"Had a great time here with a group of 6 - attentive, knowledgeable service but I was the only one who seemed to order the wrong appetizer and main course. The asparagus with root veg puree was delicious but only three asparagus stalks? My friends ordered the chicken, steak and halibut which looked amazing but my ravioli's were undercooked and the mixture of veggies, herbs and sauce was unpleasantly sour. Just avoid the ravioli dish and you will be fine!"

"Excellent food. I selected the sea bass, which was the best I've tasted in the City in quite some time! My partner had the chicken which was incredibly delicious.
Our service was excellent, and then again we were in on a Tuesday night and the crowd was light.
The restaurant desperately needs to be cleaned and/or remodeled. The tan velvet chairs are smudged and grimy (and I'm not saying "a little"), the paint on the walls is dull, the glass dessert case looked like it hadn't been cleaned...ever! And trash bags around the column?"

"Excellent meal for our first time at Mission Beach Cafe. We had theater tickets in the area and the restaurant had been highly recommended by a friend. I don't know much about the regular patrons of the cafe but our server seemed to give off an odd vibe about waiting on us - don't know if this place is more of a neighborhood spot and we were out of place. Anyway, only downside to an otherwise lovely dinner."

"The food is amazing! I highly recommend this jem. I have been here for brunch and dinner and the food is always exceptional. On our latest visit we were a group of 5 for dinner. The sound level was acceptable. It is a small place and is not quiet but we could hear our conversation. I ordered the mango and avocado salad and the vegetable plate. Both delicious and my plate was licked clean. Others at our table got the burger, chicken, and lamb. All raved about their meals and no leftovers on anyone's plate which I would take as a good sign. Don't skip dessert. Banana cream pie was to die for. Great service to boot and nice wine and beer selection rounds this place out as a 5 star or 2 thumbs up experience."

"We tried the Mission Beach Cafe as our dinner spot prior to attending an ACT production at the Armory. What a great find! The french fries were to die for - garlic fries toped with Parmesan cheese - amazing! The salmon was amazing. We both had it. The wine list was great and the dessert was really good too. They were out of the cherry pie, so we tried the berry pie a la mode. Really good. I think we will be returning."

"A pleasant room that was a good fit for its environs, a menu with lots of things I wanted to try, and a cheerful and helpful staff. Plus a great selection of yummy pies for dessert. A very nice experience."

"I had heard a lot of great things of the brunch at Mission Beach Cafe and was surprised to see they also served Dinner. Their dinner menu did not disappoint. I brought 4 foodie friends and they were in love with the food and ambiance."

"Food and wine selection were great - main gripe was being seated almost 45 minutes after our scheduled reservation. Staff was mostly cordial about it, but little to no apologies were made to our party."

"Well-known for brunch, but dinner's my favorite. Great burger, all California wines. Have only had excellent dishes. Creative use of vegetables definitely a highlight."

"I got to introduce my nephew and my best friend to Mission Beach. Both loved our early dinner there! I had the chicken and my friend had the halibut--both great. Nephew had the veggies--always good. They shared the butterscotch/chocolate dessert: my chicken was so rich it was like dessert. The place was packed by the time we left, but there was absolutely no pressure for us to rush. We caught up with the friend who is now in Japan, following her career Navy son and his family."

"I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and everything was just as I had heard. The service was friendly and not overbearing. The wine was very good as were the seasonal dishes. It was a bit of a splurge for me, but great for a special occasion."

"There comes a time in every man's life when he eats a burger so good he walks away knowing he could die tomorrow happy, having lived a full life. Okay, maybe a little stretch but that's how I felt after eating the burger for dinner at Mission Beach Cafe. I've had some great burgers in my day but none better than this one. Make sure you order it with the caramelized onions and sautéed mushrooms - you will not regret it! As if it couldn't get better than that - order the parmesan truffle fries on the side. One word: WOW! So good. Apple pie was extraordinary for dessert - very unique twist on apple pie and if you are a fan of apple pie...it's a must try. I was blown away by this place especially for the price."

"I came in from Carson City for the week and it was the perfect meal for my friend and me. We split two salads (beet and asparagus) and the lamb pasta, with a Mabec for me and a Barbera for my friend. We also shared the goat cheese cheesecake, which was sooo good, quite light and unlike the usuaal consistency of a cheesecake. I also had the Flying Goat Cafe Mocha, which was possibly the best coffee drink I've ever had. Will definitely go again (soon I hope) and very highly recommend it."

"I am almost embarrassed by how often I eat at Mission Beach cafe. The food is fresh, creative and always delicious. The other night I started with the wilted winter greens -- YUM -- followed by scallops over a bed of beautifully, lovingly prepared vegetable. At the end of the meal I thought "Wow, I had delicious food and it was all.....HEALTHY." Wow. The staff is always so attentive and personable -- and I just love the feel of the space. Thank you, Mission Beach."

"My greatest delight was to discover the dinner service here is as excellent as the brunch, which has always been one of my favorites in the city. In fact the dinner is even better since it doesn't come with the lines or the commotion in the restaurant. I highly recommend this when you a perfectly prepared dinner without ridiculous expense or hub bub."

"We came in with no expectations, having chosen the restaurant based mostly on location and time available, and were totally blown away by the creativity of the menu and how the actual food met the expectations set by it. The truffle fries were out of this world, the chicken and faro, the warm mushroom salad...all were fantastic. the service was timely and not overbearing. The noise level, just right. I would come back again and again!"
