"We went for our anniversary and I was nothing less than blown away with everything! The server exceeded all of our needs and explained the menu to us very well. The food was outstanding and especially the desert was to die for. I will DEFINITELY be back!"

"Melting Pot is always a fun place to go with 2-4 friends. We are always laughing and having a great time!
It is pricey. Very easy to drop $60-$70 per person if you do the 4 entree deal and have a couple of drinks. However, it is also a great place to wind your evening up and just have a dessert fondue ($6.95 pp) or to meet for drinks and have cheese fondue (@$6.95 pp). I do this quite often.
Portion sizes are just right although since changing their menu ravioli isn't on the "classic" entree selection as it was in the past."

"I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had such a great time! The waitress was awesome and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! You would think you wouldn't get full, but we could barely make it to the dessert round. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone...and not just for special occasions!"

"We were offered the "special" for two which was $75 dollars and consisted of a lobster tail and 4 selected meats. This also included the cheese fondu, salad & desert. When the food came to the table I was shocked that the plate consisting of the lobster tail and meats was for the both of us to share. ( I almost told our server to take it back and bring me the check for the cheese. The special wasn't very well explained at all. Our meal took over two hours and we consistantly had to wait between coarses. I started to feel like a hostage by the end of our meal. The resturant itself was very nice, clean and had great atmosphere however the menu is extremly over priced and the quality wasn't what one would expect for a $100 dinner."

"Tucked away in a relatively obscure location in a large shopping center. We were seated in the back of the restaurant, which is very dark. How dark? Dark enough to make it very difficult to even read the menu.
Highlights: drinks and dessert.
The food was very good. If you order the four-course meal the food will ambush you! We enjoyed the cheese fondue course, and the salads were tasty. My wife ordered the salad with the candied pecans, and we were very happy with the quality of the lettuce used. When the main course arrived it didn't look like much meat. However, by the time we had finished the main course we hardly had room for dessert - ambushed by the deceptively large quantity of food!
Service was slow, but solid."

"The dinner my husband and I had was absolutely wonderful. Our sever Andrew was very patient and helpful with us because this was our first dinning experience. He informed us that he had only started a month ago but he gave the impression he had been there for years. It was even more special because he wished us a Happy Anniversary. The food was azaming but the dessert was our favorite. The only down fall was I wish we had a table in the corner because this was a special evening for us and we were next to a family of six. Overall the dinning was great, can't wait to come back!!!!"

"Overall my experience was good. It was the first time for my wife and she enjoyed the experience. My only issue is the wait staff, they were pretty noise talking and singing with each other. It was slow the night we went so maybe the idleness was cause. This would be my only apprehension for not going back. It is a romantic relaxed atmosphere and that would include a quiet efficient wait staff. By the way, I enjoyed the music being piped in, it set the mood and our waitress was excellent."

"The melting pot is definitely a special event go to! The prices are high but reasonable for the experience and quality of food you receive. The gluten free options are not limited to one or two items, everything can be customized! Even the gluten free desert dippers are the same just altered slightly. They have a very friendly and knowledgeable staff and service is excellent. I highly recommend this for a romantic night out or a small group get together."

"I am a big fan of the Melting Pot both Virginia Beach (where I live) and Newport News both of which I have visited a few times. I've always had good service and the food is always fresh and delicious (I suppose it should be fresh since it's still raw when you get the main meat items).
I love the whole idea of the fondue and the dessert is out of this world!"

"It's delicious, and I don't even normally eat cheese. Sure it's a little pricey, but it's worth it. Only negative, my wife did the wine pairing and the waiter couldn't figure out how to get the wine out with the food. "Loved the food, but the wine selection is not what they claim. We requested 3 different common wines and they did not have any of them. We would have bought a bottle but ended up settling on a glass of something we had never even heard of? But the food was great. Should provide more vegetables with entree. Servings are a little small for the price. The experience of the fondue however is priceless : ) Not something you can do just anywhere. My family had a fun Valentine's Day.

"I took a group of 8 year old girls and their moms to the Melting Pot for my daughter's 8th birthday. We had a great time! Since we were a larger group we had a private room, which was wonderful since the girls were a little loud/excited. They loved being able to make their own food, and of course the chocolate was yummy! We had a blast!"

"Had not been to the Melting Pot in several years. However, was invited to go with friends who were here from out of town. Everyone enjoyed their meal tremendously. Much more flavor in the dishes than we had previously experienced. The swiss cheese and artichoke cheese dip was very tasty. We chose the oil that contained red wine for cooking our entrees. This was definitely the right decision. Delicious!"

"I enjoyed dinner very much. Only one piece of meat was gristly, which was unpleasant. Everythng else was very good. Servers were friendly and timely. Did not like the music much, as it was too loud and not a type I enjoy (jazz). Would have preferred no music, to something I dont like at a high volume. Definitely intend to return and enjoy another meal someday. Have referred others already."

"Great place and food. Ambience is nice for a special time. Price is a little more than your average chains, but that's to be expected. Gets a little noisy depending on where you sit. If you want a littel more quiet go be there by 4 or ask for a little more secluded booth, there are a few. Noise was not that bad, just one of the only things I noticed as the night wore on. We had reservations at 4:30 and got there at 4:20 and they seated us right away. Not bad for kids something different like the hibachi steak houses. It would be a great time for a group of friends to go out take your time relax with some great drinks nd wrapit up with the choclate fondue!"
