled with the experience. I'm glad we tried it but I don't anticipate coming back."

"We're always pleased with the innovative selections on the menu. For starters, I really enjoyed the unique flavor of their Sicilian Highball cocktail. And the Fior di Latte mozzarella appetizer was outstanding with it's perfectly-sized portion of mozzarella and delightful relishes. My husband particularly liked the Little Gem Lettuce antipasti. And the wonderful bread they serve with high quality olive oil makes it easy to overdo it. However we were both surprised by the small portions of pastas we ordered - they've reduced the size since our last visit last year. And be forewarned that some dishes contain a lot of salt and butter! However, overall it was a very pleasant experience."

"This is one of my favorites. You can expec to spend 40 to 50 dollars per person I'd you do it right and order something from every course. Each dish out together with such care and exciting flavor. I try to get there once or twice per month for some pasta ( all have been spectacular) fish and today tried the quail. Simply delicious.
In all, a must if visiting or living on LA."

"I loved everything about my experience from the hostess at the door to the bartender, to the server and all the staff and of course the food! Everyone was super nice and it was a truly inviting experience. The Halibut was melt-in-your-mouth amazing! Would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice night out with delicious gourmet food at a reasonable price!"

"The wine and the Mozzarella dish were my favorite food items. The pasta tasting was superb, wonderfully executed dishes. My only confusion was the plating. I know that pasta isn't prone to immaculate plating - but perhaps the kind of plates used could have been more suited to small portions of pasta. I think, given the quality of the meal - the presentation should have matched the food and service.
The service was incredible. Our server was prompt, very easy to talk to, had a great sense of humor, and was very knowledgeable. With every wine he poured, he went in to the history, where it was from, why it would taste the way it would taste and why it would pair well with our dish. Fantastic."

"The food here was more than delightful, it was a vessel taking you to a whole new solar system of tastes. With each bite you could feel as if though you had a baby in your stomach kicking from the power each bite of food possessed. This is the type of food you would want enemies to sit down and eat while discussing potential plans of peace. If more in this nation ate more of these such fine and titillating foods I do believe the 10% of Americans who have Depression would drop down to a low 3%. So eat here if you love happiness, taste and mouthfuls of revolution."

"First time here and it was everything I heard it was. Outstanding food and service. Reminded me very much of Italy, courses were small but tantalizing. We got lucky and went on a Thursday night....each week they have fresh Barrata flown in from Italy for there Barrata bar...I can't begin to tell you how amazing it was...served with their homemade garlic bread....shear heaven!"

"Unfortunately on Tuesday night my wife and I (celebrating 10 yr anniversary) had to wait well beyond our reservation. We understand this can happen, and we are happy that our favourite restaurant continues to flourish. But....
#1)our wait was 42 minutes beyond our reservation. And we arrived 15 minutes prior to our reservation. We've never had a longer wait at ANY restaurant.
#2)in front of us the manager apologized to other guests who were waiting, and offered them complimentary champagne, but our wait was barely acknowledged except by the hostess who after 25 minutes offered said "your table should be coming up shortly."
I'm treating my staff of 5 to dinner there next Fridat night. Hoping we don't experience the same kind of treatment."

"I've been to Osteria Mozza four times now, and I always love the food - everything I've had is outstanding, from the salads to the mozzarella bar to the pastas. However, I find the ambiance and service to be stuffy so I never feel quite comfortable and for that the dinner experience suffers a bit. I'll have to try sitting at the mozzarella bar next time to see if it's more relaxed and enjoyable."

"I celebrated a special occasion dinner with a friend mid-week and the service and food could not have been better. Still dreaming of the pillows of goat cheese ravioli pasta and the olive oil cake and gelato. The mozzarella tasting came with a buttery, salty garlic bread that was the perfect complement to the 3 cheeses. The service was well-paced and our server was nothing short of delightful and helpful in making recommendations. Highly recommended and will definitely return. Thanks for making our evening so memorable!"

"Bravo Cheg Silverton and Batali!. A wonderful neighborhood gem with a fabulous Mozzarella Bar, nice cocktails, great wine list, delicious pasta's and creative salads. Portions are very small. Pricey but very high quality with attention to detail."

"Osteria is all about food. Everything from apps to desserts was outstanding. Service was great, very attentive.
However, we had flowers with us and we could not have it on the table, no vase was provided even after multiple requests. In my opinion, it should not be a problem."

"Good service, good wine list. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par even though I really tried to like it. Salad was fine. Mozzarella/Barrata dish missed the mark, maybe just missing a few drip of aged balsamic vinegar. Then both entree dishes were way too salty. You may need to get ready some high blood pressure pills after dinner :)"

"With great sensitively we were given a quiet and lovely table. It was perfect except for being a tad too close to the serving buffet, so that one of our group kept getting bumped by the servers. I'm sure they would have moved the table a few inches if they had known.

"We had a great first time experience at Osteria Mozza. We started with delicious cocktails at the bar before being shown to our table. Our waitress was exceptionally helpful and provided great recommendations! We really enjoyed sampling and sharing a bit from each part of the menu. "For a restaurant ranked in the top 100 in the country, it was subpar. The sommelier was either horrible at her job, or just another waitress, as getting any description of the wine pairings was like pulling teeth. The food was excellent, but again not explained or served well given our party of four had the pasta tasting menu. The timing of the wine and food was completely off, with wine arriving 10-15 minutes before the courses. My birthday was barely recognized with a candle stuck on my desert plate as an afterthought. The requested meeting with the chef wasn't acknowledged or done. Very very loud in the front room. I would not go here again. I get more personality and attention to service from a chain restaurant. Sad"

"Though our service was impeccable, the reality here is that the food is entirely way too overpriced for the portions doled out. You can look at the menu, particularly the pasta, and find many of the exact same dishes at other restaurants around town where the prices and portion sizes are much more reasonable. I've been to some of the best in town, and this spot leaves you feeling hungry given the price you pay. If you want to drop a fortune for some noodles, then this is the place for you. But don't be fooled; there are other spots around town where you can find quality food and a solid price and leave feeling fulfilled and as if you got your money's worth."

"My parents had eaten here a couple years ago and LOVED it. I had eaten at the Pizzeria side a couple years ago and loved it so I was excited that my parents and I had a reason to go to the Osteria side. Everything was absolutely amazing. Definitely get something from the Mozzarella Bar and enjoy a dessert (no sharing needed! lol). I'm looking forward to another special occasion to be able to go back, as your wallet may only be able to handle this place once a year or every couple of years, lol."
