"The evening was wonderful, but that was the reason we went to Shaw's for a special occasion (my wife's birthday). The meal was tops,the waitress was outstanding (probably the best we have ever had at Shaw's), the bus boy was friendly, cordial, and right on top of everything (another outstanding job). The general manager stopped by our table to see how everything was going, What a classy touch.
It was everything we could ask for. What a wonderful evening out!"

"Expected to be mainly fish and crab etc, but based upon reviews it looked like there were moderate priced chicken and steak too. Got there and steak was $45 a plate. My wife got the chicken and it was terrible and over cooked. I guess fixing seafood that much they forgot how to cook chicken"

"Shaw's did a great job again! I am never disappointed when I dine here. This was a special birthday dinner celebration and Shaw's made another great impression on me and my guests. I love Shaw's!! "The restaurant did not keep up with replenishing the food for the buffet. At no time while we were there were all 3 salads available. Typically only one had some left. All of the hot buffet items had this issue too. The traffic pattern to and from the buffet was bad and the floor was slippery. Food quality was fair. Expected much better for the cost."

"We originally had a 6:30 reservation. We did not get seated until 7pm after bringing it to the Manager's attention. Additionally, we originally scheduled it for the Crab Buffet and upon our arrival, we were told that it wasn't occurring because of a private party. Took an hour for dinners to arrive. King Crab legs were cold and overcooked. Bad experience. The manager attempted to rectify the situation."

"Whenever we have a taste for some fresh seafood we always seem to wind up at Shaw's. As usual they did not disappoint. The halibut is excellent no matter how they serve it. While the dining room area would qualify as a "romantic" spot (white table cloths, subdued lighting, etc.) my husband and I prefer the more lively Oyster Bar. We used to like the outdoor seating in the summer and were sad to see that Toko Rio has taken over that space."

"Starting with a well priced wine bottle list, raw oyster bar, and crab thats is rich even without the melted butter, Shaw's never fails you in the romance department. From start to finish, your meal is delightfully sinful in flavor. The decor and ambiance allow for a "dress up" night and the scene is lively and fun at both the oyster bar as well as the dining room bar. Expect great things after a night at Shaw's. One of our favorites when celebrating an event. Recommended is the Red King Crab....fit for a king and queen."

"This was our second time at this location. The food and service was excellent. The noise level is very conversation friendly. We dined with friends whom we hadn't seen in a long time and there was no hurry on the part of the staff to 'whoosh' us out the door. Crab cakes, grouper and haddock were our entrees and all were really good."

"We went to Shaws for a special date. We always request to sit on bar because it is more casual and relaxed. Plus on Saturday not there is live music. I ordered the King Crab roll and a spicy shrimp tempura Maki. My husband had blackened shrimp tacos. Both prepared excellently and super fresh. Nothing drenched in sauces to hide the flavor because it was delicious on its own. The dessert menu is wonderful too but we were so full we didn't need it."

"First it is hard to believe that a restaurant in the level that Shaws is claiming to be by their high prices, cannot spend some money on some well made chairs. Not sure why so many of the Lettuce Entertain You restaurants have cheap, hard chairs. The service was very good, wait staff attentive, and friendly. The food was just not up to the prices they were charging. The house made chips were gritty, the Lobster Roll was bland and tasteless, the King Crab legs were warm not hot and they became cold quickly due to the air in the room. This was a special occasion for us, we will not be retuning back, since we felt as though we did not get the quality of food nor the comfortable seating that we assumed this restaurant wold have."

King Crab legs were rather bland and overcooked, Lobster tail was slightly overdone but passable. Scallop dish was not as expected. Flavors clashed, did not care for the parsley and celery with the potatoes, the scallops were bland and the sauce seemed non-existent other than seeing it on the plate.
Even the Creme Brulee for dessert was sub par.
The only decent part of the meal were the fresh oysters, no complaints there

"It is a lovely atmosphere evoking the 40's or 50's... just so comfortable and warm. The best part was their willingness to seat us in a quieter area and turn the volume down on the music...few places are so accommodating!
The service was spot on.. and the food delicious! I could have simply kept getting more bowls of the lobster bisque and been happy! The chopped seafood salad was delicious and there was a fair amount of everything listed which is not the case in most places these days either.. and the small and inexpensive desserts.. divine!! The bananas foster and key lime pie were devoured!!!
My sisters and I met for lunch here and felt like we were on a mini vacation somewhere far away ... relaxing and just right on all levels!"

"Food and service was excellent! Fresh Seafood, Alaskan Red King,Crablegs were awesome, as were the Oysters in the half shell. New England Clam Chowder great too! The piece of chocolate cake was for my girlfriends Birthday, which was free, and very tasty, it was a huge piece! The Red Raspberry Pie was chocked full of raspberries, tart and delicious. This was our first time here, we WILL definitely be back!"

"We treated ourselves to Shaw's. It is not an inexpensive evening but the fish is always great. The only problem we had was that it was more than 45 minutes from placing our order to getting our appetizers. The two tables seated at least 10 minutes after us, who placed their orders after we did, both got their appetizers and entrees before we did. We had a good waitress but I cannot figure out what we had to wait for.

"Really want this restaurant to be one we can enjoy in the suburbs. Decided to give it a second try. Was disappointed when there in March. Last time they forgot out appetizers. This time again the crab was overcooked and smelled bad. They forgot to give me a seafood fork and cricker. My husband's scallops were overcooked and small. The waiter forgot to come back and check on our table and really wasn't around. We are Lettuce frequent diners and he didn't know how to access our account then the manager came over and hadn't gotten the right information from him so needed us to reaches out app. Not sure what to say. I really hope they improve. It's hard to find good seafood in the city let alone the suburbs. Can't recommend."

"I made reservations because I saw the ad for Sunday Brunch and it said live music. I was disappointed that we were told they only have live music on Saturdays not Sundays. Also we were sat in the bar until we complained and then were moved to the dining area. The food was good and the service was good, but they charge for mimosa's which I thought were included. It is expensive for what you get."

"What more can you say - if you want consistently perfectly-done seafood, go to Shaw's. I had halibut with ivory lentils and carrot broth - it was delicious and perfectly done. The person with whom I dined had fried shrimp and fries - they said it was excellent. We also both had wedge salads - the ingredients were totally fresh and despite the salad being huge, I devoured it because it tasted so good. They also gave us a basket with excellent lavash and cheesy rolls. Yum! You can't afford to dine there all the time, but as a special occasion, it's way worth the trip."

"We went to Shaws based on a suggestion from a friend. We were told the seafood was amazing so we decided to go here for my husbands birthday. We made reservations ahead of time and I'm glad we did because the wait time was almost an hour without them. We were sat near the bar in a cozy booth. The drink menu was reasonably priced. My husband and I had the sampler combo which was a little pricey at $14 per person based on the small amount you're given. But it was very good as well. For our main course my husband had the Alaskan crab and steak combo. He kept on saying its the best crab he's ever had. I had to then try it and he was right! Supremely delicious! My entree was the lobster and pasta, very good also. Will definitely go again!"
