"We were excited to go here due to the comments we had seen through Open Table. We loved the food!!!!! The King Crab Legs were the best I've ever had. My husband enjoyed the shrimp and salmon. Our waitress was professional and kind. We were impressed with the overall look of the restaurant. We definitely plan to go back!!!!!!!! Great place to get your eat on!!!!!"

"Went to the restaurant for Father's Day. Even though the restaurant was only half full service was somewhat slow. Then my food came out cold. The server apologized multiple times and quickly brought me a new meal, but I had to watch the rest of my party eat. The others in my party were satisfied with their meals. Overall an average experience. Probably won't return"

"The music was too loud for a pleasant conversation. Asked that it be turned down a bit and was not accomplished. Waiter was not aware of the Sunday special, but we were given it on the final bill. Could have spaced out guests a little better in an empty dining room for private conversations."

"This once pound restaurant from the Northwest has gone chain and bad. My dates beef was overcooked and the Spinach and lobster tail was served cold. The waitress did what she could but the cooks were bad...... This had become an over priced Red Lobster"

"we chose to dine here because she had been here previously. I had the scallops and she had the tuna. the restaurant is elegant, tasteful, reserved, intimate and special. the food was well prepared and thoughtful. Bruce, our server, was attentive and friendly. He was available when needed but left us to talk over a great dinner. we will be back."

"Food was good, but we felt it was a bit overpriced. We go out often for dinner, and we felt the higher prices were unwarranted. Definitely great if you like seafood, but the filet was only decent. If you get the chocolate bag, it's huge! Be aware, not for one - we could have shared it with at least another couple."

"Was there for my anniversary the hosts was very nice. But when we sat down it took 15 min before the server even came over. She never went through any of the specials, she never asked how our food or appetizers were. I had to flag her down to get new drinks, and she really didn't seem to care at all about us. But every other table that she served around us got great service it was the worst service I've ever had. I would never go back again."

"This place has dropped to the bottom of the steakhouse list. First, the waitress was not knowledgeable of menu and food ingredients. Yes, butter is dairy. This is not a place to go if anyone has food allergies. They are simply unprepared to handle this. Second, the food was mediocre and has fallen substantially behind the other steakhouses in the Chicago are. Third, the atmosphere was old and tired. For business, I dine at numerous steakhouses in Chicago and the suburbs and this place drops the bottom of the list.

"I would not recommend because they seemed to not want to accommodate the customer or make things right. My daughter took me their for Mother's Day and they over charged her credit card for a tip and when my daughter called there they gave her a hard time about changing the dollar amount. They changed it but not without giving a hassle. How can a waitress change a tip amount on a credit card slip? Well they did it!"

"I loved the beveled glass/mirrored walls and the tables are far enough apart where you don't feel like you're dining with the family next to you. They were out of the swordfish so the waiter suggested the Chilean sea bass, which was quite different but good. The mahi mahi is one of their 'signature seafood dishes" but it was very dry and I would not recommend it. The chocolate espresso cake is good and can be shared by at least 4 or 5 people as it is a huge portion. Our service was pretty slow that night.

"We have eaten at this location before. We are keeping track of calories and sodium intake but, sadly, this location has none of that information. Given the size of the M&S chain and the fact that they are a Landry's property, I believe Federal Guideline requires them to have this data. We were a little incredulous to hear the sever (Susan) suggest that we look for another restaurant (that had that info). We are not sure if she was joking or serious. It certainly led to an awkward silence at the table. After that she seemed very distant. The sous-chef did come out and at least provide portion sizes so we knew how much to eat. The food was good, as usual. However, I'm not so sure we'll be returning to this location any time soon."

"It had been a little while since we were there, the menu has changed and it seems there are fewer choices. They will substitute,i.e, potatoes instead of mushroom orzo, etc., but it just seemed more limited. The bread, although a good flavor, did not have the crispy crust and the first plate was not warm as before. Just didn't seem like the sourdough we were used to. No longer offer two size choices for wine by the glass which we preferred. On the other hand, our food was very good as was the service, so overall, we did enjoy our dinner."

"This was a Mother's day lunch. When we arrived, our server asked for our beverage order, and beverages were soon served. We then placed our meal order. It took about 45 minutes before we were served. We had to stop someone to ask for bread after 25 minutes. Our server did not come to our table and did not apologize until the food was served. We have been to this restaurant multiple time, and this was perhaps the worst service we received."

