Miramar Bistro combines the traditional French bistro with flair from Havana; from traditional Cuban sandwiches to steak frites, the menu is always fresh and seasonal. Service is friendly and thorough and the ambiance will take you back to 1920 Havana. The French doors open to the sidewalk patio and lend to al fresco dining both for lunch and dinner. Miramar also books parties and banquets up to 300 people.
"Went on a busy Mother's Day brunch, reservations through OT over a week prior. Host asked our name/# in party, then 4got about us, seating walk-ins &families before us. After waiting another 10 mins, my husband inquired again w/host, who apologized 4 forgetting about us &shuffled us to a table. I explained my 2yrold w/us needed 2 go down for her nap soon. No high chair was brought, despite confirmation of need. 3 busboys attempted to fill our coffees with empty carafes, 1 trying to pass off decaf for regular. We were neglected again & after 20 minutes w/o a server, we had to leave so we could get my daughter fed. It was a busy Mother's Day, but this service was beyond disappointing. Miramar may have excellent food; we'll never know."

"The food and service were excellent. I have a hearing problem in noisy rooms, so that was a bit of an issue for me, however, the problem is common for me in many restaurants and it should not be taken as a detriment to this restaurant."

"We have been visiting Miramar for over 10+ years. Our visit Saturday night did leave me thinking about the overall value in Miramar. Service is top flight. Ambience-vibrant, Drinks/Beverages-Great, Food:Portions/Prices- So so. I don't mind spending money but,,, Miramar entree prices are starting to press the $25+ range for portions/quality that is not $25-30 a plate. Our appetizers of onion soup and the chilled artichoke good- The onion soup is my favorite in the area. Artichoke was ok. Meals ranged from Nicoise salads to Scallops & Steak and Frittes (or a thin steak and shoestring potato strings-$28.50)- At that price pt I would expect a bit more meal. Overall-We will again return but may stay with appetizers-sandwiches"

"This was our first visit to Miramar in several years, after we had a couple of bad experiences during the tenure of the former chef. The food was much improved. I had a salade Lyonnaise that was perfect in every way, and the charcuterie plate also was outstanding. The service, though, was strangely inattentive. We were there for lunch, and although there were only a few other occupied tables and many waiters, we had to flag down someone to order drinks, and we waited for what seemed like an inordinately long time for our food. The waiters could not have been nicer, but they seemed to be paying little attention to us."

"Consistently a nice local restaurant option. My favorites include their mussels, caesar salad, french onion soup -- the traditional bistro fare. Their service is top notch: Gabe greets customers warmly, shakes their hand, waiters remain very observant to diner needs, glasses are continually filled and plates cleared, bread refreshed. . .very attentive."

"We started with the escargot and smoked salmon appetizers. The duck with orange sauce was crispy, but tender on the inside. My dining partner had the fish Provençal and it was moist with very clean favors. We shared the profiteroles for dessert and were stuffed. Along with two glasses of wine, the cost was very reasonable and Miramar is a neighborhood gem we will definitely return to!"

"Miramar is a real dining pleasure. It is an authentic re-creation of a true French Brasserie north of Chicago in happening Highwood. The food is outstanding, the prices reasonable and with the Owner Omni-present - the service was above and beyond excellent. This is a real gem that I hope you won't visit, as we want to keep it for ourselves!"

"I was a little disappointed that the fish was in such a rich sauce. When I order fish, I'm looking for healthy and it was dripping in rich sauce and I had trouble sleeping after."

"The place is a tiny bistro with addtl dining room on the side. Has a authentic French feel until you speak to the waiter. They hardly speak English and don't know much about the dishes. This is a minus, but the food was very fresh and gourmet. Will recommend for the small groups and French food lovers. The prices are on the higher side."

"This place is amazing! We happened upon it one evening and vowed to try it. The owner greets every patron as they enter the restaurant. Music plays over the speakers and you feel like you have just walked into a French Bistro. The seating has an intimate feel and every party in the restaurant seemed to feel like they were the only ones there. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for great food and a great atmosphere!"

"I liked Miramar. The cold artichoke app was overcooked and over-salty and frankly over chilled. The Dover sole was not the classical preparation, but still very good. The profiteroles were divine!"
