"La vera cucina Italiana!" (The real Italian cuisine!) La Volpe Ristorante has that true, family touch and meticulous attention to detail that is not found in corporate restaurants. Located on eastern Long Island in Center Moriches, La Volpe is a year-round destination for a fantastic culinary adventure that is a perfect balance of quality and value.
Executive Chef Franco Volpe and his mother Maria Teresa carefully compiled a Mediterranean-inspired menu that combines Franco's creative contemporary style and Maria Teresa's traditional family recipes. The eclectic menu is filled with fresh seafood, all-natural steaks and chicken, hearty pastas, home-style soups and light, tasty salads. La Volpe Ristorante also boasts an unparalleled award winning wine list with something for everyone.
Not to be outdone, Anton Pizzeria, next door, serves the finest wood-burning brick oven pizza and specialty pies outside of Italy, plus world class catering.
"There were 13 of us, including 2 little boys, 6 & 7, to celebrate a family member's birthday. Staff could not have been more pleasant to our gang, and so helpful with children's food choices. Food is five star ! The Specials her are always incredible. We are fortunate to have La Volpe in our area."

"An incredible experience from start to finish at this family-owned gem! We were greeted warmly and made immediately welcome. Service was spot-on; gracious and charming while never intrusive or overly formal. The restaurant itself was lovely; elegant with a hint of "rustico". The lighting was perfect and the tables were nicely spaced.
The cuisine was among the finest I've experienced anywhere. Every item was expertly prepared, and drew subtle flavoring from wonderfully fresh ingredients; even the presentation was superb. We enjoyed every savory bite of mozzarela di bufala, lobster raviola, orrichette alla barese, and baby bak choy con cannelini. We concluded with a superb tiramisu!
La Volpe also maintains a very respectable wine"

"Good food and ambiance a little noisy. Not very customer friendly - no subtitues for pasta without a charge. Split a salad if done in the kitchen will cost $2."

"We dined at La Volpe over the weekend, and we had a fantastic time to say the least. From the second we walked in the door, we were treated like family. We were greated with smiling faces, and the hostesses were very accommodating in giving us the very best table. Our server was extremely knowledgable. Any questions we had regarding the inpressive menu and extensive wine list were answered right away. The food was extremely tasty and well presented. My husbands filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and I had the ravioli with truffle oil that was out of this world. We will definitely be coming back, and will highly recommend La Volpe to our friends and family as well."

"The food is fabulous, and the service could not be friendlier or more efficient. It was a wonderful experience and, although the restaurant is not local for me, I know I will be back. It's well worth the trip."

"As far as authentic Italian food goes, you don't get any better than La Volpe. You can tell everything is cooked fresh, with seasonal ingredients. They also have an incredible lunch special for $16! I tried the sautéed artichokes with arugula, then the cavitelli bolognese. To die for! You can't go wrong with anything on their menu."

"We sat with no food and drinks for over 1/2 hour after appetizer empty plates were taken away, after dinner we were given the desert menu, ordered coffee when we received menu, coffee was delivered by another, we finished coffee, and 12 minutes after coffee was finished waitress finally came back to take our dessert order. The whole dinner experience took over three hours. With at least 2 hours without food on table and at least 1 hour with no drinks."

"I have dined at la volpe in the past & have been very pleased with both food & service. Unfortunately on Mother's Day la volpe was not prepared. The service was only fair. The food took a long time to come out. In addition my husbands dinner came out after everyone else's. most of us were almost done with our entrees. Also we had to continually ask for or water glasses to be refilled. We decided not to order dessert or coffee for fear of how long it would take."

"We had a 7:30 reservation. We had to wait about twenty five minutes to be seated. Our waiter Chris was great. We order a bottle of Wine that came wright away, but our salad came about fifty minutes later. Our Dinner came about twenty five minutes after the salad. My Wife and I were very surprised, because we have eaten here several times and never had an experience like this before. We were their from 7:20 pm. to 9:45 pm. I will say the food and our waiter Chris were great."

"We visited La Volpe for the third time. As usual, we were very pleased with our meal and with the service. The restaurant is very clean, which is extremely important. Wine and Martinis were excellent. We ordered our favorite artichoke appetizer and it was fantastic! Prawns appetizer was also very nice, as was the calamari; fried very nicely and very tender. We all ordered shellfish for the main course and as usual, the shellfish was fresh and cooked very well. The blood orange sorbetto was amazing. Service was outstanding. The food is always fresh and delicious, the portions are a nice size. You don't leave feeling overstuffed and uncomfortable. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal and night out."

"La Volpe is our favorite local restaurant. We eat here at least once a week. The food is always great. It is not your usual italian fare. Going there to eat is like eating with family. We love it!"

"A suburban Italian restaurant with urban food and style. We can always count on having a great meal here. They offer all the usual standards, but it is worth your while to branch out and try some of their regional specialities, which are likely to be genuine family recipes!"

"This was the 6th time we dined at LaVolpe. We were dining out with friends and I recommended LaVolpe since we enjoyed it on our previous visits. This time, however, I was disappointed. The service was slow at best - we did not get asked if we were enjoying our meal and there was no offer of a coffee refill. I had the special meatball appetizer which was just okay as was my main course, the veal saltimboca. The side dish of spaghetti with sauce was fair - the sauce was watery with chunks of tomato on top of the pasta. Unfortunately, I would hesitate to recommend LaVolpe again."

"Once again La Volpe proves that is one of the best Italian restaurants on Long Island. The food is amazing and the service wonderful. It is very hard to find Braciole on a menu but La Volpe is an exception, probably the best braciole I have ever had. Fabulous tuna and avocado appetizer as well. We were there for a birthday celebration and it could not have been better. The singing of Happy Birthday in Italian closed out a fabulous evening. A special thank you to our server Angela who was fabulous and extremely attentive."

"Stand-out dishes: The calimari is so light, crisp, tender -- generous portion (enough for 3) served w/verrry thin slices of zucchini and chunky, freshly made tomato sauce. Chicken breast with speck and asparagus in a creamy tomato sauce w/cognac - oh! Creme brulee was decadent and delicate.
Pretty, nicely decorated room with flattering lighting (ladies take note!) Service was refreshingly "old school". No calling our party of six in our 50s & 60s "you guys" or crouching tableside to get chummy. Very knowledgeable wine pairing advice. Attentive but unobtrusive observation to see if all was going smoothly. Which it was -- we'll be happy to return for another meal."

"My fiance and I went to La Volpe for a trial to see about having our wedding reception dinner there. It was our first time at the restaurant and all I can say is AMAZING! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. That same night we booked our reception dinner. We cannot wait to go back!!!"

"Great traditional Italian and Sicilian cuisine, not to be confused with the typical Long Island Italian-American restaurant that serves Spaghetti & Meatballs or Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana (both which are about as Italian as Knockwurst and Sauerkraut). I've been to La Volpe twice and the food was very good both times. The restaurant doesn't serve pasta, risotto, etc. as a first course like a trattoria in Italy, the pasta dishes are served as main courses. However this is really the only thing about La Volpe which is Americanized, so if you enjoy real Italian cuisine, you ought to give this place a try."
