The Palm - Los Angeles Downtown is located one block east of the Staples Center and housed in the historic Toy Center on the southeast corner of Flower and 11th Streets. The Palm provides seating for approximately 400 patrons and occupies 13,500 square feet. The Palm is renowned for prime beef, jumbo lobsters and authentic Italian fare and is open seven nights a week for dinner and weekdays for lunch.

"I went to the Palm with my family after graduation - I really thought highly of the restaurant after dining in their Midtown West location in NYC several times, so I thought this one would be on par. The food was excellent, though the menu seemed a bit different (was looking for the prime rib). However, the service left quite a bit to be desired for the caliber of restaurant at which we were eating. Our server was very pleasant and generally good, but often forgot a number of things, such as the water without ice my mother ordered, or the hot water she asked for after that. Even the busboys forgot to get the order in. In addition, I had ordered the surf and turf, and had to remind the server to bring the lobster once the steaks were tabled."

"We had 5;30 p reservations prior to an 8p concert. Our waitress, while lovely, was either overworked or completely lacked attention to detail. We had to remind her about the sparkling water, our bottle of Veuve was brought out in single glasses and we had to ask for refills. She corked the remaining 1/2 bottle and told us to return after the concert. We and about 20 others stood in front of the restaurant at 11:30 dismayed that they were closed.
We had Filet Mignon, lobster and salmon which was excellent. This is my go to restaurant before any Staples Center event. Very disappointed but hope one of the table runners was able to have the $70 half bottle of Veuve. They were the backbone of service this given eve."

"Food was great! Crab Cake was fantastic! The Bone-In Rib-Eye Steak was perfectly medium rare Pittsburg style! The large portion of Creamed Spinach could have be shared with three or four. My only one complaint was our waiter. He wasn't very attentive. We had to ask other wait staff for assistance, and the manager had to take our bill, because we were extremely tired of waiting again."

"This was our first time having lunch at this location, and it was wonderful! The staff was friendly, the atmosphere welcoming, the menu varied (and different from the dinner items), the food delicious, and the prices surprisingly reasonable. We'll definitely be back!"

"Was really disappointed with the direction The Palm's menu is taking. Baked potato is no longer on the menu. Almost all the potatoes (not just the au gratin) are premade with cheese... most salads have cheese. It's getting very difficult for anyone with dairy allergies to eat here. Not sure I'll be back."
