"My wife & I visited Zink American Kitchen for dinner on Valentines Day. We had no idea that they were closing, which is really too bad because I thought the food was good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very nice. I thought the bill was going to fairly high since we order multiple tapas style dishes, but it ended up being equal or less than what we usually spend to go out on any give Friday or Saturday night.
I haven't checked to see what will be replacing Zink, but I'm looking forward to booking a table there through OpenTable when they open. :)"

"I visited Zink American Kitchen on Friday, February 22nd and the food was great. However, our server told us this was the last weekend the restaurant would be open. - Unfortunate - The ambiance and decor were very nice, and my group really enjoyed the visit. Service was a little slow, but all-and-all, a good experience."

The pork belly is delicious if you do not mind the grease, the the lobster mac and cheese actually had large pieces of lobster in it unlike most places. Tuna tacos packed a flavorful punch. "We went to Zink during Queen's Feast in Charlotte. Their menu selections had a broad range of items from caramel corn and fried black-eyed peas to trout and pork belly. For our "snack" starter, we got the spreads, fresh caramel corn, fried black-eyed peas, and homemade chips with tzatziki and blue cheese, which were a perfect start. As my appetizer, I ordered the pumpkin ravioli. The flavor was strong and perfectly spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon. My main course was THE best meal I have eaten. Flank steak (perfectly cooked) served on a bed of grits with braised brussel sprouts and arugula salad, with a bit of reduced port on the side. To die for! To cap of the meal, I enjoyed the apple cheesecake and a bite of bread pudding. Delicious!"

When I think of that, I expect chicken, vegetables, gravy in a deep dish with a fluffy crust on top. This dish was very good, but it wasn't what I expected. "We went here for Queen's Feast (aka Charlotte Resataurant Week). We started with the "snack". I chose the fresh potato chips with blue cheese and my husband chose the hummus. Both were tasty, but there was not enough bread for the hummus. Next we both chose a "hot". The pumpkin ravioli were flavorful and light and I will dream about the lobster Mac and cheese until I go back. It was absolutely heavenly. For our entrees my husband had the knife and fork gyro and I ordered the Waygu beef flank. The freshly made pita and perfectly cooked lamb elevated this street-food classic to another level. The flank was served atop a layer of creamy grits and charred Brussels sprouts, then topped with lightly dressed salad greens. In a word: delicious!"

"Went for restaurant week. Everything was delicious! The hummus was great, the Lobster Mac N Cheese had big pieces of lobster, even the caramel corn and chips were great starter, the Organic Deconstructed Chicken Pot Pie was something I dont usually order and was AMAZING, and the Banana Pudding dessert was to die for!! Topped with a great Tuscan wine, it was the perfect birthday night!"

"Somewhat of a trendy/eclectic restaurant though the food was very good and there were many choices on the menu that I would want to go back to try so I hope that keeps the interest there for its customers. I had their chili and the mountain trout and both were excellent. My wife had the lobster mac and cheese (what is not to love about that???) and the knife and fork gyro...which was a little disappointing. There were several other choices that looked really good too. Our server was excellent and the ambiance was nice for a very good "date night" without the kids!"

"We've been wanting to try Zink ever since we moved to Uptown Charlotte from the northeast almost three years ago. No sooner were we finally settled in Zink disappeared on us (they re-opened in the Southpark area where we intend to move come this Spring). We dined there for a late lunch this past Saturday and were absolutely delighted with all. A neighborhood merchant said "their Brisket burgers are to DIE for" (husband agreed) and I found the description of their roasted poblano, chicken, & white corn chili sounded like something that would "hit the spot" for me, and it sure did! Our very friendly and enthusiastic server proudly pointed out that the restaurant had won an award for this chili (no surprise to us!). Zink is our new favorite!"
