"We hadn't been for a long time and got a coupon in the mail, so came back. And realized why we had been gone -- there are better options nearby. The food is good, just not great. We like the ambience and the service was very good, but there are several Italian restaurants in the west suburbs we prefer. One thing is the portion size. While I don't need the huge portions of some places, at Brio you need to order dessert because you aren't really full. The menu is large and it's possible we didn't pick the "stars" I suppose. I'd need another coupon before I went back though."

"We had a team lunch at Brio and many of us enjoyed menu selections from the lighter side menu. Everything was very tasty and our waiter was attentive. We were able to eat outdoors on the patio and had a great experience."

"I was looking forward to going to Brio for a dinner outing.

"My husband and I had a relaxing Friday night dinner. I had crab and shrimp cakes and my husband had veal. We both enjoyed our meals, we ordered the side salad of mixed greens with it for $4.75 additional. The salad was huge and really delicious. Our server Gustavo was perfect, there when we needed him with good advice. We will definately go back there, pricing was reasonable too."

"The scene was very good. The staff very welcoming and polite. I had the calamari which was excellently seasoned and cooked just right. The only know I had was that I was told via the phone that it was dress casual and when I walked in saw quit a few people with jeans and gym shoes on. Which normally does not bother had I not been told via the phone that it was not allowed."

"I really enjoyed the variety of bruschettas they offer. The portion sizes were a good and they have many different choices for those that don't necessarily want a huge bowl of pasta. The service was slow but I believe that's due to the fact that we sat in the bar area and the bartender had to cover the bar and the tables at the same time. The cucumber-gin drink that was on their drink specials menu was delicious."

"We arrived a few minutes early for our 7pm reservation and so expected to wait for a few minutes since it the restaurant was busy. Instead we were taken directly to our table by a hostess who wished my husband happy birthday (I had indicated this when I made the reservation). There was a handwritten note on the table also wishing him a happy birthday.
The service was prompt but not rushed, the waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and able to discuss the wine list. There were several items on a lighter fare menu (under 500 calories). The food was delicious. We'll be back soon."

"The absolute worst service ever. We waited for our drinks. We waited forever for our food. Then once we were done, we literally sat for 30 minutes waiting for someone to clear our plates. We had to physically get up, find a waitress, and ask for coffee. The restaurant was 1/3 empty, so it's not like they were swamped. To top it off, we talked to the manager to tell him of our awful service and his exact words were ," Oh wow. I'll have to talk to someone about that so it won't happen again." Didn't comp our coffee, didn't offer to buy us a drink, nothing. There are so many good restaurants in the area, no need to ever go back to this one."

For some reason I thought the restaurant would be a little more adult/low-key, but it's really more like Cheesecake Factory. We felt a little pressed/rushed through our glass of wine and appetizer. "Having been to Brio numerous times in Columbus, Ohio and now at this location several times, I have been disappointed in the Lombard location. The service was extremely slow. The hostess refused to move us to a different table and they totally ignored the fact that I had mentioned in my reservation that it was a very special occassion (my husband's b-day). The food was over-spiced. Even though I had a free petite dessert on my Brio card which I provided upon being seated to the server, it was not offerred until I asked for it and then it took over 15 minutes for the dessert to arrive and longer for the waitress to refill my coffee. Oh so disappointing!"

"We had a very nice Valentine's dinner with our kids. Service was great, food was delicious and it was quite speedy too! In and out in about an hour. Which was great because it was a school night and kids still had homework! We will be back!"

"We have been to Brio many times, but today was Valentine's day and I had made a reservation a month in advance, yet they put us in a back room in the corner. We always request a booth, but even though there were several booths open in the main dining room, the host (Anthony) would not give us one. We were told they "expected larger parties of 4-5", however no one else was waiting, the table they gave us could have seated 4, and the parties who quickly took the booths were all parties of 2. We were dressed nicely and were very pleasant to the host assigning the seating, and this was very disappointing."

"We love Brio. We were celebrating a birthday. Everything was great until a large group with small children were seated next to us. They allowed the kids to run about the table. This placed a damper on the evening. Besides that, Brio is always awesome!"

"This is an excellent restaurant and I've been to this locaton before. Went there for lunch with family. They had a kids "make your own pizza" special that included the kids preparing their own pizza at a counter near the kitchen. They loved it! The pizza was delicious when done too. I had am omelet and vegetable special that was fantastic! This restaurant never disappoints me."
