"Located at a historic building with a lot of history. Beautiful view of long Beach, would be more beautiful at night. Service was great, food was too expensive for the quality you got. I love dining at different restaurants, and believer the food was not all that for the price we paid. Expect an awesome view, great service, history, but no quality food."

"Located on the Long Beach waterfront the Sky Room offers great views outside and in. Its a throwback with art deco decor and giant windows overlooking the Long beach harbor from on top a high rise. The service was very professional beginning with a service elevator, attentive host, responsive bar tender and a "fabulous" waiter. Our water was instrumental in recommendations and understanding plate proportions so as to not leave our experience over stuffed. The wine list is extensive and impressive.The food was very good in quality and presentation. On the night we visited we had traditional selections of veal chop and sirloin that were on the mark. Overall a very nice dining experience and worth a visit."

"Scenic view was stupendous. Ambience was great. 40’s 50’s Band & singer were very good! Great eclectic customer dancers – very enjoyable. Drinks were very good. Food was good but not as excellent as I thought it should be from a 4 or 5 star chef. I had the black cod with soba noodles. The cod was cooked well but hardly had a distinctive taste, while the noodles were too salty. My wife had the bison ribs, she liked them but not enough to tell others to "must have them".The cheese plater was excellent but the truffle infused mushrooms were okay,but not exceptional. Our server was excellent."

At our first meeting, we hit it off and I was compelled to make the first date special as I couldn't wait to see her again!
I thought, a retro dinner date with live music. Perfect...The Sky Room. Classy, tasty with elegant retro-cool ambiance.

My date and I had a fabulous dinner and as the comfort level rose, we danced and danced. It was a magical, romantic evening.

"I had never been to this restaurant, but somehow found out about it doing a little research online. It was a really perfect spot to take a friend for her Birthday Dinner. The atmosphere was perfect, the view of the harbor was even better, especially watching the sunset. The waiter was supper friendly and really took care of us. Food was delicious and so worth going there. I would defenetly go back for another special occasion like this."

"Service was spotty but friendly: the server didn't come back to check on us until the end of the meal (we'd already been served two courses by then); the food was fantastic. Cold butter on the "fresh out of the oven" bread didn't melt, so that was a slightly awkward minor detail for such a seemingly formal dining experience."

"This restaurant offers dinner only but on Mothers Day, offered a 3 course brunch. I do not prefer the buffet brunches as you get up and down getting all kinds of foods and usually eat too much. Plus, conversation is difficult as everyone is getting up at different times. the restaurant is on the top floor of this old hotel turned residence. We were greeted with Mimosas to carry on the elevator! This restaurant offered a wonderful 3 course plan. The appetzer/salad choices were anything but ordinary and delicious. Entrees were equally as varied with a gourmet flair. the desserts ended the meal on a high note. I also enjoyed the bottomless Mimosas for a nominal extra charge."

"Mother's Day was why we were there. It won't happen again. The view is spectacular. The history is interesting. The food was average and expensive. Te drinks were watered down and our server seemed disinterested. Other the hand, if you can get the blond flamboyant guy, I didn't get his name, he's wonderful. Outstanding attention to detail, he was wonderful. I really appreciated him, but our assigned server, well, she was physically there most of the time. Next occasion we'll say grounded. BTW, IF U HAVE KIDS BRING THE KID's PASSPORT OR YOU'LL PAY AN ADULT FARE FOR A KIDS MEAL...INATTENTION TO DETAIL. It's the little things."

"This was a pleasant meal for Mother's Day brunch. The service was very friendly and helpful. The view was very special. But there was just something missing. My brother and I decided that as much as we enjoyed ourselves, we wouldn't go back. It was just a bit tired. A classic building...and it was worth it to go just to see the room...but we wouldn't go back for brunch. It seemed a bit touristy. But in all fairness, if we had tried it at night, with the view, and the ambiance of the beautiful room, we might have had a different view. Staff was great, room was classic, food was good. Just lacked a little something..."

"I've been here for dinner several times and loved the view and atmosphere. The food has been good, but not amazing. At brunch on Mother's Day, the view was lovely, as expected. We were forgotten when we arrived and left for 15 minutes in a little room adjacent to the bar. When we were seated, it was next to a family with 3 screaming children. Not an auspicious beginning. The waiter and staff were attentive and tried. The food was uneven, with some dishes being very good (heirloom tomato salad, ceviche), some being ok (lump crab eggs Benedict, tuna tartare) and some being quite bad (Kobe burger, blueberry creme brûlée). But mom was happy and we dealt with the bumps.

