"Have been there twice - once for a family dinner, and the other time with a friend. Food was excellent, service was very personable, and definitely on my list as a place to go for a special occasion! And being in. the heart of Little Italy is the icing on the cake!"

"Greeted at the door by the owner, who is laughing and joking with everyone (and it seems he knows everyone who walks through the door) was the best part of the meal.
The menu is pretty standard Italian American, nothing too risky, everything as expected. The food and service were good.
If you are looking for pretty typical 'little Italy' Italian American, and you don't want surprises, you'll be happy here."

"We were greeted by the owner, I believe and he is a gem. Very welcoming and gracious and made us feel at home. The fog was good but I think we were expecting better quality. My friend ordered Veal Parmesan and the Veal was to done. Really the cook did not know how to cook this veal cutlet. My Lasagna was good but not delicious. But the atmosphere was ice."

"We had to tell the hostess, Paula, to seat us after she continued to take phone calls. A proper hostess would have at least acknowledged us and motioned a staff over to assist us. She said "CLEARLY you can see I'm on the phone!" It left just about the same bad taste in our mouths as our overcooked, expensive meals were. The shrimp was so overdone and tough that I thought it was going to sail across the room in an attempt to remove the tail. The tettrazini was bland, overcooked and only had "bits" of crab ... not "lump". We tried to our to overlook these because we were celebrating our anniversary. But we will NEVER go back there again.
Our server, Chris, was the best part of the experience! Valet parking costs us $20."

"Our friends felt that our waiter had an "attitude ". We felt that he had too many tables. We arrived at 7:30 and did not leave until after 9:30. The food was excellent but the service was slow and the waiter was in attentive. There were very few vegetable options, but this was not a good choice for someone who wants veggies , but that is clear from the menu."

"This was our second visit to Ciao Bella. We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant in the heart of Little Italy starving for a good lunch...and it didn't disappoint! The staff was very attentive to our needs and the food is scrumptious. All items are made in house and we both cleaned our plates. I suggest you try the mozzarella and tomato salad, the balsamic vinaigrette on this is truly a delight. We will be back!"

"I don't know why I kept missing this gem in the middle of Baltimore's Little Italy. Maybe it was the fact that it's surrounded by many of Little Italy's more iconic eateries (Sabatino's, Chiapparelli's, Da Mimmo's, Amicci's) that I've patronized over the years. Ciao Bella, with its superb service, excellent menu and sophisticated atmosphere, far surpassed what I have experienced with its neighbors. I can't wait to return. Bravo!!"

"This was our first time to Ciao Bella and we chose it because of the good reviews and because we wanted to try a new restaurant. Our waiter was great and the food was good, but didn't live up to expectations. The clams casino were tasty. But the shrimp scampi wasonly okay. It wasn't very flavorful (too much pasta water added?). And neither my nor my husband's dinner was very hot. I noticed right away that it was just warm and should have mentioned it to the server, but didn't. The temperature wouldn't have bothered me if the dish had more flavor. We'll try a different restaurant next time we go to Little Italy."

"Ciao Bella was quite a disappointment. The food was mediocre and the service was poor. Our waitress was monotone, kept forgetting which table ordered what, and had to be reminded over and over. For the price, you can find much more delicious and well-cooked meals down the street (it is Little Italy after all). I wouldn't recommend anyone to come to this place."

"We have been before and find the food to be very good. However when we arrived this last time we waited a few minutes to be seated. This was not bad because we were late for our reservation, I had called to notify we were caught in Orioles game traffic. After we were seated we waited at the table for 20 minutes. We had water poured but no one else came to the table. I saw the owner and asked him if we could get some service at which point he rudely chided his wait staff in front of the room for not approaching our table. The wait person had been looking at us but ignored all of our efforts to engage. We all found this most peculiar and began joking that we might have to order a Pizza delivery from another restaurant."

"My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner. The server was friendly and the food delicious. Lasagne for my hubby and Veal Francese for me. Canoli for dessert was maybe the best I've ever had...they add a touch of cinnamon. Would not necessarily recommend for romantic upscale dinner. Lots of tables fairly close, but for good food and fun in a great part of Baltimore, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat...in fact, we already have!"

