"My fiance and I brought our mothers and fathers here for a Mother's Day early dinner. We did not take part in the brunch, but ordered regular dinner. While extremely delicious and well prepared, the menu is pricey. This is a great site for special occasions especially with a large group, but come prepared for the check ;-) I had the Filet Oscar which was prepared perfectly; two members of my party had the special, grilled scallops, which they raved about. One member had sole which she enjoyed but did not finish, it was a very large portion; the lobster mac and cheese was the highlight."

"We did the mother's day brunch. The service team was amazing. We ordered the lobster eggs benedict. They took forever to come out. When they finally came it was two white globs on an enormous plate. I have seen better presentations at a diner. The eggs were like rubber. The hollandaise was bland without a hint of lemon. The English muffin was cold. The side of potatoes had caramelized onions with the sweetness level of a dessert. The green beans were properly prepared but failed to make up for the rest. As it had taken over 45 minutes to get the main course and we had a 2 year old on the verge of meltdown, we decided not to send them back. Then they had run out of chocolate ice cream for the kid's menu and refused to offer a substitute."

"My friend & I decided to celebrate Mother's Day two days early & selected Capital Grille. It was wonderful.T he food was excellent, service superb & atmosphere perfect! The perfect place for a special occasion!
I ordered takeout (lobster bisque & cheesecake) for my elderly Mom, as it's too difficult for her to get out. The food was packed perfectly. She was so surprised to have 2 of her favorites & enjoyed every morsel!"

"Just overal great experience for our first time dining experience at Capital Grille. It was a special occasion and we were given glasses of champagne and desert on the house. We had great service as well. Checking back on us frequently but not an annoying amount. Also kind enough to take a picture of my fiancé and I and printing it out at the restaurant and placing on a "memories" card stock for keep sake. Great place all around."

"Capital Grille is always a sure thing when it comes to having a very nice meal. The lamb chops were good, a little over done for medium rare, but overall tasted good. The lobster mac and cheese was amazing with huge pieces of lobster throughout the dish. The coconut cream pie was a perfect ending to our dining experience and was not too heavy after a very filling meal. You know you're going to get a good meal when you go to Capital Grille!"

"Elegant, cozy interior, great for special occasions. The food was fantastic: the best lobster bisque I have had was here, it had big, tasty chunks of lobster. My family had steak: huge pieces with unique seasoning, delicious! I had salmon, which was also good. Even the side dishes were memorable: yummy mashed potato (how do they make it so good?) and the lobster mac and cheese. I loved it, and I am not even a lobster fan. I highly recommend this restaurant to celebrate special events - or any time if you can afford it!"

Despite the fact I had left hour and a half early she was rude and told meI could possibly sit at the bar. When we were finally able to get through ,
The kind vallet explained it was no problem as I notice many people were just arriving.
Clearly a shooting outside is beyond anyone's control , but if she knew this her rudeness as to why we were late is inexcusable !"

"Knock one off the bucket list: I've eaten a $50.00 steak the size of a raft. And it was tasty, perfectly cooked and nicely sauced. The recommended side of lobster mac'n cheese was smaller than the steak but at least twice as rich. I may expire from this meal but if I do, there will be a (slightly buttery) smile on my face. P.S. a shout-out to our server who, especially for Pittsburgh, was very professional."

"I was underwhelmed by the Capital Grille. From start to finish, there just wasn't anything that leapt out at me as being special or done particularly well. I really wanted to like the Grille, but when compared to similarly priced restaurants downtown, the Grille falls flat. The ambiance is dark, not just the lighting but the overall decor. The Grille comes across more institutional, stern portraits line the walls lending to the depressing atmosphere. We had to ask for drink menus. Our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful, she had a cheerful dispositon but it came across a little forced almost Stepford like. The food was cooked to order but had little flavor. The chocolate hazelnut cake was obviously mass produced. Better off elsewhere."

"I never thought I would say this about Capital Grille, as we have had nothing but wonderful dining experiences there, both from a food and service perspective. That said, they should stick with dinner, or take a course on Brunch101. Prix fix menu, including selections for a starter, entree, and dessert. Choices somewhat limited (approx. 6 starters), and upon ordering, were told that one of the starters no longer available. Half of our group wanted the Lobster and Crab Crepes as an entree (since it was different from some of the more standard fare), and they had run out of this entree. Half the table ordered a Spicy Filet Hash, a mixture of steak, potatoes, etc. The potatoes were cold, and clearly pre-cooked. Poor service. No TP in BR stall."

"The capital grill is excellent for business dinners. However, when one of our out of town guests asked if we could switch to the Mr Rodgers table, the host who was seating us was pretty rude and demeaning to him for asking. Not the professionalism I expect from the Capital Grill."

"I went to the Capital Grille for an anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. It was our first time there. They had confetti hearts on the table, gave us complimentary champagne, dessert, and a photo of the two of us together. We had wonderful food and a wonderful experience. We plan to celebrate here every year."

"Took a group of clients to the Captial Grille for dinner. Our server Gregory was outstanding. He was very attentive to the table, made excellent menu suggestions, and also made sure the little things were covered like making sure an appetizer that normally had 4 bites, had 5 for our table of 5. The food was very good, I was expecting quality steakhouse fare and happy with the quality of food at the Capital Grille. The Kona crusted sirloin was excellent, the next time I visit I will be ordering that item again."

"This was the second time I have been to capital grille. The first time was amazing. The second time was Valentines Day. The mac and cheese is amazing. My husband ordered the porterhouse medium and it came out burnt. The outside of the steak was completely cooked through. It was his first time there. I really wanted him to love this restaurant as much as I do. I would tell others to try this place. Maybe it was just too busy if a night."

"We were seated shortly after we arrived even though were there several minutes before our reserved time. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. Food was prepared as we expected. I like my steak medium rare and can seldom get it where it is warm and red in the middle--this one was. Server even took a picture of our group and put it in a "Happy Birthday" folder, creating a keepsake for our son to remember the evening with."

"while the service was exceptional and the filet divine, everything else left me cold. with all sides being ala carte, this is quite pricey. our house salads (at $10 each) was actually only a plate of lettuce, nothing else, just lettuce, really. the lobster mac and cheese is over hyped - only a few pieces of lobster on top of the dish, which comes out in an iron casserole and is way too hot to eat with your meal. will not be returning."

"This was our first visit and a memorable night since I proposed to my girlfriend there during dinner. It was a very pleasant setting, but I would have appreciated a little more space between tables and a table large enough to accept all of our plates. The service was exceptional!
