"Pecorino: This newcomer from two former Toscano employees is one of the most exciting new restaurants of the year, serving one of the most refreshingly original and authentic Italian menus in the city. Bravo!"
"Angeleno Magazine"
"Choose any dish on Pecorino's menu and travel through Italy while dining! Raffaele will cook your spaghetti "Cacio e Pepe" or "Carbonara" just like the best restaurants in Rome would offer. The "Branzino stuffed with artichoke will make you feel you are in Capri again, the veal chop with Porcini will take you straight to Abruzzi. The strawberry almond cookies "Millefoglie" &the Pecorino cheeses cannot be missed. Ask Mario or Giorgio to suggest their favorite Italian wines and your dining experience can only be duplicated on your next visit to Pecorino (or Italy)."
"LOS ANGELES MAGAZINE"
"I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. Our waiter, Michael, was amazing and attentive to all our needs. He even took initiative to bring my boyfriend a dessert for his Birthday, which was absolutely a surprise to both my boyfriend and I. It was such a lovely experience and the food was tasty and unique. Pears au Gratis was incredible! Thank You!"

"Overall our experience at Pecorino 's was good. Lamb and steak were delicious, lobster pasta was real good Tad bit salty. Wine was great. Notification of birthday was ignored. Service made up for the downfalls."

"I truly felt like I was in Italy! Our lunch was overseen by the helpful and extremely knowledgable Dino, who took care of every request most graciously. It was wonderful to be in a restaurant where you could actually hear what the person across from you was saying...the noise level is remarkably low. There are only raves for the food!. Amazing bread! The chickpea and pasta soup was a work of culinary art as was the whole wheat pasta and vegetables that was my main course. The dessert - a "millefoglia" with strawberries was heavenly. Attention to details, a great wine list and an absolutely flawless dining experience makes Pecorino one of my new top 5 Best Restaurants in LA. - Doug Stewart"

"Everything was great. The special linguine with lobster and the sole on parchment paper were excellent. I've been going here for years and it seems to get better"

"While the food is wonderful, it is too noisy to be considered romantic. You should put in some carpeting or and use special material for the walls to soften the noise. Thanks"

"The printed menu seems a little ordinary and limited for an Italian restaurant, however the specials are really what you want. They are likely to include dishes you've never had before, not weird ingredients (not the lips and ear lobes of various animals favored by today's trendy chefs) but interesting combinations of familiar foods. I had white lasagna with chicken pieces in it sitting in chicken broth - never seen that before, but delicious. Wine list is small but high quality. This is not a cheap trattoria, (though you could have a $15 pasta and a glass of wine) but a high quality take on home-cooked Italian fare, come el fatto la madre, but a very talented madre."

"Always terrific. We had an early dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm totally hooked on the cacio pepe (not sure I've spelled that right!) - a simple spaghetti with lots of pepper. Service is attentive and professional."

"I have eaten at Pecorino many times before. It is a good neighborhood restaurant. I liked the flavor of the fava bean soup. But I thought it had too many dandelion greens in it. The goat cheese salad my friend ordered was good too. My pappardelle pasta had pepper in it, which I cannot eat. And when I told them I could not eat pepper, they swore it had no pepper. This kind of annoyed me because pepper is a taste you cannot mistake. They replaced it with a pasta bolognese, which was just OK. My friend had the lamb casserole with artichokes. This was the best dish for me, because it was a combination of foods that I had never had before. The cheese was particularly tasty in the dish."

"For a Valentines date: busy and packed, but with an attentive staff. The right amount of noise to hear your date, but not be overly distracted by your (close) neighbor's conversation. Relaxing lighting. Appropriate -- not gluttonous -- portions of great tasting and aesthetically appealing food."

"Had reservations, had to wait 20 minutes crammed into a small space by the front door on a chilly night. Appetizers were cold. Waiter never checked back to see how the meal was once served. Told waiter that it was my wife's birthday. He just shrugged and grunted and never made an effort to recognize the occasion. Food overall was good. Place is small so more interested in turning tables than satisfying customers. Many excellent Italian Restaurants in Brentwood. Go elsewhere."

"Attentive service with a well rounded menu of Italian classics. The cacio e pepe was the best I've ever had outside of Rome. This is a sparkling gem in Brentwood without attitude or pretention, just a haven for those who enjoy a casual ambiance in the midst of the usual LA buzz. For those seeking classic well prepared and authentic Italian cuisine, this is the place'"

"The place was quite crowded, especially for a Thursday night, and that made the noise level unusually high. For the first time, my guests & I had to shout to be heard. Also, we had to wait an inordinately long time before anyone came to our table to even take a drink order. My guests felt that we had been neglected for far too long, even given the crowded situation. SOMEONE in charge should have noticed us and taken care of us much more promptly. An apology should have been offered, but none was given. As always, the food was excellent, but given our neglect, I'm not sure I could persuade my friends to return. I love this place so I'm hoping that this was a one time aberration."

"Charming, authentic Italian gem. All staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Every dish we tried was wonderful. Salads were very fresh and dressed lightly with a yummy lemon vinaigrette. The cacio de pepe was absolutely delicious and took me right back to Tuscany. An amazing sole dish was a special that night - layered with zucchini and tomatoes and topped with thinly sliced potatoes which were crispy when baked. Servings were generous. We split the pasta and fish dishes and were more than satisfied. I also appreciated that the orders were split in the kitchen and served separately. For dessert we had a lovely chocolate mint mousse. When the restaurant is full, the noise level is a bit high. Look forward to returning!"