"We liked the ambiance and the nice table we were promptly seated at. The appetizers and salads were very good overall. We all ordered pasta dishes, which were well prepared except for the the vodka pene bolognese, which had a strong alcohol flavor. The desserts and coffee were fine. This place is less hectic than others in the area. The service was top-notch."

"I have been to Ciao Bella a few times already, saw a Groupon deal and booked a romantic dinner for my boyfriend and I. We were warmly greeted, sat at the bar for a glass of wine, and were seated 5 minutes before our reservation. The olive oil mixture for dipping bread was delicious, as was the sweet/creamy house salad dressing. Gnocchi for him, Tortellini for me, and both meals were practically inhaled, with a few pauses for sipping wine and listening to the live piano player. His first time there; he loved the experience so much that we will be returning with his parents in a few weeks. Out of all the restaurants in Little Italy, this is the one I feel always consistently produces me a great meal and atmosphere. Great experience!"

"Very disappointed. Our favorite waitress, Vanessa is no longer there. She always steared us to the best food every time we dined there. Service slow, appetizer served was burnt (waiter served it anyway) and had it returned and done correctly. Minestrone not as good as the last time. Cowboy steak not thick and tasteless, fish was good, crabmeat looked and tasted like canned. Can't put bad crab past a Marylander! Will not return."

"We had a very good dinner. Tortolini alla Romana and Chicken Gabrielle. The house wine is inexpensive and good with a solid selection among several varietals. Owner Tony Gambino greeted guests at the door and invited them to a drink at the bar before seating."

"Ciao Bella is a nice restaurant in Little Italy. Street parking at 6PM on a Saturday was easy to find. The prices were reasonable (dinner and drinks for four was around $100). The food was okay, though, not as good as I would have expected. I would say the same about the service. The Host was a little abrasive, and the woman tending bar seemed to be having a bad night. Our waiter was a little difficult to understand, did not come to the table very often, and did not remember who ordered which dish. The food came out quickly and was fairly good, but far from great."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We were greated upon arrival, but even with reservations were told to wait at the bar. we did order a drink and the bartender was extremely friendly. The couple ahead of us did not have reservations, but were seated before us. The bread was fresh and the drinks came promptly. We ordered the soup of the day which was Tuscan crab. It was delicious. The temperature could have been a little hotter, but the flavor was suberb.I ordered a sald with the house dressing which was terrific. The veal special and the pasta with shrimp were both great. The waiter was proffessional and friendly, but not very attentive. He may have been new. We would definately return."

"We arrived in Baltimore much earlier than expected and called to see of we could get our reservation changed. They were able to change the reservation, we went earlier and had a wonderful, yummy meal! So many places in the area of Little Italy, but we recommend Ciao Bella!!"

"I am a regular here on virtually every trip to Baltimore (3 times a year). My favorite is the White Clam sauce with fettucine and this time is was only "good" not great. Service was less than congenial, but everyone has a bad night now and then. I'll be back in the future, for sure!"

"The restaurant is undergoing updating throughout and looks to become as inviting inside as the food is wonderful to eat! I was there on 3-13 and was one of "those" tables restaurants usually dislike. I was that table of 3 that turned into a table of 5 right as dinner is about to be served. Some wanted to order off the menu special dishes and others needed a cab called with their dinner order(seriously). The staff was quick and patient with accommodating everything perfectly even making more then one dish for one of us. Bottom line is the food is wonderful and you wont find better service from a waitstaff then this one."

"We enjoyed Ciao Bella immensely!! The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even the bartender made me a "special" drink! The food was delicious and service was not rushed at all!! They have valets on the weekends, so for $10 you do not have to concerned yourself with parking. We will definitely return!!"

"Great casual-upscale dining. It's always a great place to go for date night when you want a little more class but don't feel like putting on the full-scale ritz. Service is dedicated to providing an enjoyable experience and even under full-house conditions the only place you'll feel cramped and rushed is at the front door. The food is always excellent and the specials NEVER disappoint. The menu ranges from more sophisticated authentic "olive and mussel" entrees to the classic feel-good lasagna your ameritalian friend's grandmother might make.. and the prices will leave room for that extra glass of wine to break the ice with even the coldest of in-laws."