"The Sky Room is a wonderful place for a special occasion-or every day dining ! The view is spectacular. The food was delicious-every one in my party was pleased. Sean, our waiter was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. My only complaint was with the wine service. We had to send our first bottle of white back as it was definitely sub-par. We immediately selected another white which did not arrive until we were half way done with our meal. We enjoyed it nonetheless, but obviously would have preferred to have had our wine from the start of the meal .On a different note, my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures with the life-size Humphrey Bogart in the ladies' room ! Overall, it was a lovely Mother's Day dinner !"

"This was my 2nd visit to the Sky Room. As was the 1st time.....the food, music, view, and ambiance were well worth the visit. The restaurant seemed much busier than before(maybe because it was Mother's Day weekend), and the service was a touch slow, but not overly, and everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed themselves. "I took my husband here for a surprise date night and we had an absolute wonderful time! We got there around 6pm and sat at the bar and had a cocktail then were seated around 7pm (our reservation time). We were seated in a booth that overlooked long beach, so pretty! The band started at 8pm Tino Productions and they were incredible. They started off playing jazz and slow music then as the night went on they moved to faster music. The Sky Room doesn't rush you as they are not trying to turn table around. We took about 3 hours to dine and then moved to the bar and went to the dance floor several times. The manager, the wait staff and the bartenders were all top notch, very classy place but very fun!"

"It's the first time I've ever writing a review about a restaurant. It's really amazing the food and the view from the top that you can see almost all long beach area, and the food was perfect I ordered onion soup actually the best soup soup I had it in my life. "We Loved this place, we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, came at 5 got gorgeous spot with gorgeous view. Sarah Jane was our server and she was great, thank you. Food is delicious, we got a duck and Bison rib and it was delicious. There was a car racing event going on in Long Beach, so you could hear the car noise, but it finished pretty soon. So Only Sunset, ambient music and good food left. Will back again. Thank you."

"Me And my husband celebrated are 6 year anniversary on the 20 th of April here At the sky room this place really knows how to set the mood with great obiance and great service. The food was wonderful we had the lobster Mac and cheese and it was wonderful after are first meal we had are second I had filet mignon and my husband had the salmon it was so delicious. I would defenetley recommend are friends here great place to celebrate special occasions."

"Server didnt really recommend anything. We ordered a bottle of wine and the server didnt even let us taste it before giving us the entire bottle.. He came about 10 mins later to apologize for forgetting.. Our waiter came to our table maybe 3 times the entire dinner.. I wanted to order the Bison but it wasn't available.. It was romantic but a bit over priced..."

"A lovely place for Easter brunch! At the last minute our party of 4 turned into a party of 7 but no problem the Sky room happily obliged and gave us a great table with a view. Cocktails and food were amazing. The only thing was that is took Foreverrrrrrrr between courses and when we finally got to desert they ran out of our favorite dark chocolate crime brûlée. We had enough cocktails and mimosas to not mind but maybe something was amiss in the kitchen. Overall we had a great time and will be back. Highly recommended! Ps our girls loved the ladies room. You have to see it to believe it! Worth the trip!"

"The staff is great. Every time I have been to this resturant, they have made me feel welcome.
The view cannot be beat.
The wine list is extensive with options for every price range.
On this visit, there were 4 of us. We started with the gnocchi and lobster mac. The gnocchi was amazing. The lobster mac was good. For our mains, one ordered the bison short ribs, one ordered the salmon and two of us ordered the duck confit. I have had this dish before and was looking forward to both the duck and the walnut bread pudding that comes with it. Unfortunately, both the duck and the bread pudding were dry. I thought perhaps I had just had the mis-fortune but my dining partner had the same experience."

"We took our mother her for what would have been her and my dads 60th wedding anniversary, losing my dad in April 2011. Dad and mom grew up in Long Beach, graduating from Poly High in 51 and 52 , respectively. She had always wondered what the Breakers Hotel was like. I couldn't recommend this restaurant high enough. The food was outstanding...the service was impeccable and the view was calming. My mother beamed and that was what we wanted to see. The piano music was without a doubt so soothing and our "piano man" played non-stop for over 2 hours. So relaxing. I cannot wait to go back there. It was truly a magically evening."

"My husband and I have been looking forward to trying the Sky Room for a very long time. Once we were there we wondered what took us so long. Got there at 7pm in time to see the sunset. The view from our window table was fabulous which went along with the food. Wonderful cocktails, wonderful creamy onion soup, scallops and rib eye for dinner. Followed by a decadent hot fudge sundae and a berry napoleon. THE BEST. And thanks to Marty for spot on service."

"A fantastic find! I never would have believed such a restaurant still existed. The ambience was relaxing and romantic. My wife and I had a wonderful piano player for our Thursday night dinner. And the view of the harbor lights was amazing. The whole experience was like stepping back in time. To top it all off, the food was outstanding. I highly recommend the Baby Beet Salad and the Scottish Salmon!"
