"My family goes to brunch every weekend but had never been to TRIO because we have a baby and a 5 year old...we were concerned about it being appropriate for them. We went for Father's Day brunch. Not only was it kid-friendly, but we were very comfortable in the atmosphere. It wasn't stuffy or "fine dining" feeling. The food was outstanding! There was a HUGE variety and even lots of gluten free options that were clearly labeled! Gluten free pancakes and muffins were available, as well as omelets, breakfast meats galore, prime rib, sushi, salads, charcuterie meats/cheeses, and a glorious dessert bar finished off with bottomless mimosas. We will most definitely be back!"

"Excellent service. celebrating early mothers day and requested outdoor dining for the view. I asked if they could have a bottle of wife's favorite malbec and some fresh flowers on our table waiting for when we got there. hostess didn't even flinch at my request, she said it would be no problem! 4 beautiful large orange roses and one red one were placed in a vase on the center of our table (at no extra cost). that night a storm rolled in , the hostess stepped it up and quickly found us a table inside with a view. Great dinner, awesome wine and a great waiter made the night complete. Thanks to the Trio Management Crew for setting high standards and expecting nothing less from your staff."

"I've been to TRIO multiple times, usually for lunch. Most recently, I treated my mom to an early Mother's Day lunch. We both ordered salads. She ordered the Crab Louie salad and I got the Cesar with added shrimp. I was a bit disappointed in my salad. It looked a bit sparse and forlorn on the plate, not at all generous and abundant, as I would expect from a $24 salad. I get it that TRIO is not a budget lunch spot but I feel like they really stick it to their guests. I've had a much tastier, filling salad for much less money at Zach's right down the street. Unless you are on a corporte expense account or living off a trust fund, there are better places in town to lunch. Also, I fiind it incredibly annoying that you have to valet park!"

"This was my first time to eat at Trio, or even to visit the Four Seasons Hotel, for that matter. I received an offer for a pre-show dinner package and we decided to try it out. The ambience was nice, the service was excellent, the selections for our dinner were of a good variety and all four of us enjoyed our meals. Wine choice was good, too. We agreed that having fewer selections made our decision-making quicker, and we were pleased with choices. There is a nice outdoor patio area which would be great for a future visit. Fortunately we were inside when the rain came in, but I did make a mental note for a future visit. All four of us agreed that we'd be back in the future."

"I had a business meeting at Trio at the Four Season over the weekend. It was the perfect place. The staff was attentive, the food delicious (great coffee), and the ambiance was quiet enough for us to talk and hear one another. I also liked being able to valet park with the hotel. "We love spending our special family events at the Four Seasons-Trio. However, this time we were sadly disappointed. We waited over 20 minutes for our table. Our server was slow and not very attentive. He forgot items we ordered to drink and wasn't there regularly to refill them. The buffet, which is usually spectacular, was just so-so. The buffet was a smaller size than at previous visits. Also, many items were empty for long periods of time before they were refreshed.
One of the best things about Trio is that they usually bring a beautiful birthday dessert plate with the words Happy Birthday on it. This was my son's special 16th birthday and it wasn't even acknowledged, even though I had informed them when I made the reservation-."

"Everything we ordered had a great deal of salt in it - almost to the point that it was not worth eating. We left a lot on the plate and even mentioned to the wait staff but they said or did nothing. No offer to order other items and at this point I did not want to upset the cooking staff by bringing other items. Always heard that is not good to do. The bill was $136 for dinner and wine and the food was no where near that good. Hard to justify the price for the meal we received."

"For the prices that are charged at Trio, the food was extremely disappointing. There was nothing outstanding or unique about the dishes. None of the courses were particularly memorable (except, perhaps, the bread - it was delicious). The service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I suppose you pay money for the experience more than the food.

It filled me up before a delicious dinner of steak, The soup was too rich and had pancetta which was hard and didn't go well in the soup at all The mashed potatoes were unlike any I have seen, very thin and runny, almost like soup and not much taste."