"We have always had a wonderful dining experience at the Oak Brook M&S. Mother's Day 2013 was the exception. After sitting for 15 minutes with no service, we stopped one of the staff and requested water and bread. We received water right away, but no bread and no additional service. We noticed, however, that people all around us were being served, even those who had been seated after us. We finally stopped a member of the wait staff and complained. She said that our waiter had to leave. I asked if we could be assigned another waiter. She said she was it and was just getting ready to take our order. We waited another 45 minutes before our meal was served. The food was delicious, however, the poor service ruined the dining experience."

"The Food was Excellent!! My compliment's to the Chef!! Every one at the table with me were still ranting and raving about the food the day after and were saying they were going to suggest it to others. The staff was friendly but the wait staff a little slow. We waited a while for each course. Probably because it was a busy Mother's Day!! Overall I would like to try it again maybe when it's not a special occasion! I give this restaurant a thumb's up!!"

"I made a reservation for Mother's Day. After we ordered, the server came back to say that not only was the fish I ordered not available, there were three other menu items not available. It was only 5:30 p.m. They offered a free Chocolate Truffle for mothers - also not available, so I got a substitute, which I didn't like. My kids ordered dessert. The server came back to say that one wasn't available. I felt sorry for the server, who said that she wasn't told in advance that these items were not available. She didn't find out until the order went in. It took the kitchen 10 minutes to let her know that the dessert wasn't available. The food was good - the experience was not."

"I took my family out for dinner on Sunday, and my mom had been craving lobster. She remembered McCormick and Schmicks having delicious lobster. At 4:30pm not only had they run out of lobster, but they ran out of catfish which was what my dad had ordered. The portions were super small, smaller than normal. We got dessert, and it was definitely not large enough to share. Our waitress seemed to be a little out of it. She surely did not greet us with a smile.
Overall, the dining experience was very disappointing."

"We made reservations 10 days out; got there and they sat us with regular menu -- we had to ask server for MD Brunch menu. Service rather slow for not may people in restaurant at 11am. Eggs Benedict arrived with eggs cooked to hard boil level. Rather underwhelming experience; especially for the money."

"Sat. Night busy. Warm wood paneling and comfortable seating. Alaskan sizzling Salmon was delicious although sauce was a bit much. Seafood trio had nice contrasts and the salmon proved delicious without sauce. However it arrived at our table barely warm as did the stuffed shrimp dinner. Clam chowder tasted good but didn't need oyster crackers to cool down. Trip from kitchen did that. Lobster bisque with lobster chunks was eloquent. Bacon wrapped shrimp was a super tasty appetizer. The waitress was friendly but we asked three times for a missing bread plate. She was overwhelmed when we asked for a bottle of wine recommendation. She admitted being more familiar with wine by the glass. Elegant refined dining. Very enjoyable!"

"We expected something great from McCormick. There was inconsistency in the delicious factor on the items we ordered. Sea Bass usually a light delicious fish was just so so with too many ingredients in the bed of veggies with pan noodles as the starch it was just too much. The tilapia crust was not browned and wet instead of nice and crispy as this fish with nut crust can be. Everything else was ok but just not the premium quality the McCormick name stands for and the prices demand."

"I took my Mom for an early Mother's Day Dinner since I refuse to spend all day waitng to eat the day of. The location was easy to find in the midst of other good restaurants. The food was GREAT and I would return with no doubt. I was too pricey. I guess the only thing I would say is that when you order soda, the don't fill your glass. But no worries....just order more."

"The food was very good. Table service was adequate. I received a call from the restaurants five hours before our scheduled arrival wanting to confirm our reservation. I confirmed that our party was indeed coming and they asked if it was a special occasion. I said it was, that it was the 47th anniversary of our friends. They said that they would have "special menus " made up that said Happy Anniversary.
The menus were never made up. Disappointing for a place that is as expensive as this one."

"I have never before written a restaurant review... I love Chilean SeaBass and order it whenever I can. This was served not hot or warm, but on the cool side. The sides were mediocre and the SeaBass was not very flavorful... disappointing. To make matters worse, the server was not very friendly at all. We will not go back."
