"My wife and I discovered Brasa when we saw the head chef compete on Iron Chef. The food and flavors here are spectacular. They really let the food and ingredients speak for themselves which we love."

"Never had a meal that wasn't delicious and intriguing to the palate (and we eat there on a monthly basis). Brasa might be on the more expensive side, but they are worth every penny from the service, wine selection, ambiance and of course, the menu."

"The food was fantastic, which made it even more disappointing that the service was almost non-existant. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived, and our server kept disappearing for long stretches of time before we ordered. We ended up ordering our drinks, appetizer and meals all at the same time because we had so much time to look at the menu. Shortly after our food arrived our server disappeared all together, without any notice or letting us know someone else woud be taking care of us for the rest of the meal. The replacement was just as bad, which was really sad because the food was fantastic. Overall not really worth the money spent because of the service, I left feeling ripped off."

"Service was fine...nothing notable in either direction. The cocktails were very good, creative and the atmosphere was nice. However, I was pretty disappointed in the food (with the exception of the carrot, turnip salad). bland, bland, bland. The Beef sirlion entree' was ordered by more than one person at the table, all with the same reaction...tough (med-rare), no flavor, and each steak was of noticably different size and portion. We ate because we were hungry and probably won't be going back...which is a shame because it seems like it has potential."

"The ceiling acrobatics saved it from being a very dull eveing. The food was not wonderful, our apitizer we couldn't even eat. The main course was edible but nothing I'd recomend. The environment was very soothing, pleasent and romantic, just not a place to go unless your just in the mood for drinks"

"We went there because it had good Zagat scores. As a good start, ambiance was above average. Less than a dozen tables were filled. The waiter was friendly, but menu was limited. He explained that the menu rotates a lot. OK. The appetizer was above average, but we waited over 30 minutes for it. After the initial reception, the waiter never reappeared except to serve the appetizer and main course. Water was never refilled, although a person kept asking if we wanted more wine or cocktails. Then the disaster came, as dinner was far below average (especially since it was supposed to be from an iron chef!), and came an hour after ordering. We felt so poor about the experience that we did not even try the dessert. We will never go back."

"Wonderful flavors in everything we ordered and over the top fabulous service. Although I felt the food was a bit overpriced for what it was. Entree sizes were on the spare side, but cost as much as other expensive restaurants where you receive a bit more for the money. Probably not somewhere we will go often due to cost. The bar side has better value and is a lot of fun. Recommended for Happy Hour and late night snacks."

"We have dined at Brasa several times now on trips to Seattle. The room is very comfortable and the staff is always great. Although one of us always orders the Pig (which we consider their house specialty) we were disappointed to see that the other items are the same as they have been for a long time. We were also disappointed that they didn't have any special features given that it was Valentines Day weekend. A couple of new inventive entrees would have been a nice change. Our server was wonderful and overall we enjoyed the evening."

"Got reservations for Valentine's Day at 7:15PM and after a coat check were seated promptly at a table. We ordered Whiskey Sours to begin with that held up to the ones made for us at the Whiskey Bar just up the block. We had a great starter of clams, shared the White Bean & Kale Soup, with some great crusty bread with olive oil. I ordered the Pappardelle pasta with meatballs, and it was delicious with pine nuts and kale. My girlfriend had the Beef Short Ribs that she was cutting with a fork and said had great flavor. The wait staff was extremely polite, quick with answers to questions, and not too fast with the next entree'. Did I mention the corseted acrobatic women on cloth above us? Poetry in Motion, a great night, thank you Brasa."

"Unfortunately our dinner at Brasa was dreadful. The service was inattentive and indifferent. The meals were so small that we left hungry : a scallop entrée was 3 scallops and a short rib beef entrée consisted of one rib. The scallops were rubbery and not too warm. The beef was mediocre. The side dishes had no relation to the main dish and were tasteless. I would definitely not recommend it."

"Brasa is wonderful particularly for Valentine's Day. The food is very good and they have an excellent cheese table. I had scallops and my wife had pulled pork with clams. They were were delicious. They had two trapeeze artists dressed in red performing during dinner which was entertaining but not intrusive. I highly recommend Brasa for any occasion."

