"Our meal was very good. I had the Chilean sea bass with corn relish and it was marvelous. The corn relish was killer and fish was cooked perfectly. My wife had the chicken pram and it was huge we both ate some and did not come close to finishing it.n it was so tender it just melted in your mouth."

"Service was great, food was way below average for this level of a restaurant. Baked clams were 80% bacon so we got no clam flavor. Crab cake appetizer tasteless and small. Steak was tough and full of gristle. Brussels sprouts nearly raw. Most dishes described as having lemon and garlic flavors, but came out tasteless. Ambiance of actor caricatures belongs at a Joe Crab Shack. We’ve had better meals at Outback, Saltgrass, and other chains at half the price .….would not recommend."

"This is average for a restaurant of this class. Service was less than good. Our waiter was scarce. It was just before a concert so maybe on normal nights it isn't as busy. Food was ok. Goat cheese whipped potatoes had very little flavor or goat chees."

"I am a frequent diner at The Palm due to the consistent excellence in quality of ambiance, cuisine and service that I experience. My favorite choices on the menu are the filet and chilean sea bass not to mention the sauteed spinach and then topping off the meal with the delicious italian coffe. I've raved about The Palm to my friends and have recommended they dine here when downtown taking in a show etc. I plan to visit whenever possible as to experience a flawless evening."

"We went to the Palm en route to a play at the Majestic Theater across the street. We turned a nice evening into a very special occasion. Omar, our waiter, was wonderful. Always nearby, but never intrusive, with a wonderful sense of humor and outstanding knowledge of the menu and wines. My filet was perfectly prepared and I could have cut it with my fork. My wife's veal cutlet and shrimp were also wonderful (she reluctantly let me taste them). We could not have asked for a better meal or time."

"Started out at the Bar to pass some time before our reservation. Great fried shrimp appetizer and Pinot Grigio served cheerfully and with perfect service and attention. When seated, we decided to ask for a more quiet and intimate table and were accommodated instantly with a smile. The waiter gave us a brief history of the restaurant and adequate descriptions of the specials. The food was excellent, but the portions were huge. I would have appreciated a heads up from the waiter about that, as we would have ordered one entree and split it between us. The individual portion for the side dishes is enough for 2 people as well - no need to order the family portion at all, especially for just 2 people. Most expensive meal I've had in S.A."

"We've dined here before but never on a Sunday night - the restaurant was empty! Even so, the service was slower than usual even though Bill, our waiter, seemed to rush us to place our orders. We weren't offered a complimentary dessert or anything special for our anniversary celebration as is customary in other upscale places we've been to. We'll stick to the bar on weekday evenings."

"There are certain things I expect from a high end fine dining establishment and the Palm missed the mark. First they do not bake their own breads. They source them locally and serve them cold. Not room temperature, but actually cold. When I mentioned that the bread was cold no one seemed to care. They could at least warm the breads.
Second, service staff is inattentive and we had to ask for drink refills even thoughwe were the only people in the restaurant. Other fine dining establishments I've dined in refilll drinks without being noticed. They also clear trash such as used sugar packets without being noticed, not so at the Palm.
Food quality was good but not outstanding which is what I expect for the very premium prices they charge."

"One of my favorite "special" restaurants that never fails to impress. I took my admin staff for lunch for Administrative Professionals Day and treated them to the 3-course Power Lunch. Everything was delicious! Service was prompt and unobtrusive. Our waiter even packaged our desserts to go since we had limited time. A great atmosphere, great staff and great food!"

"I really enjoyed my recent dining experience at The Palm. The staff was courteous and professional. I was having a quiet meal by myself and needed to do a little writing. They did not rush me and acknowledged my desire to have a slow, leisurely meal. The iceberg wedge salad was the best that I have ever had. My steak was lean, tender, and tasty! "While awaiting the arrival of my dinner companions, I purchased a glass of wine at the bar. They allowed me to take it out on the patio where I sat at one of their tables until my friends showed up. I thought that was nice of The Palm. I dine here frequently and have never been disappointed by the food. This time I didn't have my usual surf & turf, just the 9-oz filet with a side of fried asparagus. My friends had the New York strip with a side of potatoes au gratin. Two of us had dessert - me the key lime pie; her the huge chocolate layer cake. It took all three of us to finish that slice of cake. Two of us took home half our steak and sides. I love this place, anyway, but will always treat out-of-town guests to The Palm."

"The Palm is one of those places that you either like or don't like. The menu is heavy (pun intended) with red meat options that are large enough to feed small families. And they know how to grill a steak! On the other hand, many overlook the traditional Italian dishes that were actually the start of the restaurant chain. My dear wife enjoyed her Veal Marsala immensely (along with the half lobster she ordered with it!) Everything was perfectly cooked and served promptly. In San Antonio, The Palm's location--just a block from the Riverwalk and across the street from the Majestic Theater make it a "date" night destination."

We stopped dinning there before shows because they could never have us done by the time the show started even though we arrive over 2 hours before show time. We had more than enough Tim. "Great Restaurant with service, food and atmosphere to match. The service was impeccable and the pace of the meal was perfect. We were not rushed and had a terrific time in conversation. We sat outside, which was a bit noisy, however we wanted the "real city view" and that goes to muscle car and motorcycle noises. Don't mind hearing a Harley going by.... The time spent was great and the food was even better."

"I thought the steak was great. The sides were good. Not as good as I would have expected though. The appetizers were very good. The server was very good and the bread man was excellent. The deserts were excellent. Obviously a great place to go out to dinner. For the money I expected a bit more, but I certainly had a great time. I would recommend planning for more time if I were to go again. I felt I rushed the experience in order to catch a show and the food would have been even better if I ate it a bit slower. The steak was great though. Excellent location in San Antonio."

"We had a very nice dinner at the Palm. We started with salads and then each had petite filets which were cooked perfectly. We shared the spinach and fries and a single portion of each is plenty for a couple; especially after having salads to start and the bread. The service was very good and we weren't rushed at all. Overall it is a very nice restaurant but expensive so be prepared to spend at least $200 for a couple."

"Could not have picked a better place to eat before going to the Majestic Theater. From the moment we set down, their concern was our needs, from the time limit, food choices and even special touches like holding our left overs and take out deserts for us was all taken to heart by the whole staff. "We have always loved going to the Palm. We drive 250 miles just to dine there. We have never had bad service. The food was wonderful, but for the first time ever, we ordered our steaks medium rare and they came to us medium to medium well. Hardly any pink at all. Other than that it was very good. Brought us their new dessert, bread pudding that wonderful! A real treat and we all agreed it was unlike any bread pudding we had ever tasted. It was delish!"

"I visited The Palm on a Saturday evening and was looking forward to trying it since I had heard good things from friends. Unfortunately, I was left very disappointed with my food, although the person I was with loved hers. The service - by Omar - was excellent. He was very attentive and even gave us the history of the restaurant since this was our first time.
I felt that the table bread was pretty unremarkable. It was like a couple days old store bought bread. My salad - the house with vinaigrette - was fine but unremarkable. My biggest issue was that the swordfish I ordered was so dry I was squeezing extra lemon to revive it. The toppings were really good, and the side of haricot vert were good, if a little greasy."

"Very friendly, informative and efficient service. The environment is excellent with beautiful furnishings, lighting, etc. (The mainteance is outstanding iwth furniture, carpeting, etc. still appears like new even though the restaurants has been open for years.) Most importantly, the food was truly excellent. The steak was very tasty and perfectly cooked. The side dishes were large portions, enough for 3 persons. Definitely will go back and we are looking forward to visit the original restaurant on 2nd Ave. in NYC this May!"
