"Food and service were great. Wonderful view of the surf, and open windows allowed ocean breeze. Looking forward to next visit. Only negative was there was no beef or lobster available on night visited (!!)."

"This is my new favorite restaurant! I made a reservation on Open Table for my 39th Anniversary. In the comment section I asked for a table with a view since this was our first time there and also a special occasion. We got a table right on the water and what a view it was. Our wait staff person Ginger was an absolute delight. She helped us with our selections and answered all of our questions, took our picture and was really very sweet. My husband had the 18 oz. bone-in Rib Eye steak, perfectly cooked medium. I had the Scallops and again, cooked perfectly. We also shared a Caesar salad and the buttermilk cheesecake. Perfect ending to a lovely day. We will definitely be back and will tell our friends about it too!"

"This is a busy place - so make reservations and use the valet parking. The view (beautiful beach, surfers) is lovely! Everyone enjoyed their meals (salmon, seafood pasta, rosemary chicken, duck confit mini tacos, asparagus w/ bernaise)! This is a really fun place if you don't minds crowds and noise - lots of energy! Will definitely go back!"

"Made reservations a week ahead and still waited 40min. and hostess almost gave our table to someone who had just walked up from the bar!!!! not cool! But we were with good friends and enjoyed cocktails from the bar and good conversation.
In future would get there 15 min early for reservations and watch the tables."

"We sat on the patio right on the beach. Beautiful. Very good seafood and service.

My only complaint is that Poseidon, like more and more restaurants had such a high noise level that conversation was difficult until late when many diners left the restaurant. My prime reason for eating out rather than entertaining a home is to enjoy uninterrupted conversations with friends while enjoying good food without the hassle of cooking myself."

"Usually, my guests and I have an excellent dining experience at Poseidon. This time, our margaritas were served in small glasses, watered down w/ little flavor and my cup of clam chowder was the smallest cup I've ever had. The salmon and the crab were excellent."

"We have been going to Poseidon for a number of years now, and have never been disappointed. The food is always excellent and the view and atmosphere are tough to beat. One of the top 5 resturants on our list!"

"I Love this place! I always know I'm going to get great food at a reasonable price with great service. It's the only nice restaraunt I'm aware of in north county and sitting on the patio literally right next to the beach is hard to beat. Great sunset viewing. Go there."
