"The food was decent overall but by no means anything special. I ordered a steak which was cooked perfectly but was poorly seasoned. The fried asparagus also lacked flavor. I did think that the mashed potatoes were excellent, however. Overall I don't think the food is worth the cost."

"I made this reservation for Mother's Day lunch and it went smoothly. They were ready for us when we arrived and we were shown straight to our table. We were asked our drink options immediately and were given excellent service. The waitress was thorough and suggested appetizers for our table which were delicious, especially the crab cakes. The entrees were well timed after our appetizers and were exceptional. We were offered dessert, which we had as well. All in all it was a memorable occasion and we will most definitely done here again!"

"The food was Awesome, my husband and I both ordered the Fillet Mignon and Fish w/ Asparagus and a side of Lobster Risotto! This was prepared exactly as we ordered it.. my husband ALWAYS uses steak sauce... he didn't even ask for it! :-) It was all very good... I would also like to thank the waiter who sat us in a quiet area and told us about this dish. Kudos to this guy... sorry, can't remember his name."

"We went to this restaurant 2 time. First time was so good that we decided to go again at the end of our vacation. I ordered a dish which had dungeonous crabs. I did not have dungeonous crabs. It had Alaskan Crab legs...huge difference. The dinner was just not that good. Our waitress although very nice was slow (and there was may 3 table that night). The meal was quite a disappointment."

"We arrived about 15 minutes early for our reservation, as did the party that walked in with us. The party before us was seated immediately, with no questions. The hostess left us standing in the doorway while she went and spoke with the manager. We were seated in a table for two. The hostess and/or manager greeted each table, told them of specials, etc, but not our table. The tables were extremely close together, and the party to our side constantly stared at our plates. Also, we noticed that the hostess and manager walked around and asked the tables around us about their meal and experience, but not our table. This theme carried throughout dinner, however, it did not apply to our waitress, Irina. Irnia was excellent, and attentive."

"Food was great. Restaurant wasn't crowded but service was a little slow, and it seemed that the server wasn't at fault. He and other servers had to bus tables and make drinks while the bartender was engaged with the one person sitting at the bar who was female and appeared to have him too captivated to work. Other than that, they definitely do know how to cook wonderful seafood. We'll definitely return."

"The chef/cooks are excellent and were also flexible in substitutions. They have Hendricks gin - many restaurants do not. The wait staff were like old friends. These guys know how to cook fish. We ate there 3 time over the course of 6 days. Other restaurants just did not stack up - too much fried food. The choices were varied regarding fresh fish and each selection was unique in its presentation. Nightly specials also were intriguing - it was hard to choose - everything was fantastic."

"Don't get me wrong the food was AMAZING, I had curry crusted salmon while my date had steak and shrimp, we loved our food. However, the service was terrible, we got there and a waitress took our drink order and we waited at least 20 minutes, finally we asked someone if we could order our dinner because we were starving, they gladly took it, our waitress finally came back 10 minutes later ready for our order, and we told her we already gave it to someone else, instead of saying, Oh wonderful, I'm so sorry about the wait, she gave us this look like she was so disapointed in us. You would think after that she would have stepped up her game a little bit. Let's just say she did not. I always give 20% + on tip, this is the first time I did not."

"Great Appetizer selection, but the chilled seafood cocktail of shrimp, crab, seared scallops and Ahi tuna is delicious, a real bargain and enough for two. Soup & Salad choices are also very good but the Saltwater Salad is exceptional. Who orders steak at a seafood restaurant? I did and it was a perfectly cooked, prime filet - as good as any steakhouse in Houston! Try the peppercorn sauce with it."

"We come here every year from Dallas area. Across the street from opera - so that is convenient for a few. It's good for straight up fish like sea bass; and mussels in chardonnay wine & butter were great! Gumbo was pretty good but nothing fancy - one oyster - mostly shrimp; Southern BBQ Texas Red fish and grits ($24) - fish over cooked and barely there, ton of grits, & too much roux - $5 too much for what you get."

"Excellent food, one of my favorite seafood restaurants. It's a bit more expensive that the places I eat routinely and I do wish it wasn't quite so loud. We eat there whenever we have tickets at the Grand which is right across the street."

"Great place to dine in Galveston. The staff was one of the best we had in the entire time we had been in Galveston. The food was probably some of the best. Every visit to Galveston needs to include a meal,whether lunch or dinner, at this restaurant. We would take great food and outstanding service over a view any day."

"Although Saltwater Grill is not on the seawall, it is only about a mile away on the corner of 21 St. in downtown, which I might add has it's own appeal. The layout is open so it does not have a cozy feel but the ambiance is that of finer dining but with an element of hot spot. The noise level was When in Galveston you better expect fresh, great seafood and the Seawater Grill delivered. I had the special and it was great. A word of warning, the specials are about twice as much cost as the regular menu but it didn't bother me because it was so good. I would recommend the Seawater Grill and I will return to dine."

"The food was truely outstanding.If the seafood gumbo was any better, you could not eat it! The service was excellent. We were four people and each ordered something different from appetizers, entres, and desserts. We were able to taste many different dishes. We would rate the restaurant as four stars.
When in Galveston again, we will definately eat at the Saltwater Grill."

"Unfortunately, this was one of the worst meals I have had in years. I have no idea how this restaurant is so highly rated. The lobster bisque tasted like Velveeta; the lettuce in the salad tasted like it came directly out of a plastic bag; the dressing on the salad was unmixable (it was so chunky and greasy it just clumped together; and the grits tasted like water. The service was mediocre at best."

"Table of four. Of the four entrees only two were eaten. One was the Sea Bass which was excellent. Seafood gumbo was full of rice and salt, not seafood. Pasta with seafood did have seafood but the pasta was lukewarm and has an alfredo sauce that resembles the cheese stuff you get on those nachos at a ball game."
