Since we first opened in 1995, Steamworks has been a favourite of Vancouver locals and visitors alike. Whether you're joining us for lunch, a drink after work, or a group dinner with friends and colleagues, we're honoured to have you with us.
Steamworks gets its name from the famous Gastown steam line that runs through our premises. Our onsite brewery uses steam to fire its kettles. The instant heat of steam allows for greater brewing finesse, and most importantly great tasting beer. Whether you're in the mood for a thirst quenching Lions Gate® lager, or a full bodied HeriocaTM Oatmeal Stout, we've got a beer to please your palate.

"Super fun pub with good beer in a fun neighborhood. Our waiter was great when things had calmed down but he was way too busy with way too many tables as were all the other servers. We had to wait 20 minutes before we could even order beer and the food is pretty missable. Fun atmosphere though and it's a good place to hang out but there are tons of restaurants with much better food in the city."

"The restaurant was much bigger than I anticipated and the food was very good! Server was absent more than usual but he had a lot more tables and made up for his conversational skills. I would recommend this place based on its location and its ambiance."

"Was there for Friday lunch, was very good. Server was just the right amount of attentive and very pleasant. My guest and I both had the Miso Salmon salad and it was delicious... will definitely order this again. The menu notes the salmon is prepared medium and while this slightly bothered my guest I didn't mind at all (prefer it over well-done/over cooked).
Steamworks has always been reliable and I will be back!
The reason all 4 stars is because it was quite loud and I didn't like how the bench by the window with the view is so much higher than the chair for all those tables. Very awkward! I reserve 5 stars for out of the"

"Next time I made a reservation I would book ask for a main level window seat. I didn't know the layout so we ended up in the lower level bar area. The music was louder than we liked (but we are older and actually like to have conversations over the meal) but other than that, it was very nice. The food was good. Portions large! I shared the duck lettuce wrap which was lovely but could have been a meal in itself and followed it up with the steak and blue cheese salad. Really nice."

"We reserved for 4 45 and were put at the farthest table in the back right next to the kitchen. Noone around us had arrived and we could have been seated atleast a little further back. Two of us got there a bit earlier for a drink, but the table was early so we sat down and we had a nice lady serve us drinks. Once the rest of the party got there, the hostess didn't realize we didn't have menus, I had to go up and get some myself. Then our waitress saw us maybe 3 times during the whole stay. So we had a loud gossipy table with all of the staff gathering at the kitchen, when there were other available tables (not sure when those were booked for or if they were) and not the best service. But the food came fast :)"

"I always have the same experience at Steamworks. The menu is great, however the service always seems to be lacking. The hostess has been rude on more than one occasion and my server always seems to be overwhelmed. Great for a night where you are not in a rush or you take a seat at the bar. However, avoid this place during the week for lunch. A burger on my last visit took about 30 minutes and I was on my lunch break so I grabbed it to go."

"Eight coworkers visited on a Thursday night following a conference. 4 of us got dinners in a good time , but the others didn't receive food until we were nearly finished. It was awkward as the waitress seemed frustrated but tried to solve the issue. Were met and served complimentary wine to by the manager. This was appreciated. I would hesitate to recommend based upon this experience, but will try the restaurant again personally. Mistakes happen. Also didn't like sitting so near the kitchen, especially after having made an online reservation."

"I've been here twice with groups. It's best for beer lovers, and comfort food. The Nacho Platter was enough for four hungry people to share (pre dinner of course). Does get crowded and table/chair space is tight."
