"Overall food was really very good. I recommend the Chilean sea bass with red rice, so amazing. My friend had the fillet mignon,made just the way he wants it. The place was quiet,even if there was a private party on one corner of the room. I highly recommend this place."

"I have recently had a couple of lunches and dinners at Gaby. Gaby is an ideal spot for lunch. The 30-minute lunch is a 4-course French meal presented Japanese style (I had barley soup, smoked salmon, bass quinoa and mango panacotta). I also had a "lean" lunch of poached cod and rice. Both were excellent. Dinner menu has a relatively limited number of choices but each entrée is very good. The wine list likewise is limited but whoever made the selection has done a good job. The ambiance is elegant and noise level is low, allowing for a productive business lunch or a nice, relaxed dinner. Bottom line: a surprisingly good hotel restaurant, and one of a very few that I would think of going to if I did not stay at the same hotel."

"Out of 3 dishes our group ordered from the day's special menu of only 6 items, without telling us ahead of time. Two of us ordered a salad from the special menu, and were served a substitute, without any acknowledgement that it was a substitute. We requested the salad we ordered, and they returned with parts of the old salad with a few of the lettuces from the salad we originally ordered. Maitre di gave us a half apology. A very disappointing evening for us and our out-of-town guests!"

"It was our own fault for not booking a restaurant in the theater district earlier, but Gaby was one of a very few available with reasonable Zagats' ratings. Unfortunately, the service did not live up to the Zagats review and the food was only okay. While we all did the pre-theater menu, and the food was okay, there were critical matters that our waiter left out of the equation. We did make it to our show on time on the good side."

"Very convenient for the Theater district. Very friendly professional staff. Good selection for adults + a children's menu that isn't just an after thought.

My only complaint is that despite not being crowded, our waiter didn't check back with us and getting a refill on drinks took much longer than it should.

It is fairly pricey, but elegant and delicious."

"While we normally stay away from restaurants in hotels, Gaby's was definitely a find for brunch. Unlike most places that we have dined at, this was very quite so we could talk in normal converstional tones. In addition, we were not rushed to free up the table. Also, the value received was exceptional. We will definitely go back for brunch. We will most likely try it for dinner as well but was not that improessed with the menu that is currently shown on their website."

"Outstanding service! This is the main reason I keep coming back to Gaby's. The food is somewhat hit or miss although the menu has a few reliable standbys. Especially the organic chicken. A recently added shrimp salad appetizer is also very good. This restaurant has a lovely ambiance, with glass walls facing 45th Street which makes for a great urban-feel setting. Miraculously, it is also pretty quiet so one can actually have a conversation with the meal. In the evenings, it is best to eat in the bar area. Several items on the bar menu are excellent; the small filet in particular. I can also recommend the cheese plate options."