"We celebrated a milestone birthday for my husband with another couple at Trio and it was truly wonderful. Highlights of the evening - "Happy Birthday" written on the menu, classic fancy cocktails, cheesy popovers, the smoked cauliflower side dish, and the sommelier who helped each of us pick the perfect glass of wine for our dish. We ordered two desserts to share, and they also delivered a candlelit cupcake to my husband. We spent three hours at dinner and enjoyed every minute and every morsel. Our only disappointment was the cold, rainy weather didn't allow us to sit outside and enjoy the view... so we'll have to go back!"

"Good food, but order was completely forgotten by the kitchen. Table of four next to us who were sat down about 15 minutes after us received their entrees a good 20 minutes before ours came out. We were a party of two. We were then informed that our order got lost. By the time the food came out, my girlfriend wasn't even hungry anymore."

"I've been to Trio's several times, and it's one of my go to places when people come into town, and want to go somewhere special. All the food is supurb. The fish dishes are perfectly done, as are the steaks. Desserts are great, and portion size is perfect for multiple courses without getting stuffed. I'll continue to make this my downtown Austin go to spot."

"Waited probably 15 min after we arrived to be greeted by our server. Inquiring about the contents of one of their signature drinks, I was informed that the ingredients were described on the menu (gee thanks)! 30 minutes into the seating my margarita arrived - probably the worst I've tasted in Austin in a good while. Weird that we got a come-on to pair an Eric Clapton concert with a pre-show meal here, as they seemed completely unprepared to deliver an experience... and that's why we go to the Four Seasons. Too many other gustatory experiences in Austin to return to this venue any time soon, regardless of its enviable location on the lake."

"I have been to Trio twice over the last three weeks. The first time was for a private party - a ladies brunch the day before a wedding. The private room was lovely, the service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. The restaurant even prepared a gorgeous bouquet of roses with a lovely message written in chocolate. The second occasion was for my 13 year old son's birthday. He is a true foodie, and was delighted to be there. The staff treated him like a young adult, answered all of his questions about the food and how it was prepared, and made it a truly special experience. Both occasions were delightful, and demonstrated the professionalism and dedication of the entire Trio staff."

"Sitting outside by the river on a beautiful day was wonderful. The landscaping and decor are gorgeous, the service is exceptional, and wine list is terrific. The food is where it falls short unfortunately. While the dishes are creative and presented beautifully, there were several misses: my steak was overcooked (just a hint of pink but mostly brown for "medium"), the Brussels sprouts were very greasy, and the molten chocolate cake wasn't very "molten". However, none of it was bad per se, and compared to other options in town, it was a decent value."

"Service and food was great. This was our first time there and I was impressed with the reviews which is why I booked a reservation. The only thing I have as a slightly negative is the dress. I expected it to be nice ... and there were people there in cut off shirts and shorts.. swim suits and cover ups ... some younger adults looked liked they just came from an all day concert... I would have expected more of a dress code.... that's what takes away from it being a great romantic spot... it has everything else!!!"

"The food was great and I enjoyed the hibiscus tea. It was a beautiful day out and outdoor seating was available, but I was with a work group so we sat inside. "What a disaster. Made a reservation days ahead of time. When I arrived, the hostess tells me that my party of two, for a business lunch, will be seated at a "communal" table set for eight. I advise that this is unacceptable. She responds that "well, South by Southwest" is in town, so that's all we have. I reiterate that it's unacceptable, and that I made a reservation and expect them to have a table for me. She proceeds to scold me, telling me that i should have told them I wanted a table when I made my reservation ! Um, that's what a reservation is for. A table. For two people. Not chairs for two at a table for eight.
Ridiculous. Never, never, never going back to a place that thinks it's okay to throw you wherever they want."

"The food was good but not spectacular. It was considerably overpriced for the quality. We've had better, more inventive dishes for less cost in other Austin restaurants. We went on a Sunday night and there were only a couple other tables occupied. However, the service was still very slow. It was very professional - multiple waiters to make sure all four entrees were presented at the same time - but long waits in between. I doubt that we'll ever go back."

"Very poor layout for tables. No privacy and some really terrible tables that are set up against open service areas. If you want to sit on a bench and like the way that Red Robin is setup your in. If you want to be able to have a meaningful conversation and not share it with people on your left and right don't go. Limited menu and over priced for portions. Good service but they need to decide if they want a bar or a restaurant because there is not enough space allocated for both. Salads are well prepared and unique but main course was meant to feed a bird."
