Birraporetti's
Birraporetti's is a "Great Italian restaurant, and a heck of an Irish bar!" Birraporetti's is located in the heart of the Houston Theater District, and just 3 blocks down from the Metrorail and Main Street. The restaurant is open late seven days a week, serves lunch and dinner continuously, and features "Live Jazz Sunday Brunch" starting every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Birraporetti's also offers catering and delivery 7 days a week. Also, if you're looking to book a private event, special occasion, or big function, Birraporetti's features a private dining room that can accommodate up to 100 people, with a full bar, restrooms and all multi-media capabilities. The restaurant is also a Houston Wi-Fi spot, and features delicious champagne bellini's and world famous Irish coffee. If you are going to a theater show, the restaurant is walking distance of the Alley Theater, Wortham Theater, Hobby Center and Jones Hall.

"This was our third time coming back for brunch. The food is good, the bottomless belinis are fantastic. The only flaws in this visit were a couple of the other patrons who were obnoxious and rude to the staff as well as the other diners. We will be back, hopefully they won't."

"I had been to Birraporetti's years before and it was pretty good. Now, it's absolutely terrible. The waitress swapped a soiled linen napkin with one on another table, messed up our order, charged us for an extra entree, and included gratuity on a 2-person table. Absolutely terrible service."

"I really enjoyed the food...very high quality! But they really need to rearrange the set up. The most popular item was the fresh omelette bar, but it was placed at the very end of the long steam table of other food items...which made for a very long line to wait for the grab and go eaters, and made for awkward moments if you tried to 'squeeze in' to get some bacon, or something. And the set up suffered from only being able to be accessed from one side of the food."

"I tried this "Jazz" brunch on a voucher offer. I rate the food fair because the pork, beef, chicken and fish offerings were overcooked. The breakfast portion had only a hot service for omelet and waffles. Biscuits were cold and no jam offered. Veggies were limited to a medley of asparagus, green beans, and mostly broccoli, 2 cold salads and roasted potatoes. For the usual price of ~$30 excluding tips/tax, I would expect shrimp or smoked salmon and some off the menu item. The food was representative of the menu offerings stated by the waitstaff. The "Jazz" was recorded music until later when a guitarist arrived. In the future I would order off the menu and skip the brunch. Nothing special."

"Four of us visited for brunch on St. Patrick's day. Our waitress was attentive and not stingy with the mimosas, colored green for the day. Overall the food was great. The lasagna, chicken alfredo, grilled fish, grilled tenderloin, corned beef and cabbage were all very good. The only complaint we had was, although the carving station roast beef was flavorful, it was cold. Everything else that we tried was good and the items that we had no room for looked good. Most of us had no room left because of the desserts. The tiramasu, cheesecake, and fresh strawberries were all very good. The other items looked good as well."

"Haven't been in a long while, but was attending the Ally Theater and decided to give it another try. I was pleasantly surprised. They have remodeled. The new resturant is much more pleasant, service was great, and the food was very good and reasonably priced. They also had a very fairly priced wine list. I will be back."

"We had a fabulous night there. We were a little late to our reservation but the staff and manager were awesome about it. Our waiter was awesome friendly and helped make our evening out a lot better. The food was great everyone was beyond satisfied, our waiter made great suggestions. He took lots of pictures for us since we were celebrating a girl's night out. I personally already loved this place and my other friends are making sure their next night out will include a stop at Birraporetti's!"

"The food was good but nothing to rave home about. The waiter was attentive. It was quiet when we came in as the theatre goers have left. It started getting busy as we were leaving when the teatres let out.
Overall was a good find... quiet and good environment for catching up with friends. Parking is however a pain in downtown Houston. A valet wouldn't go a miss."

"We frequently dine here for before attending the Symphony. The food is always great and we have had some really good servers. This particular evening, something was not right because no one from the hostess to our server smiled when greeting us or talking to us. This may seem like a small point, but we felt as if we were intruding in the place rather than being welcomed. Thank goodness, our server finally warmed up to us and our service was excellent. Just a note about the reservation - the latest we could make through Open Table was 5:15pm but when we got to the restaurant, it was practically empty and was still not crowded at 7:00 when we left. We would have preferred a later reservation, so maybe we should just call the restaurant"

"To be honest, we dine there regularly, but only because it's connected to the Alley Theatre and across the street from Jones Hall where we have season tickets. There is no other restaurant as convenient to those two venues as this one. The food is fair, but some of the items are not as good as at other places, most especially the crab cakes and chocolate mousse which leaves a trans-fat aftertaste (Whip 'n Chill???). For dessert, just go for the creme brulee which is the only really good choice. Overall, nothing to write home about, but not so bad that it prevents us from eating there. I think they are resting on some very old laurels and are surviving solely because of their convenient location."

"It was wonderful. We will go back. The only thing was the waiter did not mention an extra charge for the bottomless cocktail with the brunch. My husband is not really a drinker but ordered because he thought it was included. He only had one drink and left half of that and I only had two. When the bill came, it showed a ten dollar per person upcharge for the drinks. Had we been told, my husband would not have ordered the drink."
