""M" is the only restaurant in Columbus that provides an experience worthy of the special occasion you're celebrating. A bold, but certainly true statement. Surely there are other excellent restaurants in the city. However, none have delightfully entertained my attention like "M". The food is pure and fascinating. My wife, for instance, will order the tamest of items (e.g. mac & cheese) simlpy for curiousity sake just to see the interpretation. Needless to say, she is always impressed. I should also add that pretentiousness, contraty to the uninformed, is not present at "M". One example...donuts and coffee icream. No pomp...just good taste. Perhaps that's the truest review. "M" has inspired dang good taste...sit back and enjoy."

"Disappointing. One menu choice a piece for steak, chicken, pork, but 5 choices of fish and multiple sushi choices. Not really a seafood place nor represented as one. Table for four was ridiculously small and wedged into a corner. Yet, we were bumped by servers and other patrons as they moved to their tables. This was not our first visit, previous experiences were better. For the premium pricing and what is advertised as a higher end experience, I obviously made the wrong choice for the money spent. There are a number of other great restaurants in Columbus at the same price point."

"The scallops were amazing...but the bed of rice that cushioned them was awful. Oily; buttery, sticky. Seafood is a light fare, it's texture soft and feathery. Combining it with heavy, fatty rice ruins the beauty of the meat, the play of texture against the palate. The rice in itself is a nice touch but it needs to be prepared without any cream-butter based ingredients or fatty meats. Further, I would recommend saffron in this dish.
Additionally, M needs to insist on formal attire: no jeans, no pullovers or zip-up jackets. Columbus is notorious for lack of style and possess zero panache; if we could have just one place in this entire city that can up the bar, it would be much appreciated.

"We visited Columbus and dined again at M Restaurant. As always, the service and ambiance were simply outstanding....very attentive and courteous. The food this time was not as great as the first time. Last June, I rated our meal as one of the best we have ever had and we live in the Nation's Capital where have dined at plenty of fine restaurants. The sauce on the chicken (entree) was delicious but the meat was not as tender as it should have been. My husband's salmon was a tad overcooked and the sauce (lentil, I believe) on my appetizer (pork belly) was quite oily,...this was delicious last June. The restaurant was packed when we got there and so that may be the reason for the off-night. Anyway, I would still go back to M."

"While Columbus is not a dining hot spot, M is a very pleasant restaurant with good to very good food. A couple of the appetizers were outstanding (foie gras and pork belly on lentils is a highlight). The main courses we had were well executed but not perfect. For instance, the salmon entree was perfectly cooked with a nice tomato pesto on top. However, the gnocchi accompanying the salmon were chewy and had clearly sat around for too long. The sauce had too much butter/cream in it--which was unnecessary as the flavors were excellent. If you need a nice spot in Columbus, I would highly recommend M."

"This was a special dinner for my mother-in-law from Australia who was heading home the next day after a month in the States. The maître d' and server took special care of my mother-in-law (gave her a free desert, my 11 year old son, my wife and I. This is the second time at M and it was even better than the first time. I highly recommend the restaurant."

"The ambience was very nice and the staff was very good and helpful. I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was quite salty which was a disappointment. Although I said I wouldn't recommend M, I may for a special occassion because of the atmosphere."

"Excellent service. Took my wife for our anniversary. The staff was tremendous . I wont go into the whole story but due to a miscommunication the staff let us walk out without the bill being paid (it was being covered by our friends). Our friends did get back and pay later but the fact that they didnt want to spoil our evening and could have potentially lost money but never said anything is a testament to customer service. The veal is out of this world. My wife has food allergies and they took care of it without a hitch. Wonderful place cant wait to get back."

"Anthony was incredibly attentive to us and made wonderful recommendations; it was nice to have a knowledgable server, especially after we had a long day with work. The cocktails were delicious - between the 3 of us we tried the Black Orchid, Vanilla Old Fashioned, and a Vodka Tonic (made with their homemade tonic water) - and each of them got rave reviews; I copied the Old Fashioned's ingredients so I can try to make it when I get home. We ordered the Pork Chop, Steak Bowl, and Lamb; each of them was cooked to our server's recommendations and each plate was cleaned. The Pork Chop was the biggest piece I have seen in my life and was so delicous. We will certainly return to this restaurant again!"

"The service was a little slow. We had a 6pm reservation (on time) and an 8 oclock show at the Southern. We ordered dessert but it was delayed and we had to leave without eating it. We left the restuarant at 7:50pm (the Valet was a little slow as well). Food was great!"

"As always, M was perfect. I continually state it is the best filet in the city. Hands down it beats all the steak houses. Always prepared perfectly and tastes amazing. The special fish dish was great. Linda is one of the best servers in the city. What a great meal for a special occasion. Remains the best restaurant in the city."

"The food was amazing! Probably the best meal I have ever had. The filet was tender, seasoned well, and perfect! The tempura shrimp appetizer and lobster mashed potatoes were delicious! I loved the extensive wine list and that you could order a half bottle of wine. The ambiance was awesome!
The only problem with the restaurant was how close the tables were to each other. I am not sure if I can talk my husband into going back for that reason."

"only complaint i have is that i didn.t like where we were seated. i felt like maybe we were seated there because my date wasn't dresssed as well as others (but it was a surprise)so maybe we were hidden? othr than that, it was a great experience. i love M. don't get to go there that often but when I do, it's a treat."
