"Very busy on a Sat. p.m.....but when we did get to our table had wonderful service...and wine was gratis as we had to wait....we were treated to an engagement...on his knees and all! Very noisy, but excellent food....am sure it's less so when the outside dining is available. Not sure if we'll ever get back to Cape May, but if so, we'll certainly put this restaurant on our list! We have suggested it to others."

"While the noise level was a little high in the dining room when we arrived, it got better as the night went on. Nice selection of choices, good wine list, great presentation of meals and the food was very good! Very comfortable room and nice mix of customers. It wasn't your usual Cape May crowd - might have more to do with the time of year than anything else. Can't remember our waiters name, a man about 40 or so, but service was excellent!! When leaving for the evening, we went through the bar and there was a very lively scene in that room that looked like a lot of fun. Would definitely return and plan on doing so this summer."

"This was always one of our favorites in Cape May but this time, maybe because it was "off season", wasn't as good as we remember it. Everything was just OK except the service which as always was wonderful. We will be back but like I said the salmon was overcooked and my husbands steak was also overcooked. The asparagus were as big as tree branches and very undercooked. So like you can see was so hit or miss with everything. OH and the bread and hummus was delicious. We will go there again and give it another try. Waiter was terrific!!"

The wait staff is well-versed in their kitchen's capability and is most thoughtful and considerate when it comes to the diner's likes or dislikes. Varied menu; octopus appetizer excellent and lots of "meat"; bronzino slightly over-cooked and perhaps waiter should have de-boned it, but quite tasty. have recommended it highly to our tenants of our rental unit for the summer."

"Great restaurant across from the beach! (located right near La Mer motel)We loved the food! The calamari with the three dipping sauces was really delicious along with the grilled octopus. Veal chop was very large and quite tasty! Nice portion size for $42. Pasta with chicken and sausage was spicy and very flavorful! Wine selections were great. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was very helpful in ordering our entrees and extremely attentive.Dessert...we had the chocolate chip creme ball ....deliciousThey also have a great bar...small but cozy! Will definitely go back again"

"All 6 of us enjoyed our meals. The appetizers alone are worth the trip! We all had fish dishes and each dish was well prepared and a generous portion. The sea bass may have been the favorite dish after taste testing, but every meal was tasty and would be recommended. Looking forward to our next visit!"

"We had not been to the location since it was The Water's Edge. We enjoy Greek food, which dominates the menu. It was very quiet on a Sunday night in March, but the bar noise drifted in to interfere with the pleasant Greek music in the background. We enjoyed the calimari, chicken souvlaki and lamb shank; the food was good, the supporting vegetables excellently prepared, and the portions quite large. We will return to enjoy something from the varied fish menu."

"This is an attractive restaurant with an interesting menu. We enjoyed the fried calamari appetizer with its dipping sauce trio. I made the mistake of ordering the flash fried flounder, also with a sauce trio. It was over done and too much fried food & repetition for me in one night. My husband’s lamb shank was disappointing and ‘just ordinary, not particularly tender or tasty.’ He said he ‘could've had better at home.’ Flattering for me yes but when we drop $160 on dinner, which would’ve been better spent on groceries for a week, we're not after ordinary - we want special. My husband says we’re not going back. Well-timed, friendly service."

"We live in Cape May and The Pier House is our "go-to" restaurant for special occasions and visitors we like to impress. The service is always understated and excellent. The food is superb and special. We like the Mediterranean style food. We always have the watermelon/feta salad and vary our entrees to match our moods. We always make a reservation and never need to wait for a table. It is comfortable with a tables and booths. We are never rushed. It's our favorite place. And you can find parking easily."

"We enjoyed our Valentines Dinner. It was great to have the watermelon and feta appetizer in the middle of winter, and the crab mangotini was spectacular. "This is one of my boyfriends and myselfs favorite resturant, the food is unbelieveably good and the servers and the bartender are so pleasant and accomadating, there isnt anyone in that place that isnt nice. The hostess is a doll. We are always treated with the most respect, also in the summer try the outside garden, you will think you are on vacation in the islands somewhere.. also try the watermelon salad yummy cant say enough about this place and their staff, its a winner in my book over and over...one more thing portions are huge.."

"My experience at the Pier House was overall very good. From the moment I walked through the door I was greeted with a friendly hello and smiles all around. They have a cozy and quaint little bar with several small booths around it. The food was excellent in both taste and presentation.
My only criticism about my dinning experience would be how bright the main dinning room was. The outside lights that shine on the exterior of the building bleed into the main dinning room killing any ambiance. In hind sight, I should have sat in the booths near the bar where it was much darker and cozier."

"we loved our visit, once again, to the pier house. you have to try the kalamari (yes, spelled with a "k" and the macho tuna. those are just two of the amazing appetizers. My ph balance dinner of filet and a tempura lobster tail were to die for delicious! Service was excellent as well. I cannot wait to go back."
