Inside Park at St. Bart's, the new restaurant located in the transformed Great Hall at famed landmark, St. Bartholomew's Church at Park Avenue and 50th Street, serves a fabulous selection of contemporary American cuisine. The design, food and service pay tribute to the idea of a "sense of place and time", while welcoming guests to comfortable 140-seat venue in which to "escape", break bread and share a casual dining experience. Just a few steps up from the sidewalk along stately Park Avenue, diners are seemingly miles from the hustle and bustle in one of the world's greatest cities.
"We went for Mother's Day. The outdoor setting next to the church is lovely. But the food was boring. The croissants were dry and old. They did not have butter or jam for the croissants. The main courses were average. The tiramisu was actually *excellent*.
The wait staff was nice, but the woman who seated us was a terror. She was so incredibly rude she must have had a traumatic event or something just prior to coming to work."

"We had a fantastic time. Even when they were busy, they took excellent care of us. Food was delicious, service friendly, professional. We love this restaurant."

"Great location and price. Even when staff was closing up the outdoor patio area and cleaning up, we were not rushed or felt we were being rushed to get out of there. They let us eat and drink at our own pace. LOVED this find since I live in neighborhood and am always looking for a great outdoor location."

"Excellent attentive service. Perfect location for meeting people in NYC. They go a little heavy on the sauces, so ask for them to be served on the side."

"First nice day of the season, place was mobbed. Servers in a complete daze. Took 20+ minutes to get one to take our order, a bottle of wine and tray of steamed dumplings. Dumplings arrived 10-15 minutes later - we finished the dumplings and 5 more minutes went by. Then the waitress floated over, 'we don't have any Sauvingnon Blanc.' Really? Not just the one we wanted, but none at all. We selected a chardonnay - it finally arrived 40 minutes after we had orderd."

"A bit pricey for the amount of food served but the food was good although I was hunger afterwards. I had the half sandwich/half salad and althogh it was tastey, it wasn't very filling as the sandwich was very small. I think most people go for the atmoshphere if it's great weather and to people watch."

"This place always has really slow service. The waitstaff is inattentive and unhelpful. If you come here for lunch, expect very long waits, mediocre food, but it's nice to sit outside on a warm day."

"Went for Easter Brunch, big mistake. Should have departed immediately when saw only one other table occupied! The photos on website make place look really nice, cozy and comfortable. I felt like we were at temporary tables but they appear in the webphotos so the photographer deserves props. Took forever for a pot of coffee for the four of us. It was undrinkable when it arrived. We all had omelettes and one came looking like a foamy squishy thing made in the microwave, not kidding. A dried up tomato with bread crumbs and a handfull of dry watercress accompanied the omelette. Waiters seemed clueless? Wondered if this is a church outreach program we stumbled upon so we did not say much but left fast."

"We were a party of 7 and pleasantly surprised by the room, food and service. Food was delicious, but some said there could have been more included in the brunch items. Service was great and the room was an interesting part of history."

"Went there for Easter Brunch this year. We requested an inside seat, but it was too crowded so we sat outside under the tent. It was very nice out there, and the weather held up so we didn't mind. We ordered from the Easter menu so there were only a few options, but the smoked salmon was delicious and the rosemary lamb was great. I would like to try it again during a normal day to see how the regular menu holds up."

"It took 1 1/2 hours to get the first course. When I asked the server when it would be ready, she said she thought we had already eaten it. A try of food was brought to the table with the first and second courses together! The whole experience was incompetent."

"I really liked this restaurant and will definitely recommend this to my friends and return again. I was bowled over by the location, which is to the side of St. Barts church. Our waitress was wonderful - recommended a very nice wine, instead of the one I had chosen. It had this very hip feel to it - but on the other hand it has this old world archetecture. So, all in all, I would definitely recommend this restaurant - it has all the elements that you want in a lovely evening out."

"We went for Valentine's Day. Looks like a decked out Church Hall but perfect date atmosphere. They had a nice dance floor and a decent prix fixe menu with uninspiring desserts. Ask about when the live music decides to take its break so you're not there while there's nothing to do. Wait staff was friendly but a little green, probably on the level of bistro service. Relatively affordable. Not a perfect night but was still very enjoyable."

"Three of us met for dinner at St. Bart's. We all ordered the same salad with a different topping. We tried a very nice Pinot Grigio and topped the night off with the cookie tray. The cookies were good, but did seem more like a manufactured product than homemade. (We probably interpreted Grandma's incorrectly.) The environment was perfect for catching up and quiet conversation. The lighting was subtle and inspiring. Service was patient and efficient."
