"We went to Baca during 5280. Some food items (like the pork belly) were very good, and other items (especailly the chicken) were uninspired and not up to the standards I expected."

Review 3 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"The food was a big disappointment. I had fish (I think it was seabass). It was poached and not very flavorful. My husband and one friend had the ribs or rather a rib and neither was happy with their meal. Another friend had chicken and she did enjoy it. None of us felt that the food was worth the price. The service was marginal. It was difficult to get the server's attention. I would not go back."

Review 4 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"Went for Restaurant Week and was surprised they were offering select bottles of wine for $20, very nice. The food was average, the service was terrible. There were only a few tables and the head server was pushy, trying to get us to order quickly, the assisting server didn't know proper service techniques. Once the check was delivered it was as if we didn't exist to the head server, the restaurant manager had to run my credit card. With that kind of service and their regular prices, I can't see myself dining there again."

Review 6 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"It was VERY nice - the food was excellent and innovative without being wierd. The atmosphere was very pleasant, subdued lighting and comfortable chairs and a table for four that was large enough to spread out a bit, but not too big. But, the best thing about the ambiance was that we could actually have a conversation without shouting...Very good service with pleasant wait staff, too...And a really great cup of coffee!"

Review 7 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"We went during the 5280 restaurant week. All three courses were excellent. The Sea Bass was outstanding and the chocolate tasting was the icing on the cake. They also had a great $20 deal on a bottle of wine of your choice. The only complaint I had was that the service was slow. We were seated before the couple next to us and their order was taken before ours and they were served before us."

Review 8 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"Food was superb in both presentation and taste. The service was terrific. The one negative was being seated right up against another couple who was dinning at a table next to us; the restaurant was not full so we were at a lost for the reasoning behind this. Otherwise the night would have been perfect."

Review 10 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"We've dined at Baca on several occasions and always have a wonderful experience. Recently we had a group of 6 , and found the food, service and atmosphere to be excellant. However, I took huge exception to the automatic addition of gratuity to the bill. It's not like we were a large group of teens at a lower-end chain restaurant, who may not know how to properly tip. This is a fine restaurant, and we are mature adults. The whole point of a gratuity is for the patron to give extra compensation to somebody for their service. It is not a tip if it is not given voluntarily. To imply that we needed the gratuity forced on us was an insult. When this occurs, I will not leave my usual 20%. I'll be less inclined to dine here because of this."

Review 11 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"The food was not at all up to par for the price. My wife's meat was well cooked but overrun with sage completely masking the taste of the beef. The restaurant was extremely cold to the point that it was impossible to enjoy. The waiter was very friendly although very quiet and difficult to hear. All in all I will not return"

Review 13 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"Celebrated Christmas Eve here with family and had a wonderful time. We each had a different entree, and everyone was happy with their selections. When I made the reservation on Open Table, it was indicated that the restaurant would be offering their standard menu. When we arrived, we were told that they were offering a 4 course price fixe menu which entailed 3-4 choices per course. Not a problem- but I would have preferred to have more accurate information beforehand. The noise level was acceptable overall, but there were a few times when a crying infant had to be taken away- not the restaurant's fault, but I would not recommend bringing an infant to this establishment. This is a repeat."

Review 14 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"The only restaurant with exceptional food preparation, with the best of Spanish touches, best service, and where one is able to carry on a conversation with one's dinner companions. Plus, beautiful setting, uncrowded, and not outrageously priced. We will definitely be back to this, our new favorite restaurant. Tomato Basil soup alone was worth a return trip. Trout, flat iron steak, and pork chops were all winners."

Review 15 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"I thought the food was good, but the service seemed a bit slow, but again, not many people in the restaurant. The table we sat at was so bright you really did not have much of a romantic atmosphere. I probably would not go back as I thought it did not deserve the price it deemed we spent."

Review 16 for Baca at The Inverness Hotel

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"Our experience at Baca was exceptional! We had three children with us and were a little worried that the setting may not be appropriate. Nothing could be further from the truth - the staff was extremely accommodating, menus were customized for children and went beyond mac and cheese/chicken fingers. All was presented within the theme of the regular menu.

The meal was outstanding and our kids had a great opportunity to experience a more upscale environment in a comfortable setting. Baca is certainly a couples/adult dining experience, but it was refreshing to be received so well as a family.

Highly recommend it!!!
