"I have had dinner at Cap City Diner before, the couple we met there had not. It was fun to see their reaction to the place and the food. As usual the food was excellent, upscale versions of diner classics. The night we were there the Blue Plate Special was liver and onions. No one at our table got that but we enjoyed other entrees instead. Everything was excellent, well prepared and presented. We were seated at six and it was very busy and a bit noisy. Things quieted down some over the next hour along with the noise level. It was never overwhelming, but conversation was easier as the evening progressed."

"A group of us came in for a Goodbye Dinner on 5/21/13 & enjoyed ourselves so much. I haven't been to Cap City in about a year, so when the bartender recognized me as someone he had served before, I felt pretty special! I chose Cap City for our dinner specifically because of the Banana Bread Pudding, so we ordered it as an appetizer (best idea ever) :) The food here is delicious and comforting & the atmosphere is pretty laid back; a perfect setting for a goodbye dinner full of reminiscing and "nooo, you can't leave!"s. Our server, I think his name was Ryan, was just the perfect amount of attentive. I would have to say that the only downfall of the night was me forgetting my leftovers on the table, so, all-in-all, it was a great time!"

"Portion sizes are large. You'll never leave hungry. The Bayside Blue Cheese Chips appetizer is to die for! So addicting! Most of us ordered the signature meatloaf, which was fantastic. It was my birthday, & I received a LARGE free dessert of my choice. I chose the yummy carrot cake (which by the way was big enough for 3). Service was quick, and the 7 of us had an excellent waiter!"

"My Mother and I went for Mothers day and had a 4:15 reservation. It was a bit busy, but the staff seemed to be handling it very well. I'm normally good about getting the servers name, but I honestly cannot remember or find my receipt to get that information, but she was FANTASTIC. They have a better gluten free menu than most, and the server was watchful over what I was picking to be on the safe side once she knew I could not have gluten. Their blue cheese crumbles have gluten in them, who would have thought! I had a delish cheeseburger with the gluten free bun and wild rice salad....and my Mother had the porkchops and mashed potatoes, I had a sample of hers as well and it was very good."

"We had a confirmed reservation and were told we have to wait 20 after our reservation time to be seated. In fact, we were seated 45 min late. Food was hot or miss. Meatloaf good, chicken Milanase not good. I think they have a good reputation and they Are riding it. Not rely trying anymore."

"Upon arrival, ten minutes early, we were told the restaurant was running 10-15 min behin on reservations. The person in front of me had no reservation, and was informed they weren't quoting times or giving any assurances of how long the wait may be. So we were given a buzzer and told to wait. We went to the bar where we were served quickly and enjoyed an adult beverag, and an appetizer. When we were finally seated, we discovered the group without a reservation were seated prior to us, and had been so for some time. I'm not sure what the point of making a reservation is? If the restaurant isn't going to give preference to those who use this service, what's the point of using it?"

"Always tasty, classy and a little sassy, Cap City satisfies! Even my 6 year old granddaughter loves the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. She and I went in for a special dinner and were delighted with everything we ate. While seated in the back section (created by putting up plastic walls around the patio) the standard of excellence was still high."

"We decided to eat at the bar to watch some sports. The bartender was friendly. Drinks were good but expensive. $10 manhattans, but we tried a special bourbon not realizing the cost. Meatloaf sandwich good, as were chips with blue cheese. Grilled cheese sandwich with fried egg/scallions was surprisingly tiny and lukewarm. I would rate our food between fair and good based on our choices that night. But we had a nice time."

"This is the first time in a long time we were disappointed by Cap City. The food was as good as ever, but the service was severely lacking. Our server was absolutely terrible. I heard multiple tables around us talking about how slow he was moving and how he was not paying attention. But we still love Cap City overall and will be back. I just hope this isn't a sign that they are slipping on service."

"I wasn't sure I would like the place at first for a nice dinner for just me and the wife. Once I got there I changed my mind. The atmosphere was nice. Our waiter was super helpful in picking out two great meals for both of us. The food was amazing and plent if it. The carrot cake I ordered was awesome & a portion big enough for at least 3 people."

"Cap City Diner was recommended to us as a place to bring my son after his graduation from OSU. We had some reservations given the word "Diner" in the name, and some of the vintage diner chairs we saw on the website, but all of our concerns were set aside on arrival. The staff was wonderful from the moment we waslked through the door, and the food was delicious!! I would definitely recommend the Cap City Diner Granview as a "go to" spot for any occasion!!"

"We went to Cap City Diner to celebrate a birthday and a graduation. The food was outstanding - huge portions, excellent presentation, wonderful flavor. Our server was fun, funny, professional, and attentive. The prices were very reasonable. We had plenty of table space so we (6 in our group) didn't feel crowded. All in all, a very memorable meal and good times."

"You can always count on great service and food at Cap City. The lunch time turnaround was really good, even with our group of 8. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious, as usual. The only negative was that we were seated right under a loud music speaker on the patio which made conversation a little difficult."

"This was a lunch for a retirement party. Excellent service and we had the round table which was easy for us to chat. One issue, one of the romano crusted chicken for the salad was not cooked. Waiter did offer another piece, but we were on a time line. Love your food,my suggestion, but I thought you needed to know this down side. Thank you"

"I have eaten at Cap City many times.....love it!! But this time was very different. My meal was not good (NEVER had a bad meal before!!) and our service was terrible. Our waiter was not engaged and did not care about the service he provided."

"Amazingly this place has remained so consistent. The food was excellent for the 15 years we have been coming here. Cola beef short ribs were delicious. Recommend the strawberry basil lemonade. food came out fast like a Diner. They were kind enough to honor our reservation on a busy night even though we were 15 minutes late."

"Got there just before 1 pm and it was very noisy as most of the Cameron Mitchell restaurants seem to be. As expected, as the lunch time crowd left, things quieted down and we finished our lunch in peace. Food was great and service was great. I would go there again without hesitation."

"This is a hot spot in Columbus. I am from out of town but have been here twice in recent years and it is consistent. The meatloaf is so delicious and it really is comfort food. We had a table of seven and everyone enjoyed their meals which indicates the food is good. Look forward to my next visit."
