"Pipa bills itself as a Tapas restaurant but beware weekends late lunch when you get presented with the inevitable brunch menu, very disappointing. The white bean soup is nice but very salty, oberly so I'd say. The sandwiches were actually very tasty but beware the chicken club, it really does come with half a roast chicken's worth of chicken, rather OTT for a lunchtime sandwich. Service brusque on the front desk and then lackadasical at the table, again disappointing. To cap it all they did not confirm our attendance through Open Table causing us more work after eating there to remove a potential black mark on our record. If you want tapas, avoid this place and head to Casa Mono which is simply leagues ahead and super."

"Food was different and fabulous! Flavors were great! Service was lacking big time. Our waiter stopped serving us in the middle of the meal and then another waiter barely took over. They didn't even thank us for coming in at the end of the meal!"

"I had been to Pipa once for tapas & thought it was just ok, but the brunch I had (omelette & potatoes) was excellent & much more moderately priced than dinner there. The venue is really pretty because of the chandeliers, shells & stones on the walls, lighting, etc. The mojitos (which I'd tried during my first visit) are really good & strong - I would make this my happy hour venue of choice if it wasn't so crowded most of the time."

"This place was pretty cool when I walked in. The exposed brick, lighting and set-up were very nice, although the price tags hanging from the chandeliers was a bit corney, but I get they has some connection with ABC Home and Carpet next door. There was a nice variety on the tapas menu."

"First, we had reservations to your restaurant. So when we arrived two gentleman without reservations walked in just before us and the maitre'd told them to "sit wherever you like." When I told the maitre'd of our reservation for 3, he sat us in a large table with 3 other strangers. The restaurant was virtually empty at this time. I asked to be moved to a more quaint table on the other side of the restaurant with a little more privacy - the maitre'd then got a major attitude and rolled his eyes. Instead of obliging us and moving us to the table I requested, he moved us to the front of the restaurant by the door. Within 5 minutes another group of 3 walked in and the maitre'd then sat them in the table I requested. Maitre'd=sucky."

"We ordered about 10 different tapas, and almost all of them were absolutely delicious!My favorites were the dates and the diver scallops. The meatballs and the aged ham was exceptional as well. The octopus, however, was not the best. It was seasoned well, but the texture of the octopus was too soft, not chewy the way octopus should be. Our waiter was very patient and sweet. The only annoyance I had at the restaurant was the busboys coming around every 5 min. asking if we were done when we were still working on our food, and had food left on most of our plates. Overall, it was a great experience and would definitely go back."

"Really enjoyed Pipa. There is a lot to choose from and is a good restaurant to share dishes with another or a group. We were seated right next to the salsa band, which was fun and not overpowering, simply added to the atmosphere. It was a little pricey for what you get, but would recommend giving it a try if around $45-50 per head fits your budget."

"Over all very good dining experience. I wasn't impressed with the Chicken Galatian soup as it was not as flavorful as the traditional one. On the other hand I found the mushroom and Ham Crocketts to be a delight. The chorizo and its sauce... Outstanding! and as for the fried squid,...Different but I liked it. I will definitely frequent Pipa till I at least try the rest of the menu. Thank you Pipa for hosting a fine Sunday brunch."

"This is not a Tapas restaurant but it is a Mexican restaurant where they play loud Mexican music that gives you headache, the ambiance only pretends to be different with a bunch of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The food tastes awful when you compare it to the quality of food in a place like Boqueria that has real tapas. The octopus we ate came in some tasteless red oil (actually it wasn't tasteless it tasted like industrial oil), the paella is also awful where they actually serve Mexican rice mixed with tasteless bits of seafood so clearly the poor guy in the kitchen was told to mix some shrimps and rice and he thought this should be close to a Burrito. The meat skewers was absolutely average with no taste, spice, nothing on it but."

"Food quality was good but would have liked a more interesting menu for lunch....I enjoyed this more for brunch...waiters were nice enough but we had to ask for bread, then butter, etc...which should have been served since we ordered salads...my Cobb salad was supposed to have blue cheese, but I couldn't find it...and didn't actually realize it til the end of the meal! But ambiance was lovely and waiters weren't trying to get us out when we stayed for a long time."

"My boyfriend and I made a reservation at Pipa after walking by the previous week and seeing all the beautiful chandeliers hanging throughout the windows. The ambiance was great (a little dark) but it was very romantic and every single dish we had did not disappoint. We asked our waiter for recommendations on the tapas and loved each one he recommended (scallops, calamari, chorizo flat bread, the chocolate dessert). After a pitcher of delicious sangria, our waiter even brought over two extra glasses, on the house, after the bill was paid, because the weather outside with pretty snowy and he said there was no reason for us to venture out into it. All in all it was great experience and we left telling all of our friends about this great find."