"We had a fine time at Barsa. We were a little trepidatious because of some of the negative reviews. The food was very tasty, if a little expensive. "I'm not sure why we thought we needed a reservation. The place was 1/3 full at 8 pm on a Friday night. My papardelle and albondiagas was inedible due to the amount of salt applied to it. My friend tried to order a non-alcoholic drink and the waiter said they don't do blender drinks so all they have is juice. He was too lazy to ask the bored bartender to come up with something other than plain orange juice. The waiter was also quite late in bringing us our second bottle of wine--we were more than 1/2 finished with our entree when it arrived. I'm not sure the restaurant will survive in this economy. There are too many other great places to go."

"While the food was great, the service was horrid. We ordered our appetizers and main courses right away, yet our meal took over 2 hours - so long in fact that we didn't even ask for the dessert menu - which we almost always look at and usually order.

Also, there was a ton of sand and grit in about half of the clams we ate. While this would normally not bother us too much as it can happen and we realize cleaning clams can be difficult, but combined with the awful service, it definitely put a damper on our meal."

"I don't know if they were short-staffed that night (Saturday in Jan) but service was slow despite the restaurant being reasonably empty - we had a reservation but it was clearly not necessary and a nice artifact of the recession

When we flagged down our waiter and got the drinks orders in, the Champagne (French) was not placed in an ice-bucket after the first pour.

When the meals arrived, they did a good job of bringing all the plates out together, except for one poor lady at our table who was left hanging for a while - it wasn't a matter of not enough hands, the meal was clearly not ready with the rest.

I'll go back, but it would be giving them their 2nd chance for sure. I was not terribly impressed. Table of 6, so 18% grat, no ch"

"I love Brasa. Been going there for years and hope to for many years to come. Celebrated a few birthdays there. Great for group dining up to 6. Lots of nice booths to settle into. Food is consistenty good. Like the option of smaller meals for 1/2 price. We ordered one full entree and two half meals. Perfect for two. The bar happy hour is a fantastic way to grab a bite and sample Brasa's menu at half the price."

"We decided to forgo appetizers and salads to ensure adequate room was saved for dessert. I ordered scallops with quinoa in a fennel and citrus sauce, my friends ordered the Portuguese pig (clams, chorizo, bay scented potato, smoked paprika) and mussels (heirloom beans, caramelized sweet onion, crostini). The scallops were properly cooked, but one of the three (yes, only three little scallops arrived on my plate) had a distinctly fishy taste that told me it was past its prime. The quinoa was excellent with an earthy, nutty flavor; well-complemented by the citrus sauce. The mussels: nothing really stood out that made the taste buds sing. The Portuguese pig was very salty and the salt overshadowed the rest of the dish."

"The service was excellent. Location is good and parking just around the corner.

The food was all right. Don't know if it was my selection or my expectations but it didn't have a Wow factor.

I may give it another try when I go to Seattle again.

"Not a great experience at all. After we ordered, we spent 15 - 20 minutes sitting there with no wine, no bread. First plates arrived in about an hour and second plates maybe 45 minutes later. We were sitting at the table for 2 1/2 hours, but not by our choice. The waiter never stopped by to see how we were doing; he just seemed annoyed when we would ask about our food. Anything we got from the waiter we had to ask for (and mostly by stopping him as he ran by). The food was also mediocre. Our first plate was the grilled vegetables, which had too many onions and they were burnt. The papardelle arrived on a cold plate, was overcooked and stuck together, and had a piece of dry hamburger on top that was supposed to pass for sausage. Bla."

"We were really disappointed in Brasa's service. Our waiter couldn't have been less enthusiastic. It took forever to get bread, forever to get a glass of wine, even longer to see our salads (which were very good), and several decades to get our entrees (one fine, one terrible). And it wasn't like the place was full; it was fairly empty for a Saturday night. One bright note: the water refill person was great--the second my water glass was empty, it was full again, and with clean, refreshing, ice cold water. It sounds like a small detail, but it's important to me. Other than that: blah. We've been to Brasa before and have experienced better, so maybe it was just an off night. I hope so!"
